  1. Wow, both look fabulous! I will, one day, make some of those bath melts. Mind if ask where you found the ice cube tray?
  2. The trick with the meat ballers or any 2 part mold is to pack both halves in really tight and then add some extra mixture before closing the mold. When you close the mold be sure to press it very firmly together without twisting the 2 halves. This is what works for me so maybe it will help.
  3. It's a pre-blend of 70% soy and 30% paraffin. You get the benefits of both soy and paraffin all in one ready to use wax. With the 70/30 I tried I didn't get any frosting, very few wet spots and the scent throw was amazing in almost every FO I tested. There is just enough paraffin in the blend to do away with most of the quirks that pure soy has.
  4. I've heard others mention that McDonald's will sell them to you.
  5. That is fabulous news! I tried the 70/30 from GL and loved it but not the shipping costs that went along with it. I just ordered a slab of 70/30 from TCS to start testing with but will definitely be buying a slab from CS to test also.
  6. Anyone have a good beginners recipe for a moisturizing fizzy bath powder?
  7. I found this post about the bell and company air fresheners. Here
  8. I have tried the M&P bases from several suppliers and keep coming back to the SFIC bases. IMO they are just a better overall soap base ... lather, clean rinse, etc. Second runner up would have to be the bases from WSP, I'm torn between the SFIC shea butter and WSP silk and shea.
  9. My "candle room" is in the basement and I don't have a sink. I use the presto pots and the pyrex cups for pouring so I just use paper towels and wipe out. I'll haul my pyrex cups upstairs to the dishwasher once a week and so far I'm not missing having a sink at all. I say bite the bullet! I was working out of our kitchen and can honestly say that having my own space is soooo much easier and less time consuming because I'm not constantly putting things away and clearing room to cook.
  10. Thanks so much for that link. I didn't even think to try a search before posting. I think I'll order what I need to get me through these orders from Peaks and then try to hold off on my large order for the co-op. Thanks again!
  11. Anyone ever use the melt and pour bases from both? How do they compare? I'm in desperate need of a few pounds of shea butter and clear and don't think I'm going to be able to hold off until the SFIC co-op as I need to fill some orders now.
  12. I add 15% container blend to my Ecosoya PB for my floaters. I had the cracking issue like you're describing and the addition of the CB seems to have fixed the problem.
  13. I tested the wood wicks extensively in soy and decided that the results were just too unpredictable. They give a beautiful burn (when u can get it to stay lit) and gave an amazing scent throw though. The most common problem I've seen mentioned, and that I experienced myself, is that sometimes you can't get the wicks to light or stay lit. If you want to do your own testing you used to be able to buy tabs for the wood wicks from wholesale supplies plus.
  14. It's a tureen. I know for sure Candle Science carries them as well as many other suppliers. HTH
  15. Here's some I have bookmarked. http://simplythebest.net/fonts/kids_fonts.html http://www.free-fonts.com/font/kids.html http://www.onescrappysite.com http://www.grsites.com/archive/fonts/
  16. The crystals are basically soil moist that you can buy at Lowe's. They absorb and stay moist so they wouldn't work for ornies. IMO the aroma beads hold scent much better than the "jellies".
  17. I agree with Vio. The 3 gram jars are perfect for eye shadows and concealers but NOT for the foundations or blushes as people typically use a larger brush for those two. I'd keep them available for small brush applications but not offer them on the products you know to require the larger brushes. If it won't increase your sample prices by much I'd offer the sample foundations and blushes in the larger sifter jars. I was lucky enough to have some of the large jars on hand when I received my samples from you because there was no way my large kabuki brush was fitting into those teeny tiny lids. LOL
  18. I use high temp silicone to stick my wicks in the jar and then hold them straight with jumbo craft sticks (drilled a hole in the center) and mini clothes pins.
  19. I believe it is. GF = Golden Foods GW = Golden Waxes GB = Golden Brand
  20. Lilac Moon Lake Musk Any Blueberry bakery scents Cherry (this one doesn't make me gag but I end up with my eyes and nose burning like the dickens) Cucumber Melon I have 20 more oils to test so I'm sure I'll have more "gag me" scents to add!
  21. I have! It smells a lot like Pina Coloda to me but just a tad sweeter and not as heavy on the coconut. I sent out to 4 testers and everyone gave the scent a rave review so it's definitely a keeper for me. I did pick up a fuel smell oob but once I got it into wax it disappeared so don't let your first sniff throw you off.
  22. I've not tried making my own but I just received my order of samples from our very own Chickie1st from the forums and I am EXTREMELY impressed and will be switching over to her for my make up. I've been a devout user of Bare Escentuals for the past 3 years if that tells you anything. I think you can order from her website now ... http://www.heavenlyscentsonline.com/Minerals/index.htm . If your DIL decides to just keep buying the ready made products I definitely recommend her buying some samples to try.
  23. I use the 1 quart pyrex glass measuring cups. I have about 20 of those suckers and have never used anything but them. I do have 2 super huge glass cups/bowls that I found at Target that I use when I'm doing large batches.
  24. I heat to 170 and add FO at 160. This is using Ecosoya Advanced and liquid dyes, if you're using dye blocks you'll need to heat to a higher temp usually.
