  1. I live so far out, you pipe sunshine in here Target is about 40 mins from me, although I could check out the local dollar stores, I did find some cute ones from Walmart last week, kind of loaf shaped, Wilton molds, picked up the last 4 they had----
  2. It's Walmart's brand, Great Value, think its extra virgin, thats in the biggest size that they carry, all the other OO's are in very small sizes.
  3. Hmm, think I'll try that when I run out of my TD, does it matter what order how its added in the lye solution?
  4. Thank you, I hope to get to the point as a lot of you guys on the board who make such gorgeous candles and soaps, but its hard to decide which one I like to make best of all
  5. My TD is oil disbursed, I don't think I added enough on the last batch, but I added it to the OO that was part of my recipe---Thanks everyone, your suggestions help out a lot
  6. Yes, it seemed to work out better for me to order at 8lbs, which is the least amount of lye and co, that will last a long time for me and give me a price break as well. Havent tried WSP yet, but I'm sure I'll get around to it, the way I've been ordering lately
  7. Thank you, It gives me a starting point, so far, my colors have been hit or miss and I do keep notes on what I do, right now, OO seems to be my color challenge, I wanted to whiten a base consisiting of mostly OO, but so far, its just been a really nice cream or ivory
  8. I'll just try a small batch, a pounder, to see if I like making these guys, although, some say to cut them asap if you don't use a single mold, I think, I'll juse the individual molds, seems like it'd be a lot easier-----
  9. Sounds like another thing I need to order I did notice the last fo I used has just a small amount of yellow in it, but guess it is enough to make a difference
  10. Thank you, I'm going to try that, I'm still waiting for my earlier recipe of 100% CO to cure, I have some sea salts, medium grain left over that I hope to use. For the table salt, is it non-iodine?
  11. I guess I'm not adding enough TD to the OO portion of my soap oils, I'm shooting for a whiter soap, but with the OO I am getting a nice cream color soap, so I thought I'd try soap oils with a white base to it such as lard, crisco and coconut
  12. Even with that being done, I still came out better than driving 20 mins to walmart to get a 30 oz jar of CO that is still higher than 1lb of CO oil from BA with shipping factored in. I'll get the OO and SF at Walmart since I don't use a lot of those----
  13. I hope I can get it right tho, my main trials are trying to get the right amount of color for what I'm aiming for, waiting on my lye and CO now, I don't have enough lye to do a 3 lb batch to put in my wooden log mold hubby made, I specifically wanted that one for the shape and cpop when I get a little braver. so many ideas to try and not enough time in the day
  14. You're right, got my order this morning, love the way they look in the bags, customer service was great
  15. Red Oxide, thought it would be a good basic, Teal Green, Shimmer Gold, Snowflake Sparkle, Purple Vibrance, Red Vibrance (can u tell I love Red? ) Got them this morning, love the way they look in the bag so far, now time to play
  16. Pics please. Maybe I could try a very simple recipe----
  17. Just what I need, more FOs to think about Christmas Tree is one I'd really like to try
  18. I spent several days trying to figure it all out, with the added cost of shipping, how much will I possibly use and how much I can store, the free shipping has a lot of people thinking that FREE, no,it sure isn't, you really have to know your prices for what you're shopping for, so when the shipping is included in the price of the product, sometimes as you say, it can be cheaper, I can't wait for my order to get here, colors should be here by tomorrow
  19. OK, thats it, I won't go for the salt bars, everything I've read is so positive about them except for the cutting process, seems you better not let them set long in a loaf or log mold or you won't be able to cut them, better for individual molds, but the people who've made them say they are really good for the skin, but if they are that difficult to deal with, its certainly not for someone who is at the soaping stage that I am
  20. You're so lucky to have a supplier close If Soapers choice is still on my list, but since I needed the lye and 8lbs is about all I probablywill need for quite awhile, since I'm still just experimenting with the smaller batches of soap, thats good to know about MMS, I will keep that in mind, your right tho, its so easy to reach a $40 minimum
  21. If Soapers Choice had the lye, I probably would've used them , their prices plus shipping were great, but at $3.25/lb , after factoring in the shipping, it worked out to be better than I thought, thank you for your help
  22. Thanks everyone for your replies, I have used ED and like their service, but for the amount that I ordered, I came out really cheap, well, it was about 3.25 I've used ED and like their service, but for 8lbs of lye, factoring in the shipping, it was around $3.25/lb, which for me was cheaper, I've not tried Soap Making Resource, but I spent most of the last 2 days trying to figure it all out The CO was about the same to when I factored in the shipping, 8lbs of lye and CO will last me a long time, ED amounts that were offted were either to little or to much for me to keep on hand
