  1. Sweet Holiday Blend Coffee from Lone Star. https://www.lonestarcandlesupply.com/sweet-holiday-blend-coffee.html Black Vetiver Cafe (Jo Malone dupe), but we will have to let someone recommend one that is currently sold as the one I got in the past was discontinued. Marshmallow Pumpkin Latte (like B&BW). I just ordered a small bottle from WSP to try, but I would love to hear from the rest of you how that is from other vendors (like Just Scent) as they are possibly going to be less expensive. Though WSP has these 25% sales every now and then that help, but things being what they are now who knows when that's going to happen again.
  2. I read of a designer perfume with rooibos tea, orange, and cinnamon. Does that not sound lovely?
  3. I mentioned grass specifically in another post recently but can we discuss green FOs in general? Anything that smells like grass and other plants, herbal, a jungle, your yard at night, clover in March, pines and firs and birch and whatever is fresh and plant-like or some kind of a green note to you. Here's one that's not necessarily plant-like: I have Green Amber from Nature's Garden. I love it, but it's not really a nature type of scent. Their description is "amber woods, oakmoss, vetiver, and galbanum, surrounded with citrus top notes of bergamot and violet petals, and base notes of vanilla and sheer musk". I really enjoy it, but it is also perfumey. It's softly green but not really something you use to feel like bringing the great outdoors to inside.
  4. Bumping to see if we have new input. I'm on this lemon tea kick now because I'm trying to recreate a discontinued favorite perfume oil that was lemon tea & vanilla.
  5. A few more are on my radar now. Anybody tried these: Cinnamon Irish Cream (this could be an "Autumn vanilla" I was after in another post) A Thousand Wishes Type Barefoot in the Grass (the description doesn't sound very grassy, though) Believe In Magic (buttered sugary vanilla) Bewitched (pear, nuts, woods, musk; doesn't sound bewitching; does sound early-Autumn) Bluebell  (Jo Malone dupe) Bye-Bye Summer Chicks Dig It (candy) Cider Lane (cider, caramel, cinnamon; yes, I'm dreaming of Fall already) Country Boy (I never knew country boys smelled like orange zest & Kaffir lime but OK) Beautiful Day Elsa's Frozen Magic Exhale (clean and spa-like) Gentlemen Only Glass Slipper (their names are screwy but the scent descriptions sound great; this one seems a bit Italian to me; lemon, orange, lime, sugared mint, verbena, orange blossom, Italian Cedarwood and light musk) Gypsy Soul Hocus Pocus (spiced vanilla with butter and sugar) In the Stars Karma Magnolia Mid-Summer Nights Moonflower Morocco Orchid & Pink Amber Namaste Oud & Bergamot Practical Magic Puttin' on the Ritz Rock 'n Rose Rose Quartz Rush of Rose Sauvage Secret Wonderland Just a few...
  6. WSP's is on sale right now: https://www.wholesalesuppliesplus.com/products/mahogany-teakwood-fragrance-oil.aspx
  7. Paraffin. It's recycled dinosaurs that wouldn't be used for anything else anyway.
  8. That does help, thank you. And I did stumble on In the Stars at Just Scent: https://www.justscent.com/in-the-stars-fragrance-oil-type.html And they have Nutmeg Spice and Pumpkin Marshmallow Latte I was wanting too. Woohoo!
  9. I have been looking around for In the Stars and Into the Night, but I think those two are too new, too niche and not popular enough to turn up in FOs (at least not yet). But in looking for these I found White Citrus at Candlemaker's Store which is a discontinued fave of mine, and they have a ton of other B&BW scents. And I have got to order Marshmallow Pumpkin Latte for next Fall because that is one of my OMG-buy-too-much-there-so-might-as-well-make-products scents. So all this got me to wondering about general comments from you guys on the various suppliers B&BW offerings. What do you think?
  10. Oooo, found a Spring Meadow at Candlemaker's Store: https://thecandlemakersstore.com/fragrances/fragrance-categories/bath-body-types/spring-meadow.html
  11. Russian olive supposedly smells amazing, but all I can find is somebody's Etsy listing for a roll-on scented with this (and the ingredients mention fragrance oil too, so it's possible that's the main scent contributor there) and seeds and discussion about it being an invasive species. I was hoping to find an EO somewhere. Or maybe there's actually an FO of it? I don't need it for aromatherapy so it doesn't HAVE to be EO; FO would work fine for the scent. While I was looking I came across this Immortelle absolute. Does this not sound just divine: Aroma: Very sweet, herbaceous, hay-like, honeyed aroma with a smoky tobacco and musk-like undertone https://www.edenbotanicals.com/immortelle-absolute.html?utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&adpos=&scid=scplp435-4&sc_intid=435-4&gclid=EAIaIQobChMI2trZ2PqV6QIVysDACh1qfw-UEAQYASABEgL-pvD_BwE
  12. @NightLight who makes that Karma dupe you like? @chevcher I see now there's a Mill Creek order in my future..... Y'all, I found Candle Science Moon Lake Musk in my pile, mixed it with some alcohol, and this is absolutely looooooovely. It reminds me of Bonne Bell Skin Musk from back in the day. I also did up a little of that Heaven Scent Musk, THEN looked at the label, and it was candles only. I used it up by spraying it on my clothes and just avoiding skin (shrug). It also is quite nice, and a soft musk and not skanky, but is long since gone from anybody purchasing it now. I also made a roll-on of some old Tony's Dragon Blood I found a sample of (who's carries Tony's/Southern Garden Scents now? I can't remember...), and it is wonderful but it only takes a tiny dab to do you. Gotta try that Nature's Garden Dark Musk next, and for some reason I've gotten a craving for a green musk so this is happening soon too: Nature's Garden Green Amber
  13. What are some good straight-up grass FOs, and how about some that might have some other elements like a meadow? Something natural, outdoorsy, that might seem like you were out on a picnic. Florals are OK as long as it's not extremely or completely just floral. Does that make sense? I'm really going for that "running through a meadow" idea here.
  14. On a related note, have any of your tried Hayward Enterprises? I poke around on Fragrantica a lot and I've seen them brought up. They mention "Candle & Craft Oil" but I've not bought any from them (yet). I saw some high praise for their designer fragrance dupes, and a lot of perfume fans are noticing reformulations of much-loved designer brands and have started looking at dupes like this. Even if we have the money and are perfectly willing to pay designer prices, it's useless if your favorite scents have changed significantly or are discontinued. https://www.haywardenterprises.com/
  15. Good gravy, I may make an order just for a couple gallons of this.....
  16. I never did see a sale from these rascals at the first of the year, and I checked for weeks. They probably aren't going to have one now, for a while anyway. 😕 Any of you have their Baby Magic? It's on my radar now. Would appreciate any other discussion about them too, as it looks like this itch isn't going to get scratched 'til I finally place an order.
  17. You want the least amount of FO you can get by with to still get a good scent throw, paired with the the right size HTP wick, and trim trim trim. Also how drafty is it where you're testing? Honestly that's not something you can control when the candle is in someone else's house, but I've noticed the more draft hitting my candles, the more they throw soot.
  18. I love NG's Cracklin Birch, but it smells very perfumey to me. It's a great "clean" type of scent. I'm going to say Rustic Escentuals Redwood.
  19. I keep hand sanitizers in purse and trucks, so I'm cutting down a good bit of cooties like that. A few years ago I got sicker than I had been in a while, and I think I picked up a bug from handling a gas pump nozzle. Since then, I also keep gloves in my trucks for when I'm filling up. You're never going to eradicate them all, but more than likely I've avoided at least a few colds and flu bouts I could've contacted along the way. Looks like Lush is one of the ones now cutting back in order to reduce its traveling around. This is all awful, but maybe with them and everybody else taking these measures now, not to mention the scientists in overdrive working on cures and vaccines, this thing will be beat.
  20. I don't put produce up to my face and take a deep sniff, and I wash it before using. Lush encourages putting something in your face and sniffing. Makeup testers have got to be the WORST. I may swatch a lipstick tester on my hand, then I go in their bathroom and scrub it off before I leave the store. But some people apply it their lips and EEEEWWW. I'm with you on people acting right, but they ain't gonna.
  21. I'm kinda hoping this whole scare makes a lot of companies think about things like this and put some more hygienic practices in place.
  22. I worked on organizing some of my FO's yesterday, and I made a new category for myself with a box labeled "Hippie". These are what I have and am putting in that category: Dark Musk --- Nature's Garden Egyptian Dragon --- Nature's Garden Egyptian Dragon --- Oregon Trails Goddess --- Old Mill Majmua --- Nemat International Mary Jane --- Peak Mayan Musk --- Nature's Garden Moon Shadows --- Heaven Scent Musk --- Heaven Scent Nile Queen --- Bramble Berry Patchouli --- Peak Scheherazade --- The Scent Works Strawberry Musk --- Old Mill; don't know how this one compares to RE's Violet Musk --- Green Leaf Sad that so many of these wonderful companies are out of business now.
  23. These are notes in a very expensive perfume called Thundra Perfumum Roma. I didn't think it sounded so hot at first but these are some of the comments I've seen in reviews about it: damp forest, soil, mushrooms, rotten wood, woods after rain, a cool root cellar, mint and musk add freshness, cold and wet, forest in Autumn, wet leaves, has lavender-like and pine-ish qualities. We've discussed on here trying to nail down that petrichor type of scent, and while I'm sure the perfume house has much more than just mint, musk, and patchouli in it, I thought this might be interesting enough to some of you to do some q-tip experiments. You could round it out with other notes if you thought it was lacking something after blending those 3.
