  1. Well, Mr. Brown Britches finally showed up with my order. Julie.....OMG.....Euphoria.... DH walked by, sniffed, and placed an order. YUMMAH! That man is in trouble now. Hehehe. Black Code. Hmpf. I don't know. I keep sniffing it. I've never smelled the original so can't compare if it's accurate or not....and it does match it's description of lemon, bergamont, hints of orange etc. Don't get me wrong...I think I like it...very clean....but I'm thinking I used to have a furniture polish that smelled similar. :tiptoe: :tiptoe: :tiptoe: <gasp! Did she really say that about Armani? Dude should have stuck w/ suits!> Oh...I also got Cherry Blossom.....it's VERY nice.....and I can't keep my nose out of Very Sexy for Her. Hehehe. Donna
  2. Hmpf. :undecided I wonder if I got a bum batch or something? OOB it smells awesome. But my soap....nada....and I used none of the "scent stealers". Looks like this batch goes into the "family box" of soaps. Thanks for the info, guys! Donna
  3. Oh man, I suck at describing scents. Have you smelled the originals? Let's see.... Amazing Grace is sort of fresh and clean with a hint, just a hint, of floral Baby Grace is fresh and clean...some say w/ a hint of powder... *I* get jasmine....which makes it my favorite Pure Grace is fresh and clean like soap and water fresh I used to be a philosophy ho before I started doing this myself. LOL. I'm sure FBD's Falling in Love is good too.....I just abhored the original, so never have ordered it. Maybe someone that does better describing scents will chime in.....
  4. I think some of you may have....from reading the Scent Review board..... How'd it go? I soaped it 4 weeks ago and have ZERO scent. I'm ticked. GRRRR. Donna
  5. Julie, do you mean Fragrances by Design? I've never heard of Design on Fragrances! Well....IF you DO mean FBD....thanks for the info on Euphoria! I have that, Angel, Sweet Temptations, Very Sexy for Her and Black Code coming today. That is, if Mr. Brown Britches ever shows up! I've used quite a bit from there: Blue Sugar - TOTALLY LICKABLE Nectarine Blossom & Honey - Haven't smelled the original, but my MIL says it's dead on accurate Irish Spring - TOTALLY ROCKS Burberry London - Dead on accurate (soaps nice too) Amazing Grace - Dead on....same as Scent Works, but cheaper Baby Grace - Dead on, same as TSW, but cheaper Pure Grace - Dead on, same as TSW, but cheaper I'm thinking I have something else too...but I can't put my finger on it. Donna
  6. Well, hmpf. My order was #1558 and I still haven't heard anything. I only ordered 3 oils, and this would be a new supplier for me (not like I needed one!), so I guess no biggie if my order gets canceled. I'll just wait and see. Donna
  7. Luci, To my nose, they are the same oil. Fragrance by Design is cheaper and WAY faster on shipping (literally she ships within hours....SW....days). I haven't CP'd it yet though. How much did you use ppo? I will try it soon, hopefully (so many oils, so little time!). Donna
  8. I have both the Pure Grace from Scent Works and Fragrances by Design. I love it too. I will be re-purchasing Fragrances by Design. Donna
  9. Depends. How good is your scale? Mine won't go out to 4.736. With my scale, I would round it to 4.74 oz. The 5% superfat gives you a little bit of fudge room. Donna
  10. It doesn't look too bad at all. Personally, I would round the coconut to 30% and the palm to 20%, just so you don't get totally funky weights (like 9.92oz!). Or even better....I'd drop the coconut to 25% and up the castor to 10%. The bar isn't as hard (Still hard enough), but the conditioning and lather qualities goes up. With 45% olive, it will be slower to trace....which is a good thing! Especially for a newbie. You may need to give it a bit more time in the mold w/ that much olive oil. I would not worry about discounting yet, not until you get much more comfortable with how the lye will react and just the whole soaping processing in general. (JMHO, of course!) Looks like you have the hang of it. I can lose hours playing in Soapcalc. Have fun! And remember.....we all *need* to see pictures. It's what feeds us all. HAHA. Donna
  11. I use 1/4 oz FO to 12 oz of soap base. That's just me though. My M&P soaps are pretty strongly fragranced. What M&P base are you using? I use the SFIC bases from Peaks. The base I used was Silk & Shea base from another supplier and even before I added the FO, the soap was oily....tacky & sticky even. So, it could be the base you are using, not just the FO. Donna
  12. To find out how many ounces of oils your mold will hold you use this formula: length (inches) x width x height (depth you want to pour) x .4 That will give you a rough estimate of the oil weight.
  13. Fragrances By Design has awesome designer dupes, IMO. I am not sure if she has all those you've listed, but she has some. Donna
  14. I tried NG's...and it was nice. Then I tried Tony's and it was FANTASTIC. (Luci...not sure about Backwoods...but Tony's did try to curdle during soaping....I beat it into submission though and it came out lovely...just a warning!) Donna
  15. Thanks for the thoughts, guys! Donna
  16. Ugh....normally I don't have any problems renaming scents....but I'm stumped with these two. Vanilla Bean Noel Winter Candy Apple Anyone have their creative hats on this morning????? Thanks! Donna
  17. I can vouch for Fragrance By Design's Irish Spring too! Dead on dupe. My DH loves it! I've CP'd it and Denise's description is right, no discoloration and no acceleration. My bars, 6 months old now, are still white and green, just like I colored them and they smell wonderful! Donna
  18. http://www.thesage.com/catalog/UniqueItems.html#5ozRectangleClamshells Here you go....second one down from the top...
  19. Yup. Sometime it can take days.... You could try putting in the freezer for a bit....that might work. Donna
  20. MA....I want to say it's $3 something here for the canned goat's milk....like $3.59. I'll check tomorrow when I'm at the store. I can get the canned coconut milk by Goya for about the same price.....I haven't looked at it to see if it has guar gum though. Not sure if that helped or not....:tiptoe:
  21. Maybe this will help.... http://www.candletech.com/forums/showthread.php?t=58487&highlight=label At one point in this thread, I gave the layout settings that I use for my 2" circle labels. They come out perfect every time. Donna
  22. Rapture Sorry...it's the only thing that popped into my head!
  23. HA! And THAT is why I sold mine to Grumpy Girl and now I use wooden log molds that I line w/ freezer paper. I guess it works better if you discount the water...... Donna
  24. I love these threads too! My must haves are: Sun, Moon and Stars Bubblegum Butt Naked Lick Me All Over Coconut Lime Verbena Monkey Farts Coconut Cream Pie Hugs, Donna
  25. Peak's Lemon Pound Cake is nice.... Backwood's Lemon Tart is simply scrumptious!!
