  1. Yep you're right and they do take the time to send an email and explain what is going on, and they did offer to send me a refund, but of course I don't want a refund. Peaks has the best FO that I have used so I'd rather wait on my FO than to settle for a FO from another company that doesn't smell as good. They are right on the money most of the time. They are my fav to order from. Just as Fire and Ice put it, Peaks rock.
  2. Tuesday I ordered cinnamon, jamacia Me crazy, and coconut milk, got the Jamacia me crazy and coconut milk Friday, I knew the cinnamon was on back order, but thought it wouldn't take too long to get it because once before I ordered cinnamon bun on back order but it only took 3 days longer to get it. I got an email Friday saying that a lot of FO that were back ordered got put on the wrong trucks and it might be the 18th or 19th before they could be sent out.
  3. I just made a couple of pillars yesterday and took them out of the mold. They look okay but my molds have the seam, how do I get rid of the seam line on my candles??
  4. Thanks. I was just wondering. I'm kinda dense when it comes to all these laws and things. Thanks again. I have to ask to learn. :smiley2:
  5. May be this is a dumb question, but the FPLA is pertaining to the Food and Drug laws, so since candles are neither food or drug, would this still pertain to candles??
  6. I love the crackled effect. One of these days I'm gonna try one of those, but first gotta get the basic pillar right. :smiley2:
  7. I like it it, would be a shame to remelt it.
  8. I love that one also. Yep I'd say you are the queen of grubbies. How about giving me some tips.
  9. I really like that. Looks like a real cake. Great work. Now I want a piece of cake to go with my coffee.
  10. Thanks to all of you. Makes me feel like I'm doing something right. One of DH friends came to visit today and I had one of the cinnis sealed in a cello bag and I handed it to him. and he smelled of it and was gonna open it and start eating. When I told he I didn't think it would taste so good, he looked at it closer and saw the wick, and he couldn't believe it was a candle. That really made my day. Of course you all have made my day also. Thanks again.
  11. wow, I love those. I like he tall ones best but I love them all. Great job. I attempted a couple pillars last night and I will be remelting them tonight. After seeing these. I wouldn't dare post the ones I made.
  12. Great job. That looks so real. I'm glad I'm drinking a cup of coffee now or I'd have to go get a capppuchino. That one makes the one I made look pitiful. Guess I'll have to practice more. How did you get that froth on top to look so real?? Any tips would be appreciated. Again that looks great.
  13. My son came up with my name of Lola's Lights. My hubbys cousin gave me the nick name of Lola, he said I had the temper of an Italian so he began calling me Lola and it stuck, so my son said "mom how about Lola's Lights?" So thats how I got mine.
  14. Those are great. I love the dragonfly best also. Great job. I wanna do those one day, but I can't even do a grubby too well so I can just imagine what a mess I'd make.
  15. Those look great. Really love the layering.
  16. Thanks all. Yep it is a little dark. Gotta go a little lighter and next time I'm not gonna spend umteen hours on one candle (I hope) After Scents told me how to do a grubby I felt so stupid doing it the way I did. I thought DUH I shoulda known that. LOL
  17. Thanks. I don't think it looks good, but I'm not crazy about grubbies either but a lot of people like them. You wouldn't believe how I made that. Before Scents gave me some instructions on how to make grubbies I was gonna make that cake look like orange coconut and cooled the wax, and scraped it off the cold wax kept crumpling it up and zapped the mini cake with the heat gun but heck, it wouldn't stay on there, candle cooled too soon, so I just kept sprinkling and smushing that stuff all over it and said the heck with it and zapped it good with the heat gun. You wouldn't believe the time I spent on that dang thing. I was ready to pull my hair off. Well guess that's more than ya'll ever wanted to know about that grubby.
  18. What no comments on that great looking grubby. LOL come on now, I know it's fugly, so go ahead tell me it could be a lot better, I'm a big girl, I can take it.
  19. Thanks to you all for the compliments. I just want to make some good looking candles that burn great and smell great. I'll just keep practicing and maybe one of these days, I'll do great work like you great chandlers. Thanks again.
  20. Those are all great. I love the corn best of all tho. They look soooo real. Good work. Like the others said, they look too good to melt.
  21. Here is the orange chiffon cake grubby that doesn't look that good, but I'm trying. The other one is a container I made with the same FO but didn't get the color dark enough. I guess you all are getting tired of my pics of these practice candles, but like I said, can't stop taking pics:D
  22. Thanks to all. And you're right it is a mini loaf pan. I went the cheap way while practicing. Thought I might get some mini glass loafs later on. I made two of them. gonna test one tonight. It was fun to make. I will post more pics. I have a real fungly orange chiffon cake fo grubby that I made before I knew how to do the grubbys and I'm too embarrassed to tell you how I made it. LOL Will post it later. Thanks again.
