  1. I really like em' both! but I did invent the word "label" so you will either have to call them something else or give me full written credit on each one according to my terms of usage
  2. I think that will make them as proud as they were 50 years ago! Great job!
  3. I got the fittings at Lowe's (Went and found my receipt lol) nipple was $1.26 elbow was $3.12 valve was $3.94 You can get the teflon tape for under a buck The size of the pilot bit wouldn't be critical to my way of thinking HTH
  4. Peaks Molds - http://www.peakcandle.com/Merchant2/merchant.mv?Screen=CTGY&Store_Code=PCMS&Category_Code=ALM As you can see, they list both the Flat and the Concave in the round seamless And they are on sale right now!
  5. The Candlemaking Thread at the top of the Index page is a great place to start - Here is a link to it - http://www.candletech.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=26
  6. Do you cure your containers with lids on or off or does it even matter? Thanks in advance
  7. best of luck! but I know you will have a great show even without it!
  8. Yup - And some people's favorite list changes every few days too
  9. Haven't gotten anywhere near to the point of selling yet but I used to set up an "info booth" at local festivals and fairs when I was an ATV Safety instructor I loved it! Just getting to talk to and meet different people "People watching" is one of my all-time favorite past-times lol Best of luck and I know you will do fantastic
  10. I would say on the huge account if you could handle the volumn give it to them!
  11. I am a newbies newbie here but if you have a perfect melt pool isn't that going to give you the maximum scent throw you are going to get regardless of if you change wicks? I would think your lack of scent throw would have to be caused by another factor and not the wick But thankfully there are those here who have a LOT more experience than me who can correct me if I am wrong
  12. I may be wrong (frequently am as a matter of fact lol) but I believe it isn't liquid ounces you should measure but rather weight - weigh your container and wick before you pour and then weigh the finished product - might even want to weigh a number of them and then take your average for your product label and not try and weigh each one
  13. I believe there are two different sizes of flat rate box The flat rate is for all you can get in one of those two particular boxes as long as it doesn't exceed 70 lbs. HTH
  14. You can get votive wick pins at Peaks for 89 cents each right now at Peaks! And the EZ Wick System works great for centering wicks in containers http://www.ezwicksystem.com/default.asp?C=1&S=E3&Document=EZ+Wick+Setter&NID=2232277
  15. There were a number of posts about this on the old boards - I did a search in the archives and came up with this (for starters LOL) http://www.candletech.com/cgi-local/yabb/YaBB.cgi?board=business;action=display;num=1115279111;start=12#12 The general consensus is it's not a good idea! HTH
  16. I was always taught that if I had to tear someone down it meant I was too lazy to raise myself up to their level
  17. From that site - "IGI 6006a is available in 50 lb. (27.2kg) cartons (slabs) or in bulk liquid (tank truck or railcar)" Wonder how may candles you could get out of a railcar? LOL
  18. I am not a lawyer by any means but I would think that the portion of the above original post I highlighted shows plainly that there was not an "error" but they are knowingly using false advertising. Why? Well the experience listed answers that - it made a sale for them they normally would not get! And if you return the product they will give you a credit but you will be out $45? No way would I go along with that. In cases like these I would have asked to talk to the supervisor of person I was speaking to. I would politely request a full refund including my shipping. If they were reluctant I would repeat that statement made about them knowing the size was incorrect and tell them it was false avertising which not only is unethical but also illegal.Just because your supplier is breaking the law that DOES NOT give you the right to knowingly break they law also! As a matter of fact, your state's Attorney General's office may be interested in the fact that they admitted to you that they are intentionally using false advertising - I may be wrong (which is something that happens quite a bit) but at the very least I think they could be banned from selling to anyone in your state! As a consumer don't be afraid to ask for the superior of the person you are speaking with! If I don't honestly agree with the person I am dealing with I have kept that up until I spoke with the owner of a pretty good size business before! Sometimes I have not been satisfied and had to just chalk it up to experience and never dealt with that business again (And yes I have paid more money for the same item before to keep from dealing with a company) and there are times I have been proven wrong, and had to accept that as hard as it is It isn't about just the money with me honestly - IMHO I believe the main reason for the crappy customer service we have today is because we as consumers have allowed it to happen to us! If someone wants my business they are not going to screw me over and expect to ever get it again! Sorry about the encyclopedia here! This is something that gets me fired up (as you can obviously tell LOL)
  19. I believe the wick pins with the 2" diameter base are actually designed for multiple wicking molds where the bases of the larger pins would be hitting each other
  20. From their site - "We painted the jars in the picture so that you could see the detail, but the jars are shipped unpainted and plain." And in that pic I can faintly see the stars in the two tin hats Edited to add - these may not be the exact same ones tho - the stars do not look to be quite as big altho it is really hard to tell from the pic And edited again to also add this was in the description - "Each jar holds about 21 oz. of gel or wax and available with a metal black hat"
  21. Here is a Wick Pin that is 8" long with a 2" diameter Base http://shop.candlesandsupplies.com/candles/product.asp?catalog%5Fname=Candles&category%5Fname=Mold+Accesories&product%5Fid=WP2%2D5
