    tarts?

I charge a buck for my tarts. They are a bit smaller then an oz. I get comments from a lot of people saying it's cheap and love the price. I could probably get away with 1.50 but since we do faires i like round #s. Yank-me is average 1oz and they sell em for 2 bucks.
  4. My house is 950 sq ft. I'll test candles in my bedroom or sitting on the deep freezer in the living/dining room. I' usually test pillars and votives in the bedroom and the 50z and 8oz jars in the living room. If the AC is off most will fill my house depending on the scent, if the AC is on it makes it to the return vent in the middle of the house.
  5. I've got two people in my office who both bought a 5oz lemongrass container. One loves it and has since bought another because she burned it out. The other can't smell it at all...I had her bring it in so i could test it out, handed it off to a tester person and said let me know. The candle was fine, it burned well and smelled great. I believe some people just have trouble smelling some scents.
  6. I've been using 1 and 1 since 2001 and have not had any issues with them at all. I love their support. I'm in the debates of moving the store from regular hosting to one of the e-commerce packages http://www.1and1.com/?k_id=6880974
  7. I put votive's in a votive cup and set it on my tart warmer all the time. Just make sure the votive doesn't come all the way to the top of the cup.
  8. i prefer the Network model since we have several PCs that print. It makes life easier.
  9. Okay so i'm back from faire, and it was a blast. But back to the topic. Store & Forward - Works well, I came home Saturday night uploaded them and batched them. Did the same about an hour ago. I'll see what the difference in the fee's are between the knuckle buster and swiping at the end of the month, but i do believe they are cheaper. Using the battery and power inverter worked great, I bought a 400W one because it came with the alligator type clamps to clip on the battery terminals then screw onto the back of the inverter. Dripped a couple of holes into the plastic battery cover i also bought for the wires to go through and plugged in the terminal, I'm sold on doing that the rest of the year.
  10. I rent ours from termnet once the season is over we can stop our service ship the machine back. We do pay the fees for running the cards, and such.
  11. We use Termnet and rent out terminal. It's a Nurit 2085 sadly it's not wireless. Where we go for faires there is little or no reception so we use the knuckle buster. What I am attempting this coming weekend is the Store & Forward ability of the terminal. You can swipe the card and it stores the transaction till you can upload it later. I've rigged up a lawnmower battery and a power inverter to run it. The draw back to the S&F is you accept all responsibility, there is no phone # to call the customer about a problem unless you ask for a # when they sign the receipt.
  12. I have a scent in a votive that covers more space then in an 8oz jar (still testing) I've got jars that cover more space then a votive, it's the size of the melt pool, and usually they don't generally cover the same space if the jar is larger.
  13. Haven't INCed yet, same insurance, business name is registered with the city and we have an FID # I need to add the TM logo to our logo still.
  14. I sat there sunday staring at the melting wax contemplating not making jars anymore.
  15. We did a medieval fastival this past weekend and had an absolute blast. Between the candles and my DW's stuff we didn't do to bad considering where the fair was. When i say middle of no where i mean the middle of no where :smiley2: 20 minutes off the interstate in the moutains. Only lost 2 containers to the heat and sun, the wicks melted into the top of the wax made it look bad trying to dig it out. Heatgun here i come. Looking forward to the next one in July at Gloucester, VA
  16. The date is one thing that is confusing me, the other is if she is cleaning up a mess from a candle and sending you an e-mail she should be calling her insurance company. Like Sockmonkey said there is no such thing as "ABSOLUTELY WITHOUT QUESTION, SAFE"
  17. I use 4625 wax as well and i use LX-18 and 20s on 3 inch pillars. Where i'm at the LX-14 worked better then the 12s did.
  18. That's an idea i didn't think about that. I'm looking at votive, melt, 8oz and 5oz jars with i'm not thinking of bringing down the scent list to 10 instead of 17. DW just told me they are expecting 70,000 to attend over the 2 days.........
  19. was so excited i couldn't type :laugh2:i meant dining room. Probably need some shelving for storage hehehe.
  20. I just bought some flower pot votive holders today, i'm going to test them with an LX-14 (what i use for votives) and an HTP-52 (what i use for my 2 inch jars)
  21. So we just got in the mail our acceptance letter to the Newport News Fall Festival. This is the biggest craft fest in the area...Looks like i'm buying 2 more presto pots 1 fair next week, 1 in july, 2 in september and now the festival in october....I'm taking over the lving room and dinging room too
