  1. I break tarts up and put them in a votive holder and put it on a warmer. At least that's what i did before i got a real tart warmer.
  2. White Tea & Berries, Basil & Herb, fresh coffee, lemongrass - votives Sun Ripened Raspberry - tarts and if the temp doesn't bake me outside organizing the DW's side of the store of festival in 2 weeks.
  3. makes sense, just took me a year to figure that out. i've been measuring out the 6% this whole time.
  4. okay i know there are hundreds of threads on FO % but i got to thinking tonight if we use 6% per pound. We use 1oz of FO when making 1 pound, but i'm using 3.84oz when i make 4 pounds.... Can we get away with 4oz for 4lbs?
  5. great to the dollar store i go for storage tubs. Thanks for the clarification.
  6. I found this when dealing with the recycle symbols on storage tubs like the ones sterilite sells and you can pick them up at the dollar store. http://www.earthodyssey.com/symbols.html#pp if the symbol has a 5 and PP under the symbol it's polypropylene
  7. I'll add to this one and bring the question from the one Judy linked. If most are polyethylene which ones Polypropylene? Right now i'm using the ziplock double guard freezer bags. Next how would one tell which is which if it's not listed on the box? How about cardboard? Can i use cardboard then wrap the boxes in a ziplock bag?
  8. Hmmm, now that is odd. what i was talking about is what CSAS is talking about with the $10 off. it's been a while since i bought anything from them so i forgot what the deal was.
  9. I've been getting cards from them for several years as well and never had a problem. If you don't read carefully you can end up in one of those business max things by your own doing not by VP. They give you the link to get $ off, but when you follow the link you sign up for something not associated with VP. Kind of like doing the free Xbox just join 15 things for a couple of months.
  10. a waxy crystalline flammable substance obtained especially from distillates of wood, coal, petroleum, or shale oil that is a complex mixture of hydrocarbons and is used chiefly in coating and sealing, in candles, in rubber compounding, and in pharmaceuticals and cosmetics seeeeeee carbon so it's organic
  11. I'm partial to definition 7 here http://www.answers.com/organic&r=67 if that is the case then everything is by all rights organic including parrifin
  12. I'm using the apothecary jars from CS http://candlescience.com/containers/5oz-apothecary-jar/
  13. I sell 5oz and 8oz jars. I thought about doing 16oz jars but the 5oz are just to cute :laugh2:at least that was the response from the girls at the office when i took one in to get opinions.
  14. Damn stella first you bust me on the lab coat, now you bust me on the hula and flatulating.
  15. okay, I know there are a lot of threads about Credit cards, but i can't find the answer to this one. Where can i get an imprinter(manual back and forth machine) and credit card receipts for them?
  16. I would love a lab cost that says Dr. E. Vil Genius on the breast but DW would taunt me to no end
  17. Okay i saw a thread in my citronella search about someone testing candles while trying to keep the house cool without AC. Brings me to my question, i'm thinking of moving the operation out to my unheated, unAC, uninsulated garage. I can get a heater and put in a window unit, but i know it'll still be hot in the summer and cold in the winter when not running the heater. Is there a no-no zone temp wise to make candles? IE freezing temps in the winter and 100+ 90% humidity in the summer? I can store finished candles in the house when done....
  18. I didn't even think about the dollar store. Guess i'm hitting the store before costco in the morning
  19. What do you all use for citronella candle containers? I was going to buy a bunch of the 12oz terra cotta patio pots from C&S but they are sold out. The pool place and I were talking about them, and he'd love to see them in the store with some different scents mixed in. I let him know i've got to test them all first once i find some containers =/
  20. Brother 440-cn it's networkable (have 4 PCs the print to it plugged into my router) the ink is cheap, it's a multi-function machine. It prints, scans, copies, and faxes. It was on sale
  21. I'm going to give you an example layout of what my storage looks like (place i upload to) /.(root) /......httpdocs(folder) /......DWs files(folder) /......DDs files(folder) /......My store(folder ivyrune.com) /..........Store(folder with zen cart in it ivyrune.com/store) /......My Files(folder) now with my domain control in the admin area of my hosting package(1&1 hosting) I can edit the domain and make it look at anyone of those folders and that folder becomes the root folder for the domain. so if i point the ivyrune.com to the store folder then when you go to the .com you will see the store not what is in the My Store folder. hope that makes sense. doing my best not to talk in techie. each / is where a specific .com points save for Store it is a .com/store edit put spaces in consider the . as a space
