  1. They sure do look good! My family and friends request these jars all the time. Laura
  2. What type of cooler? I use 4630 with a soy wax but I know that if I don't let the candles cool SLOWLY they get that dent in the middle. You may want to try a different way of cooling. I stick mine in the oven. HTH, Laura
  3. Funflames - I think you are right. My candle journey started with soy wax. I had to repour each one bc the center would drop on every candle. I added cocount oil to help but then I got crumbly tops. After much thought I started playing with para/soy and was amazed at the creamy soft tops I was getting. I guess after such crappy tops I was happy and just never thought about the small line. BUTyou know now that we have talked about it here...it's going to drive me crazy. Laura
  4. I use my own para/soy blend and I cool my candles in the oven. After I am done warming up my jars I turn the heat off and after I pour I place my candles in the oven to cool. It takes 4 -5 hrs or so and I don't make large batches...yet. I do get a bit of the line you are talking about but it's very minimal and my friends and family have never said anything to me about it. Candles smell and burn great. I think that's all that matters to them. HTH Laura
  5. I also love the Lemon Biscotti Pie and it smells great both HT/CT. I love coffee scents and ordered the Vanilla Latte. OOB it was not the best but once I poured it it was great. I have a friend who requests this candle all the time. I only pour and make this scent for her...lol! Laura
  6. Hello there and welcome to the board! I have also been making candles for a little over a year. Just mainly for friends and family. It is a very expensive hobby but I love it. At first it was nerve wrecking trying to find the best wax formula for me but now I find it to be fun...call me nuts! I love trying new FO and coming up w/ diff. colors and such. The ladies and men on this board have all been fabulos. From day one they have been helpful and give out great advice. Laura
  7. I started out with just soy wax but hated frosting, cottage cheese tops and having to wait a week or so to test. I mixed paraffin in with my soy and got wonderful creamy tops and the HT/CT are great w/o having to wait long for setting. I do not sell my candles but make them as gifts for friends and family and they really don't care either way about soy or paraffin so long as they look and smell great. Lor
  8. Ronzo, I don't use the 4627. I blend soy wax and 4630 and I like the HTP wicks the best. Laura
  9. YES that's it Press and Seal!! I could not think of the name. Thanks for posting. I love it and it works great to keep dust and stuff out of the candles. Laura
  10. I get these cute little square glass jars from Wal-mart that can fit about 3 - 4 oz of wax. It was hard to find anything to cover them with for storage so I used something I had on hand. I don't know the exact name. It's not seran wrap it's a bit thicker and it's meant to fit your rubbermaids that don't have lids by just pressing the wrap onto the top of the containers. It sticks really good that even when you turn over liquid it does not spill (if you sealed right!) I wish I had the name. I will look for it again at the store and let you know. It works GREAT and at first I was worried about them soaking up the candle scent but it does not. I have candles I poured several months ago and the scent is still strong. Another thing is that the wrap can be peeled off adn on (for sniffing) and it goes back on without problems and it looks great. HTH Laura
  11. "different" is beautiful. The colors are great and very fall like.
  12. Just beautiful!! These would go great with my home decor....love them!!!
  13. What scares me is they mention that lower temps mean no burning kids or pets. Anything warm enough to melt wax, even the lowest temps I could think of, hot wax on a child or pet would burn them!!! In regards to the hot wax. I used to rep. for Scentsty before I started to make my own candles and I can tell you that the wax gets hot but does not burn. I would place the warmer on one of my end tables in the living room and my two year old got curious and happened to pull at the bowl causing the wax to come splashing all over his face. The scent I was using was Mac Apple and so the color was red. I seriously thought he was burned but I was wrong. The wax cooled right away and I was able to just peel the wax off of him. It did not even stick to his eyebrows. Needless to say I started to place the warmer out of reach for him. Out of curiosity the next time I warmed the wax up I stuck my hand in to see how hot it was when it hit his little face and yes it was hot but it did not burn. Laura
  14. I just got mine from Bert's. I have not poured it yet but OOB smells good. I use a 444/4630 blend. I will let you know when I pour this how well it does.
  15. I also wick before I put them in the oven. The wax on the wick runs a bit but nothing major.
  16. I had this problem with my parasboy blend. I think it is cooling to fast. Try pouring at a lower temp. I then set them in the oven until they are done (the temp in my oven or incubator is 80 degrees). hth ~ Laura
  17. I haver ordered the Mandarin Mimosa and Rose Mint Gardent fO from SB and I have gotten great reviews from my testers. They love these scents.
  18. I made my first votive candles from the Ecosoya PB. They turned out wonderful. Great burn, ht/ct. I loved them. Let us know how they turn out.
  19. I am right there with you Vio. I have been trying and testing for a long time and even though my DH says they are great. I being a VIRGO am still trying to perfect ONE!
  20. Empire candles are made here in Kansas City, Kansas. I have tried several of them and have never been that impressed with them.
  21. Thanks to all who replied. I am going to try CS as I have to order somemore wax from them. I have not ordered from BCS yet but I am going to try them soon. Thx
  22. I have a friend who is wanting me to make a candle for her in this scent. I don't really know what it's suppose to smell like. If anyone has used this fo, could you tell me what supplier you think has the best scent. TIA. Laura
  23. I am testing Bert's Lemon Biscotti Pie right now. The cold and hot throw is very strong. So far I have used 2 of her fo, I still have to pour the others. I have not been dissapointed with any yet. Laura
