  1. Looks beautiful and sounds like it smells great too. Can't wait to see the cuts!!!
  2. My olive oil I get here locally went up 2 dollars recently.
  3. Will do. Camera is messed up. The problems I've been having sporatically with it, apparently the rechargable battery is gone. It won't even hold a charge now. Will borrow neighbor's camera and post back when I have one uploaded.
  4. Well I guess all that makes sense then. Thanks for explaining it to me. It really had me perplexed.
  5. OMG that just looks heavenly!!! Beautiful fluffy looking creaminess!!! I have to get in on this class too!!! *going to hunt for that supply list right now*
  6. Thank you!!! E, I've learned so much from this place and others, but especially you. That book you suggested helped me a lot, along with the links and the basics in the beginning. Thank you!!!
  7. I'm seeing this a lot and just was reminded of it again. Why in the world does anyone who makes soap have to mention there's lye used to make it???? Lye isn't in the finished product so why do you even have to say it? I mean, I've seen it listed in ingredients listings even under sodium hydroxide. Why? There's none left when the soap is done. I really don't understand this one. This post made me think about it just a few minutes ago. I'm stumped. http://www.craftserver.com/forums/showpost.php?p=648588&postcount=10
  8. LMAO thank you Top!!! Thank you for the advice will do at 110 or so to be safe, and ready to mix as fast as I can, with mold ready to go. It's a small tube. OMG....light bulb just went off. The bottom of this tube might be aluminum. Must check! LOL I'm nervous too. Still haven't done it yet though. And I'll make sure it's warm enough for sap. Thank you!!!
  9. Thanks Louise! I have no idea if the gloppy thing matters, but that's why I mentioned it because it was what worked for me with the salt bars. I mean it was like thick glop by the time I poured the colors into the base color in the pot. I was afraid it was actually too thick. Your scent matches the color so it's fitting. The description sounds so yummy of that scent too. I've never smelled it.
  10. I'm hoping to get caught up on housework so I can get ready for more soaps. Still testing the last candles I made and I'm always playing with soapcalc. Even if I don't get any soaps done, I'll have a few plans for the next batches done this weekend.
  11. Roxanne I can't thank you enough!!! See, I hadn't come across that melt info. Thank you!!! I'm behind on my laundry so I don't know if this will happen tonight either, but I'm going to do it soon. Have to get caught up on housework. LOL Thank you!!!! I usually do my mixing lye water to oils at like 95 too. Lye cooler than oils. I guess this beeswax is going to be more of a challange than I thought! Even better! LOL
  12. When I did my itp swirl with the cp, the stuff was really gloppy. I think gloppy works best. LOL
  13. Well that's why their clearance then, because those tops aren't perfect!!! They need to get rid of their qc dept! Beach Scent...hmm you'd think that would be fresh out like for summer, unless they've been on the shelves there since last year maybe? I was at walmart yesterday and I couldn't find them. Maybe mine cleared them to another section too at the same time. LOL Yeah, collectible item you have there KandleKrazy! LOL Save that sticker on there to prove it really came from Walmart!! LOL You can find stuff made in USA there, but it's never the most obvious and it's hard. I've been doing it lately. Stinks because you need to look through like 100 things before you find USA. I have bought a candle there that was usa made though. It's those white enamel looking candles. The wax in them is weird. It almost feels like soy, but it doesn't say it's soy. I'd swear it is though. Like 4 inch diameter and it's double wicked. Not too great a throw but you can smell them a little. I still like mine better.
  14. Well that price tag looks like a roll back price. They must not be selling well or something. And OMG the tops aren't perfect. Good to see they're made in the USA though. Let us know how it burns. Looks pretty big and the wick might not clear the sides off. Who knows though. Will be interesting to hear how it does.
  15. I actually love that soap!!! It's very delicate looking. Looks spa like. Beautiful!
  16. I'd love to learn how to make them, even if I couldn't join in the class right now. They really are beautiful!!! Yummy looking too!!!
  17. Beautiful colors and swirls Louise!!! Even with the ash they look pretty. Darned ash. Twice now I've had it and I don't like that stuff. Stinky ash fairies!!!!
  18. Yeah, I know. I just want to try it and it's going to be small. Just a slim jim tube. I use lard but lard soap takes longer to set up and then I can't use that mold till it's set up. It seems to for me anyway. I have to try it. LOL This would just be a little special one all for me if it works out. Wouldn't plan on using the beeswax normally. Just want to play with it for myself. It sounds like it would make for a good shave soap from all I've read.
  19. Will do! Still haven't done it yet. I think I'm going to try it tomorrow night though. Can't wait! LOL No, if I had some clay, I'd use some though!
  20. And this one too. http://www.elementsbathandbody.com/
  21. http://www.fragrancesbydesign.com/ Just got this in an email.
  22. In the situation I'm in right at the moment with husband unemployed for the last 3 weeks, I couldn't buy the palm like I had wanted to, so I used one of my egg hunt gift certs and got some stearic acid, thinking it would help somewhat, till I can order from columbus one day. It's somewhat out of necessity I want to play with it. Can't hurt to try and thank you very much Top for your advice and information!! For my normal batch, I'll do 2%, but I want to try 10% in a slim jim tube just to see what it does!!!! LOL The beeswax has some good properties it looks like from what I'm reading. It partially saps in soaps and what's left is desireable and has good qualities. I'm tossing 20% of that in the slim jim tube too and will post back how the soap came out when I do it later on.
