  1. nevermind, I found the answer to my own ?. For those who were curious -- CS has a height of 2" and CW has 1.75"
  2. Okay, i'm on a question asking roll tonight. I'm thinking of buying my molds from CS and am curious if anyone knows if the square seamless votive molds they sell are the same dimensions/size as the ones from candlewic? There are dimensions on CS's site, but not candlewic...
  3. Really? I always add my fo right before I have to pour (200 for my palm candles). There are just some scents that smell great either way and some that lose their potency after the candle comes out of the mold.
  4. I've been thinking of doing poly bags as well. They're a cheap alternative, but can look nice if you add a great looking hang tag or sticker.
  5. Okay -- I'm completely overwhelmed by the different waxes and wicks that can be used for each type. Does anyone have advice on how to choose good wicks for their wax beit paraffin, blends, soy or palm (I use palm for pillars and will be using the same for containers)? Or links that would help me? I have no idea what the numbers mean (46-14-14 --keep in mind, I totally just pulled that out my rear, but I'm sure you know what I mean) and I've been hesitating in coming out and directly asking as I'd seem like a 'tard. But, I can't find what I'm trying to figure out myself, so I'm asking for the help of this extremely helpful community. Help a girl figure out wicks!
  6. Interesting! Thanks for the replies everyone. I think I may look into spools for my bigger candles once I start working on them.
  7. I'm curious-- do you girls/guys do this yourself? Or do you buy already tabbed? i've bought all tabbed, but am curious if you find that doing it yourself works better? Also, the ones I've gotten have wax around the core, but I've seen people's candles with no wax on the wick at all... what's the difference?
  8. oh those look so good! I love the mixing of colors too -- makes for something to catch the eye. The votives are my fave!!!! I love votives. haha
  9. Wow! That looks great! I have yet to get items or displays for my stuff come craft show time in December! Eeek! What are ornies btw?
  10. A little! I need to get wicks with more heat resistant coating on them. I put the wicks in a little earlier than I probably should have and they started bending! I had to stay there and keep them as straight as possible. So either wait a little longer before I put them in, or different wicks.
  11. My fave has to be that square one! But they're all so pretty!
  12. :highfive: Great job! Those turned out sweet!
  13. Witchypoo -- haha. I love how these turned out!
  14. Oh gosh! This is absolutely marvelous! I love the color combo and I can see the glitter. Would love to see how this turns out when it's cut and ready to go. Super work!
  15. haha! I love how you anticipated you'd get ?s regarding the container. I love how the colors progress through the product. This looks awesome!
  16. Those look great! I'm curious to know how well these go over too. I'm sure they'll do just fine. The colors and scent combos sound nice.
  17. Hmmm... something is odd here -- not seeing any pics!!!
  18. Oooh! I can only hope mine turn out that nice when I start making pillars. They look great!
  19. I have a Mals account (still not sure if that's what I'll use in my final site) but if you need some help and can give me more detailed instructions on what you're trying to do, I can only see what I can do?
  20. Super! I've been looking for the same thing. I'm on etsy too soapmaker man. Will add you to my faves for safe keeping. haha
  21. Ooooh! Those are pretty! And YAY for first craft shows! haha I have my first one in December and I haven't really made much to get ready for it. I do hope you let us know how it turned out for you!
  22. You know, I got this wax 'cause it said that it was feathering. All I get is crystallized coloring. I'm not complaining as look at the outcome, but any clue as to why I'm not getting the feathered look? Again, using Astorlite F
  23. I've come with another link to making a lightbox on the cheap. I'm going to give this a go over the weekend. I'll have to post my results later for those interested. http://strobist.blogspot.com/2006/07/how-to-diy-10-macro-photo-studio.html
  24. Just throwing my two cents in. While I'm not sure if being given 'promotional spots' on this site you were talking about in your first post is the best idea, I think I know what she means about better pictures. I don't think it's the ones of your actual product. I'm sure she's talking about the 'stretching' that is occuring on pictures that seem to be of certain scents. Like this one for example http://www.justrightcandles.com/store/images/sprucechristmastree200x100.jpg The dimensions are off. The tree looks smooshed. And this one on your main page... http://www.justrightcandles.com/UserFiles/Image/egg%20nog300.jpg again it looks stretched horizontally and smooshed vertically a bit I'm sure the gal helping you with your pics can help you sort that out as well as it's pretty easy to fix. This stuff can seem pretty nit-picky, but it definately helps your shop presence and is also mentally tied in with professionalism and quality.
