  1. I don't see that anyone carries the IGI 1288 (was it discontinued?) but saw that Aztec has IGI 1286, which sounds similar to the 1288. Does anyone use the 1288 (where do you get it?) or 1286 or know how similar/different these 2 are? Thank you all!
  2. I've stopped carrying any type of orange scents because, with the exception of the orange chiffon cake from Ky, they all had a fuel smell when burning. I even added coconut cream pie or vanilla to tone down the butane smell, but still there it was there. Is there an orange/vanilla or orange combo out there that any of you have had luck with--strong and no fuel smell? My absolute favorite smell was the Trapp orange vanilla, but I've tried a few dupes of that one, too, and either it's not strong enough or there's that dreaded fuel smell. Thanks everyone--you guys are great!
  3. Thanks everyone--this gives me some good leads on who to try next.
  4. The company that took over Flicker's Fragrances informed me that they dropped Flicker's BNB because it wasn't a good seller. I tried so many BNB scents and this one was very true (no fakey banana smell) and threw great for me. Well, now I have to scramble and find another one. Any suggestions for a true-smelling strong BNB? Thanks a bunch (again)! (I just love these little smileys)
  5. I like Snowdrift Farms and RE/AH.
  6. I saw this on Starrville's website and I've not heard of it. Has anyone tried it? What is it comparable to? Is it worth getting a slab and trying it? Thanks so much!
  7. Yahoo! Thanks so much for the web addy candlelady--I use several of their scents and didn't want to have to order and re-test and re-test to replace them.
  8. That is such a bummer! I like some of their scents, but with all the inconsistencies of the site, I guess I better look elsewhere. Thanks for the heads up.
  9. OK, I know they were gone for awhile, then they got bought out and had a new website, but now I can't find them at all. Have they been renamed or did the new owners shut down the business? Please help! Thanks so much!
  10. I have a customer who lives far away in a much more humid environment than me. She has complained about wicks drowning in 2 of the candles she purchased from me. I have test-burned them without a problem. Could the problem be the change in humidity? (The difference is about 15% humidiity here vs. 85%-90% humidity where she lives) Any input from you all would be wonderful!!! Thanks:)
  11. Hello, I am looking for a true gingerbread scent for my paraffin/soy candles. I've tried many, including BW honey gingerbread (nice scent, just not what I'm looking for), and still can't seem to find what I'm searching for. Either the scent is not a "true" gingerbread, it has a "doughy" smell, or smells great OOB but changes once burning. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.
  12. Karen M is right, plus I also like Northstar and Starrville. HTH
  13. French's (through BCN or Early American) is a very good peppermint--strong and straight peppermint. Wonderful alone or for mixing.
  14. Ok, does everybody know what shortbread is? Should I call it shortbread cookie? (I already have 3 cookie scents, so I was hesitant) What would be a good name? Also, found an Amish Harvest I like but was thinking I should re-name it also. What are your thoughts on these 2 scents to re-name? Thanks for your help!
  15. The Candlemaker's store has a great cranberry relish and Ky has a wonderful cranberry sauce--straight cranberry and STRONG! If you try this one, don't judge it OOB and only use about 1/2 the amount you normally do. HTH:)
  16. I've tried the Candle Source and Bert's--both are very nice and excellent throwers. Just wondered if there's another one out there that's even better than these 2. Thanks again everybody:)
  17. I've tried several Amish harvest scents, including Celtic Moonspice (which smells like Amish harvest to me) and was wondering which one you find to be the strongest. I use a paraffin/soy blend, BTW. Also, do you re-name this scent? Thanks for your help!!
  18. Peak's spruce Christmas tree. I used to use Tradewinds, but they became unreliable and Peak's is the closest I have found to theirs.
  19. Aztec carries a "Smell of Christmas" scent which is very similiar if not identical to JS "Nostalgia" scent. Both have orange and spices and are quite nice. HTH
  20. Thanks everyone! I had just placed orders for both NG gingerbread and my first order with Backwoods (and ordered the honey gingerbread) so I can't wait to get the orders and get 'em in wax.
  21. This was my "quest" up until last year. I have tried many sugar cookie scents and here are my results. KY and BCS are both similar to my nose, but not a straight sugar cookie. They have a little spice, almost like a snickerdoodle and smell divine! I love them both. Of all the straight sugar cookie scents I tried, WSP gourmet sugar cookie, JBN vanilla sugar cookie, Taylored's vanilla sugar cookie and Northstar's sugar cookie were the best with the strongest throw in my wax formula. All of these are a bit different but all smell wonderful and threw very well. HTH:)
  22. have a maple smell to it? Every gingerbread I've tried either smells like maple, corn/popcorn (weird, huh?), or has a "doughy" smell to it and I've tried at least 8 to 10 different ones. Also, every caramel I have smelled has either a maple smell or is a straight vanilla. Any thoughts or suggestions on these 2 scents would be greatly appreciated. Thanks:) P.S. I have found a gingersnap cookie that I like, but it's mainly spices without much baked smell. I've tried mixing it with sugar cookie or vanilla, but it's still not that wonderful baked spicy gingerbread smell.
  23. For the pumpkin, Sweet Pumpkin Pie (Heartfelt), Vanilla Pumpkin (Southern Scentsations) and Sweet Pumpkin (Daystar from Soap Silly)--all are a sweet creamy pumpkin with less spice than most. For cranberry-type, spiced cranberry from ICS or BC is very nice. I also like cranberry sauce from KY, and cranberry marmalade from CS. HTH:)
  24. The truest to B&BW I've tried so far is the RE/AH (SnC) and WSP--excellent dupes. There are others out there that are strong and good as well, but not a B&BW dupe, which is what I was looking for. HTH
