    also some of the dyes or FO have something in them that will cause your microwave to arc and might catch on fire. Ask me how I know.

    Made my first cane this afternoon, didn't try embedding anything,just wanted to see if I could make a basic one. It's still in the mold, but geeze what a mess, the inside is all bumpy and lumpy what in the world did I do wrong:confused: Leave it to me to make a mess.

    I use the J50 but use the liquid dyes and my colors are real clear I haven't used any of the color chips so I don't know if that could be the problem or not. I'm new at this myself.

    I didn't get a pic on that one either but it will be tall enough for the ones that I have made. I didn't make them with a candle mold. I bought some silicone rose cinnis bakeware at walmart, they are about 2 high and and about 4 in diameter. They really work great, pop right out of the mold and the detail is great. and they burn great to. Didn't want to spend high dollar for a mold right now so went the cheap way to practice. Gotta save those dollars for more FO, since I think I need everyone that is made.

    That's what I was thinking about and googled til I'm dizzy I found this on place that has about every kind of plastic hinged containers and it doesn't seem to expensive to me but you have to have at least a 25 dollar order. Here's the link http://www.plasticcontainercity.com/products.html It's the cheapest place I've found. One container I was looking at was .19 each. Was thinking about ordering some, but don't want to buy 25 bucks worth til I see if they sell or not. Thanks

    Thanks all!! I'll just play around with my pillar wax for my own personal use til I get the hang of it. Don't want to make something that some careless person might burn their house down. After I think I can make a decent one I'll get some cane wax then make some to sell. Thanks again. Ya'll are the greatest, don't know what I'd do without the help of this board. Have a great day.

    Can you use pillar wax to make a hurricane candle, or do you need to buy the hurrican wax??? yep anothe dumb question from this fairly newbie.

    I poured about 20 candles last night, was going to pour some new FO from Peaks, but had to quit because it was do darn hot. Didn't do anything tonight but put some hang tags on the ones that had been tested and didn't do much of that because the room was so hot. We're supposed to get rain (I think ) tomorrow and I am really looking forward to it..can't wait til fall gets here. It's 5 a.m and it's about 87 now, can't imagine what it's gonna be later on the day.

    Yehaw...... Got my first order yesterday, not a very big one but my son-in-laws aunt belongs to a birthday candle club. She needs 14 container candles and the other ones in the club just might order from me. Thankfully I've spent the last 2 weeks testing. I know I'm not gonna get rich doing this, but even a small order thrilled me.
