  1. Look over on the left side of your screen and you will see a button that says "Basic Instructions" - It has step by step instructions with pics I believe
  2. Don't know or remember all the details exactly, but I remember having read once that regardless of what it is - candles, clothing, housewares or whatever, Walmart buys in such huge quantities that they not only get incredible price breaks, they demand even more of a break or they won't buy from that company! Some major manufacturers even make certain items just for Walmart that aren't offered elsewhere - I remember specifically reading about this on some of the firearms Walmart sells - For example, Walmart may sell a Remington shotgun model xyz that can be found nowhere else except Walmart. And they aren't the only major company who does this - once upon a time I worked for a company that is a major manufacturer of parts for the auto industry - Some of the items they made they actually LOST money on just to keep Ford happy and continueing to do business with them on all their other parts - Stories were told of places that refused to actually cut prices on items that Ford ALREADY had a contract with them for and Ford honored that contract, but when it ran out they didn't renew it or any other contract from that company and the smaller manufacturer went out of business. When you are THE major player you can get away with things the average company wouldn't dream of.
  3. I found this on Lebermuth's site in the section on "Ordering Information" EXPORT For shipments outside of North America we require a $500.00 minimum order. These requirements are necessary to cover the additional work incurred to complete customs documentation.
  4. Just for the heck of it I checked shipping charges for 6 different suppliers - BCN, BCS, CandleScience, Lone Star, Peak's and WSP I checked the price on 1 case of wax that weighed the same - shipping on 1 case ranged from $16.84 to $24.71 - not surprisingly, the further away from me the supplier, the more the shipping charges. But each of these suppliers' shipping charges seem to be pretty much in line with each other IMO I did have an issue with WSP one time though - when I first started out I was going to order a Sampler pack of the Low Smoke Zinc wicks - I think the price on them were around $7.00 and change and they wanted that much or more to ship them (can't remember the exact amount now - I am old and my memory is gone so sue me) - I even called and questioned them on this, the basic response was even though these weighed next to nothing and could be sent via USPS for almost nothing, they didn't ship that way - The way I see it is - it is their product and their choice on how they ship and run their business. But I also see it as it is MY money and MY choice on who I order from - and I have never ordered anything from them for the simple fact that I have found everything I wanted thus far from a supplier closer to me, and thus at a cheaper price to me. (Still haven't tried those Low Smoke Zincs yet tho) Will I ever order from them? Sure I will if they have something I want that I can get from them cheaper than I can somewhere else. Bottom line, I always check the price before I order ANYTHING and that includes the total price with shipping charges. I am always checking other suppliers to see how their prices compare against each other. The closest supplier to me who carries the wax I use is just north of me in Missouri - Morris Wax - but they aren't the cheapest for me - even thought they are in another state, they said they will charge me sales tax in addition to shipping charges so my wax comes to me from Texas - When the time comes that I want to order a pallet and make a 2 1/2 to 3 hour drive one way I am sure I will get it from them because it will save me money. And that's the bottom line.
  5. Speaking of Lone Star - I got this in my e-mail box a couple days ago - Lone Star Candle Supply Holiday Schedule Our regular business hours of 9-5 M-F will be in effect through Friday, December 16th. 15. I think I may have found what you need by searching the net Candle Making - from beginner to expert by Bob Sherman February 2002 from M. Evans & Company, Inc. 216 East 49th Street New York, NY 10017 hth
  16. Helpful Hint #1 - ALWAYS take the time to screw the top securely back on your liquid colorant IMMEDIATELY after using it - no matter how much of a hurry you are in or how confident you feel because you have done this enough times now and you have your "routine" down. Failure to take heed of Helpful Hint #1 could result in the distinct possibility of knocking over a full frickin' bottle of red liquid dye - having the top just placed on it and not screwed on tightly means that that same frickin' full frickin' bottle of red frickin' dye will now be all over you, your work area and everything else you can possibly imagine. Not that this happened to me this afternoon or anything - ummmm - It is just a hint I thought of - Yeah, that's it. Helpful Hint #2 - If you do accidently knock over a full bottle of red frickin' dye, rubbing alcohol will help in your attempt to remove said dye from your body santa roll
  17. Nothing to say about Candlewic one way or the other really - have ordered a couple small things from them before and had no problems that I can recall nor anything great that stands out that makes them special to me And that was said mainly so I wouldn't be totally hijacking the thread here - what I really am posting for is to say - Hi katinka and welcome to the board! South Africa? It is so cool to have people from all over the world here on the board who all share this same addiction! Looking forward to seeing your work
  18. hey prairieannie - what's your favorite fragrance? ( <------ because it's harder to hit a moving target)
  19. As far as how to get it down - we would always just take out a shotgun and shoot it out of the trees! (seriously!) yup - a definite country boy here lol and I would suggest that you NOT try that little trick if you happen to live "in town" and notice you have mistletoe growing in the tree in your back yard santa eek santa cool <------- I like this one!
  20. There was a thread on this one time but for the life of me I can't remember what the name of it was to help you search for it I do remember that thread made me think of something and I went to my state's government website - In the search box I typed in "Festival" and it brought up 10 pages of links - Typed in "Craft Show" and it brought up about the same - Many of these festivals, etc have their own web site which is linked and has all details including contact info All links won't be relavant of course, but this is one way to find a few in the particular area that you would be interested in hth
  21. First and foremost, welcome Mark! (Has anyone else noticed that all the great men in history are named Mark? ummmm well - can't think of any offhand at the moment but being that my name is Mark also I just had to try that one) And secondly I am NOT a weirdo - I prefer "unique" - it pretty much means the same but sounds much nicer . . . .
  22. I concur with the other opinions Granted, there probably would not be a problem - BUT Why risk it? It bothered you enough that you not only considered that someone else might complain but even emailed her already and told her no At least this way you won't the have the possibilty of something happening that makes you look back and ask yourself "Why in the world did I go and change my mind?!?!?" This will just be one less thing to worry about as the days fly by and the show approaches - and we all know that you will have plenty enough to worry about without adding to the list! (edited cuz I left a word or two out - but actually that is an improvement over my normal posts so i'm proud of myself!)
