  1. Thanks. Yeah going full water cool as possible. Not tonight though. I feel the fairies in the house. Just too tired to think tonight. Not a good time to be soaping.
  2. LMAO I'm laughing just because I really want to try this, because it's said it can't be done easily. Challenge, I love it! I want to make a shaving soap, using 20% beeswax, which is protective and emollient, with moisture drawing properties. I'm also going to add 10% stearic acid, because if it's long lasting, well that is a great thing in a shave soap. Now I know it's going to be hard and I'm ready. No color or fo. This is going to be fun. Will get the blood circulating.
  3. Please, let it out, let it out!!! LOL I love math teachers!!! Thank you for helping me get that one too. I just was stumped on the diameter. The way you explained it is perfect thank you!!!!
  4. Thank you! I'm really bad with geometry stuff. I'm sitting here trying to figure out the diameter of this thing and I know it can't be what I'm seeing. A calc would be great. The thing measures like 3 inches across, but it's no way 3 inch diameter because my candles are 3 inchers and this is a little slimmer so I know I forgot how to figure that out! Calc would be a dream. I'm gonna hunt too. Had no idea there was such a thing. Edit: Thank you so much CareBear!!! Edit again: OK crash course in diameter. Worth it though thank you!
  5. I'm trying to figure this one out and because it's round, I can't calculate the length and width. Should I just figure it as a square and take a bit off so it's not too much? LOL *stumped*
  6. LOL alien brains! That always cracks me up, that description. Thank you! Good to know! I saw something on BrambleBerry blog today that said they tried a customer's 8% beeswax recipe, but they didn't say what else was in it. I've seen beeswax in castile recipes today too. In my book here, it says half of the wax isn't sappable. Still trying to find out what the half that isn't sappable does though! LOL Soaper's Choice says: I found something that says it's low comediogenicy which is good. Thinking of something, a recipe, to make use of it's properties. Will soap it ice cold with full water if I do it. LOL
  7. Thank you that's great to know!
  8. Thank you! I use soapcalc to formulate, but I save my recipes in soapmaker. I actually had two that I forgot to mark the %'s for that were hand written. I'll never do that again. At first I was in a panic. Two great recipes that I thought I might have lost! LOL
  9. I just realized that soapmaker does it and got it done. Thank you though. Good to know there's another too.
  10. I took a recipe down and big duh, forgot to put %'s. So I just have my weighted oils needed. Wasn't there a calc that would turn it into %'s? Or is there a way to do it easy, by regular calc to find the numbers? I know the total oil amount. Just drawing a blank on how to work this out.
  11. From all I've seen, babassu should be on the low clogging chart too. I've read it's not clogging.
  12. I've seen some opinions in searches, but figured maybe people have changed their minds on things or started to use different amounts etc, since last time it was discussed. I have stearic acid and white beeswax here that I received recently. Good for anything in soap? Yes? No? I know I've seen if using stearic, that 3% is ok. I know it forces trace quicked, but looking for hardening properties really and for me, it seems the way to go right now if I can do it. Any opinions, advice appreciated.
  13. Now whip it, into shape, shape it up, get straight, go forward, move ahead....thanks Beau's Mama, I'm gonna have that stuck in my head all night now! OMG those are pretty!!! Very cool looking!
  14. Beautiful labels too!! Very nice looking stuff!!
  15. OMG Scented!!! Gorgeous!!!! Love the one especially with the black in it!!!
  16. OMG the strawberry one is adorable with those embeds!!! Beautiful first soaps!
  17. Aw shucks beau's mama. LOL No where near being any tutor, but boy it's a nice feeling to know I'm doing good with this stuff so far. Thank you!!! Thank you Billie. From the minute I hit this board, I was addicted to looking at all the pretty soaps. This place is such an inspiration for me. I'm learning so much here. I'm sure you know what I mean too since you do both too!
  18. Well they came out pretty beautiful even though the color wasn't what you wanted. Love the crinkle cut too! The last one, well the color is different but the texture is amazing. Yes I'd call it a texture. LOL I think plain colored soaps with the texture on them are beautiful. They're fun to make too, from what I've experienced. Like playing with cake icing. LOL
  19. Thank you! Now that they're very hard, I can wipe them and get the sloppy looking salt off to make them look more polished.
  20. Wow!!! Those bars look perfect!!
  21. Thank you both! That itp swirl thing is really cool to do. I can't wait to do it again! LOL The bars are like rocks today. Soon I can cut a sliver off to test them out. Can't wait to see how they do. Dana I know!!! I'm still working on my candles, and totally into it still, but this soap is just so addicting. LOL It's really fun to see the oils turn to soap for me. Then playing with the colors and stuff. It's just exciting for me. I couldn't stop now if I tried!
  22. I wouldn't doubt if there's a ton of wax left in the container though, after you burn them. Probably made in China too. That's the first thing I look for now, where they're made.
  23. I love the bars it puts out. Nice shape to them! The texturing on top you do it gorgeous too!
  24. Wow that color is beautiful!!! Beautiful cuts!!!
