  1. I'll be getting the Chocolate Biscotti and Cedarwood Vanilla tomorrow. I'll let you know my take on those 2 OOB once they arrive.
  2. Labels by the Sheet are also the thick "plastic" labels.
  3. Yep, it's Day Star. http://www.daystarsupplies.com/serendipity.htm
  4. Seems to me like your thermometer may be giving incorrect temps. I would definitely try a different one and see if it makes a difference.
  5. Try the HTP 83, it might surprise you. IIRC that's what I was testing with the PB and it was working really well.
  6. I love the bubbles I get with the SLSa but I can't stand the sinus irritation. I wear a mask when mixing the stuff but when I use anything with SLSa in my bath I end up with a runny nose, sneezing and burning of the sinuses. Is there an alternative to using SLSa?
  7. I would definitely try a black background IF the purple embeds aren't real dark. I'd also try to get lighting on both sides and from the top.
  8. Berts~ Andes Thin Mint - YUMMY and a strong thrower Lemon Biscotti Pie - DELICIOUS (wick up!) JS~ Butter Cookie - YUMMY and a strong thrower Butter Creme Frosting New One - YUMMY and a strong thrower (still testing but I'm thinking this is going to be a wicker upper)
  9. < --- me being blissfully ignorant on the # of oils I currently have. Pssst...if you find an intervention group please jot down my name.
  10. 4 ml = 0.14 oz.....rounded up Tip of the Day: Type 4 ml to oz in the Google search and you'll get an automatic conversion.
  11. Has anyone heard if CandleScience has discontinued the 6028? I've just about used up my last case and was getting my list together for my order and don't see it on their website anymore.
  12. Where did you find info on it being discontinued? I will scream if this is true! I only have 8 more fragrances to go to be finished with testing!!!!!!
  13. My 1st thought is that the sun got to it, did u add UV Inhibitor? Now, I made some Black Cherry (Just Scent FO) candles last year and used dye chips from Cierra Candle Supply and they discolored and weren't exposed to light. So, who was the FO and dye supplier?
  14. No, it's definitely not just you! My candle sales have plummeted over the past several months. If it weren't for the slow, but steady, trickle of orders for tarts and b&b products my business would be kaput. Summers are normally slow for me on candle sales but this is the worst it's been in the 5 years I've been actively selling.
  15. Thanks all! It looks like I'll be placing an order with Peak.
  16. tootie, I tested the 6006 and the 6036. For me the 6036 is winning hands down so far. I've decided to keep using the 6036 and am now testing all of my FO's for scent throw and I've not come across a single one that isn't throwing like crazy. In my testing I found that the 6006 needed a bit of babying to produce a candle that looked great, I also had some issues with soot in my heavier scents. The 6036 .... I just pour and I'm done, no heat gun needed and I've yet to have a scent smoke or soot up my jars. Once you start testing the 6036 I have a feeling that you are going to love it, but that's just my 2¢ worth.
  17. I'm in search of the perfect dup of Clean Cotton .... who has it? Thanks!
  18. Geeze, I have and love so many of her scents that it's hard to pick my favorites, but I'll give it a shot. Black Raspberry Vanilla Wedding Cake Pink Sugar Type Warm Vanilla Sugar Andes Thin Mint Honeysuckle The clean cotton I'm not too fond of, I get a fuel smell no matter what percentage I've tried. Haven't tried the others so I can't comment on those.
  19. Live and learn? If you like the burn of the wicks you are using except for the size issue .... I'd order a wick sample pack .... that way you'll have several sizes to test. Chances are you'll have to wick up or down on some fragrances anyhow so it's always a good idea to have several different sizes on hand when you're testing.
  20. How long had it been burning in the pic of you measuring the depth of the melt pool? ETA: Just clicked on the pic and see that it was at 2 hours. IMO that is definitely burning way too hot. I'd try going down 1, or even 2, wick sizes.
  21. What tootie is trying to say is that you're not looking for a full melt pool on your first, or even 2nd burn. I personally wick my candles so that the 3rd burn will play catch up. On my 1st and 2nd burns I have a small amount of residue left on the sides of the jars but, on the 3rd burn everything catches up nicely and I end up with a clean container in the end. I've found that if I get a full melt pool on that 1st burn then my containers get too hot for my comfort level once it gets further down into the jar.
  22. I'm also testing this wax and I am loving it! I'm getting an awesome hot and cold throw in 24 hours with every FO I've tried so far. It has a lot of the same properties as the Ecosoya Advanced .... great appearance, easy to wick and for me it contracts away from the glass which eliminates the dreaded wet spots.
