  1. ohh I like those. I love the colors also.
  2. Glad everything turned out alright. Scary tho I know. That is one of my worst fears is fire. I would have been in a panic.
  3. for containers and pillars can I get that is mostly translucent? Any help on this would be appreciated. TIA
  4. Thanks all for looking and the kind words about my candles. I guess I am too hard on myself but after viewing all the candles posted here by you expert chandlers, I think mine are all fugly Mtgirl your monitor is okay, I got a bit of rustic on them and don't know how that happened cuz I was just going for the chunky. Guess I'll test those and try to see if I can make some more just like them. (yeah right LOL) Donita, we would get along great if you like to ramble, but we might fight to see who is the queen of ramble.... Thanks again to all of you.
  5. I want to thank Peaks and Alan for sending me my backordered FO by priority mail. They kept me up to date by email and when I got it, I had a hand written note at the bottom that said "thank you for your patience." Now how many other companies would do that. Alan I must say that Peak ROCKS and I love the company and the polite way I am treated everytime I place and order. Thanks again.
  6. Those look devine. I love the shaving on top also. Gonna have to order more FO from Peak so guess I'll order carrot cake. When DH runs me out of the house, can I come stay with one of you all
  7. Those are great looking, love the colors and I bet it smells as good as it looks. Great job.:smiley2:
  8. Thanks all,I guess I'm my own worst critic. I used the red/burgandy chunks because I love red ornaments on a Christmas tree. I know the colors are odd but wanted to experiment. Thanks again and Donna my daughter thanks you all for the nice words about her handmade bags. She does those at night while watching TV, you can't keep her still long enough during the day. She and her hubby moved in with us when DH got real sick. Don't know what I'd do without her. She has been doing just about all the housework ,cooking and keeping my flowers weeded and doing some yard work, she's a work-acholic when I start to do something, she has a fit and tells me to go rest or make some candles. Gotta love those kids. :smiley2: Dang didn't mean to ramble.:rolleyes2
  9. I love them. I gotta stop looking at this gallery, makes me wanna try everything. :smiley2: Those are great.
  10. very pretty. Love the colors also. :smiley2:
  11. love them. Great job, now I want some candy corn or just anything sweet. :smiley2:
  12. Those are fantastic. I love the colors and the streaks in them. They are the bestest. :smiley2:
  13. Those are beautiful. Love the texture and colors. Wow:smiley2:
  14. Made these candles today, wanted a chunky got part chunky part whatever :rolleyes2 just plain fugly. FO is Spruce Christmas Tree. One pic has some of the giftbags my daughter made. She hasn't got the handles on them yet. I think they (the bags) look nice.
  15. DanaE, will post some pics of the gift bags as soon as she gets the handles made for them. There is hardly two alike. I was into scrapbooking awhile back and had lots of thick pretty papers that I didn't use so she has been making them out of those. Think she might have got the crafting bug from me. :smiley2: I'm like AlaJane I live about as far north in AL as you can get. We live about 10 miles from the TN line. We live on a mountain and I love it in the summer, but in the winter sometimes it can be a mess. 12 years ago in March we were snowed in for 3 days, power was off for about 36 hours, but I am used to the snow as I lived in Northwest Indiana for 10 years when I was growing up and snow is just a regular part of life during the winter. Not that I have anything against Indiana, I wouldn't go back there again. I love living here on this mountain top :smiley2: Guess I'm just a redneck at heart.
  16. Thanks DanaE. Maybe I will play with all the stuff I want to. It's hard not to try different things. I have been crafting for over 20 years and all my family was always telling me I had too many things going at one time, but heck that's what made them fun. Same with candles, I just keep experimenting and believe me I have made some messes, but I go back and try to find a remedy. I have made notes on my containers, now trying to make notes on the others, but I admit, I don't write everything down, but gotta start doing that, cuz my daughter is in this with me and man is she picky picky picky. She doesn't make any candles (yet) but she's keeping up with what I spend and she's even making hand made gift bags, they look great, will have to post some pics of them when she gets the handles made on them.Well I rambled on and got off the subject. Thanks again.
  17. Thanks all. Writing down the wax types so later on I can play a little, that is if I ever get testing all the other candles I've made. I got the 8 ounce JJ down with my wicking and fo,finally got all those tested, now got to test my chunkies, grubbies and regular pillars. I will know next time to stick to one kind of candle at a time, but every time I see these great candles everyone post, I think I have to try it. But believe me I have learned a great lesson. Don't bite off more than I can chew. :rolleyes2
  18. How do you make a mottled candle. I searched the board but came up with nothing, unless I overlooked it. I'm not planning on making any now but would like to know what kind of wax to use and well, just how to make them. Any help would be appreciated. TIA
  19. Great job. Love the colors and the presentation looks great too.
  20. Fear not, one of you ingenuis chandlers will probably come up with something better, or make your own. I have faith in all of you, sure wish I had it in me. Those are neat tho.
  21. I tried one a couple weeks ago but didn't wick it, matter of fact had to remelt and never have repoured again. Didn't get the right color or the right texture. I'm like you I'd like to know how to do this also. Sorry I couldn't help, just learning myself. Maybe somebody here can help you. :smiley2:
  22. Love those shelves. I'm so jealous, I want some of those.:smiley2:
  23. Looks so real. I tried to do a orange chiffon cake, well needless to say, I am remelting for the second time. LOL Not as talented as you. You make great looking candles.
