  1. I bought mine at Winco in bulk foods section.
  2. You are more than welcome. I spoke to them and they are going to throw the sample in with my order so there won't be any extra charge for shipping.
  3. I requested a sample from them about 2 weeks ago and I like them. I have never bought from Peaks or ICS but I think they are just as good a quality as the ones I have gotten from Impact. They even feel a little thicker to me.
  4. I am actually ordering a case of them this week. I have one person who is going to split some of the case with me so if anyone else is interested in sharing the others, let me know. eta: I am also ordering a sample of the 24 cavity ones like the one shown up a few threads.
  5. Oh sweetheart, this is just the start of your addiction!! (Don't believe me...just do a search with the word 'addiction' and see the results) It all starts innocent enough. Making them for yourself and maybe a few gifts. See, it starts with candles, then you do some melts. Next comes lotions, bath salts and body scrubs. Then you add the bath bombs, bubble bars, jello soaps and butters. Then you hit the classifieds and co-ops. Then the next thing you know, you realize you are nothing but a FOHO!! :laugh2: But, you will be in great company!!!
  6. I can't help with that wax as I use something else. However, I have re-melted candles and then poured them again. I put them in a 180-200 degree oven and let them melt. I only do this when testing and would not do this if I was selling them. But if you are just trying to get a feel, I think you would be fine doing it this way when testing. Another thing I do when I test wicks is pour my candles without a wick. Once the wax has set, poke a hole in the center of the candle and place the wick you want to test. Once I find one that meets the expectations needed then I pour a new candle with that wick secured and burn as usual. It has saved me a lot of time from re-pours. As for the bubbles and such around the wick, someone had told me once that if you stir too much then you will get them. I am not certain as I have never gotten them so maybe someone else with more experience can chime in there. Good luck and Happy Addiction!!
  7. I thought that for these candles, you used the actual citronella FO. Am I wrong? I have never made them and was going to make them this summer.
  8. After careful consideration, I have decided to charge GLORIA aka SOCKMONKEY a dealer!! She is feeding my addiction with her yummy sale. I also would like to pass a motion that we start FOHOA!!
  9. Ok, I ordered bunches of M&P at the last co-op and have no idea what to do with it now. I am new to soap and other than looking at these nice blocks, I am clueless. :embarasse I would greatly appreciate any suggestions that you more seasoned soapers could offer.
  10. There are instructions out there on how to put the spigot in yourself. I bought mine off E-bay with the spigot already there, but I have read where others have put their own in.
  11. Well, I guess that makes me quilty as well. Never really thought about it much but looks like I fit right in!!
  12. At my Wal-Mart, it is over by the regular cooking oil. It is in a white container. Also, on your swirls, does it affect the burn since the color can be more concentrated in one area than another??
  13. I buy mine from the grocery store. Wal-Mart also carries it.
  14. I am going to order some samples from them in the next week or so. Would those of you who buy from them please give me some suggestions?? Thanks!!
  15. Make sure they know that you are making them out of your home if that is the case. Some companies will not sell PL Insurance if it is made out of your home. That was the big problem I ran into. My insurance would not cover it, so I found another company that would cover it all.
  16. I like the GB 415. I have considered try the 464 and 444(i think it is) but have never gotten the UMP to actually do it. I have to switch containers since my best selling one has been discontinued so I may try another wax when I do that.
  17. Would adding the 76 CO help? I know that I had to do that to my soy wax before I switched and it helped a lot.
  18. Those look like the oval hex if memory serves me. I like the black on the darker but I bet the light would look better on lighter colored candles. Overall, very nice!!
  19. I looked up a conversion chart for you so hopefully it is not way off. This is for the final attempt one that Luminous did. 1/2 cup cream of tartar - 113.4 grams - 6.40 UK TBLS 1/2 cup corn starch - 113.4 grams - 6.40 UK TBLS 1 cup baking soda - 228.6 grams - 12.80 UK TBLS 1/4 cup SLSA - 56.7 grams - 3.2 UK TBLS 1/3 cup glycerin (or hydrovance) - 70.96 milliliter - 4.2 UK TBLS If you search online for a conversion chart, you should be able to find something that will work for you. That is what I did so I hope this works a little better for you.
  20. Very pretty. I may have to give the overall soaping thing a try.
  21. Those are beautiful!! They have a very romantic appeal to them.
