  1. I use Peak's feather also. Are scenty's warmers really that crappy? I want to get one to test but even used on ebay nothing is less than $20.00. It's crazy I've seen them $50 and above. People really pay that much for a warmer?
  2. I made my husband run to the store and buy a 25w bulb. My warmers have 35w in them. So far it's melting the palm just the same.
  3. OH jeez I'm so tempted now to try this out. I am now paranoid that my palm won't melt in low watt bulbs. I hate to be a pest but do you have a pic of what yours look like, curious to see what the crystals look like. Thanks for all your info :0)
  4. I would love to try this but I don't want to have to start all over again. What temps do you add fo and pour at?
  5. I use feather palm and have been testing for the past year. Everything has worked out great. They throw amazing. I test with a tealight and a bulb warmer and have yet to come across them not melting except for when it's a crappy tealight. I do worry about other people having low wattage bulbs or etsy warmers. I have yet to test in an etsy warmer. I want to buy one but spending $30 on a warmer is crazy. I'm trying to get a line out for fall. I'm on my final round of testing everything again(3rd time around) to make sure I think everything is strong and throws well.
  6. Anyone use this? I'm currently testing it out. It definitely smells like blueberry but I don't get a blueberry muffin out of it. I'm not even sure I like the blueberry smell to it either. Opinions on it?
  7. Yeah I'd like to know how they are too. They have decent pricing and I'd like to try them out.
  8. Well I guess it's time for me to toss some out. Sometimes I feel I'll forget things if I don't keep them. I'm getting old haha.
  9. I tried a few candy corn's the past week. They both smell vanilla-y to me. I guess that is what candy corn is supposed to be? It's not what I expected but I want to still carry candy corn for the fall.
  10. Just curious if anyone keeps them just so they can remember the scent? I keep track of all my testing but I do keep the 1 ozers that I have that are empty and I think are keepers.
  11. I plan just doing melts for now. I have a few different ways I'm going to sell them. I did candles in the past but I don't think I'll do them again. Who knows though I may someday try B&B, for some reason B&B scares me.
  12. Thanks everyone for the responses, keep em coming. I think Steel Valley Scents is winning now. Haha I hate making decisions.
  13. So after sitting on this for a week, I did come up with another possible name. Steel Valley Scents. Steel Valley is a homage to the area I'm from. So it's either rust belt melts or steel valley scents. I appreciate everyone's opinion.
  14. That's cool it's similar to what I do. I use google drive which I love cause it's accessible everywhere so when I was at work I'd update and research like crazy. Until last week when they blocked drive. Thanks for sharing
  15. I agree there are some really amazing things but I kept running into ones last night that look like they don't give a crap and just throw things on there hoping they'd sell.
  16. I don't know if this has been posted before but Candlescience sells on Amazon. They are a bit more expensive and don't have nearly as much as they offer but they do Prime shipping(free) so if you are an Amazon prime customer and maybe want a bottle or 2, it seems like a great deal. They are 7.99 for the 4 oz that they are offering.
  17. So I like to look at etsy just to see what people are selling to get a look at possible competition for the future. I've seen so much garbage tonight it's crazy. I'm not going to sit here and say I've never had garbage or made mistakes but I've seen people selling warped clamshells, crooked labels, products with nicks in the wax in the clamshell, blurry photos of product, etc. Maybe I'm being super picky but I just think that everyone is trying to make a buck and I can't believe some people would sell stuff like this. I mean presentation is half the battle. I've worked hard for over 6 years to get where I'm at and still not even close to being what I'd like to be at. End Rant, I apologize but my pregnancy hormones are in full force tonight
  18. I just looked at the about page and they are in new waterford ohio which is like 10 minutes from my hometown. When I go home in October maybe i'll order stuff and go pick it up there. I'm wondering about the quality too since the pricing is really good.
  19. Thank You very much. I'm trying to figure out a logo. I'm creative with crafts not logos haha.
  20. This is one of my issues. If the name sounds derogatory to the rust belt area.
  21. Thanks everyone. The more I think about it the more I like it also.
  22. Either my hometown which is Youngstown or the area. I'm not tied to rust belt melts it's just something that popped in my head. Ugh it's so hard.
  23. So I don't want to use the business name I previously used a few years back. I want something tied to my hometown of Northeast Ohio even though I live in San Diego(I'm moving back to Ohio in 18 months). I will only be doing tarts. I thought of the name Rust Belt Melts. I guess it rhymes and the area I'm from is nicknamed the rust belt. I googled and haven't found any companies with that name. I don't know if it's stupid or offensive. I just need some opinions or suggestions. TIA, Kristin
  24. I've noticed there seems to be a lot of suppliers on etsy now and pretty good prices. I know the old saying, you get what you pay for but has anyone found any great suppliers or fo's on etsy?
  25. Also where do you get your 2oz from?
