  1. thats an idea it gets old using a hand grater
  2. When I saw an afghan someone had made, I decided I wanted to learn how to crochet. The knitting started because I like the look of sweaters, hats, etc. I don't know that it relaxes me, I think my goal is just to create. I love the many colors and textures of different yarns. But I find the longer the project is, the more I think about those stitches to finish
  3. 10 today, 10 next week---peaks
  4. Sounds like one I'd like to try. It would be hard for me to cut down to one, but I find myself turning to lavender, junipers, aloe, etc---- I'm still searching for a good lavender type, but haven't found one that I'd rebuy just yet.
  5. I use Brambleberry or Goplanetearth for soap colorants now, I have used TKB, but didn't like the packaging at the time
  6. I just ordered from them, it was $13.00 to ship 10 one oz bottles of FO
  7. Actually, it was 2 google searches and one led here, I don't think I used the search section the right way, I checked archives, maybe I used the wrong term
  8. Would love to see a pic of them, mine just don't look that great.
  9. Well, Idid it , I ordered 10 and ONLY 10, 1 oz bottles of FO from NG. I've not used their oils before so I'm not familar with what works and what doesn't. I wanted to order soap colorants as well, but resisted of course , it took quite a while to decide---- Bergamot Aloe Vera & Cucumber Blue Agace White Chocolate ( try this with the Bunny Bath Melt Recipe) Balsam Christmas Wreath Fresh Fruit Bubblelicious Clementine Sour Watermelon I chose most of these due to the customer reviews on their performance in CP and Soy wax. I havent worked much with soy, but have heard that it is sometimes difficult to find fo's that work well in soy; I use either paraffin or a blend.
  10. Those 2 batches just didn't work out, not that the soap wasn't useable tho, got them in containers, deciding when I'm going to expermient with those, meantime, hope to make my tiny bar over the weekend---won't shred if it doesn't work save it for later
  11. I'm due to make an order soon, guess I'll go for some 1 oz'ers and try to figure out what gingerbread scent I'd like to try for the holidays and a pine scent,(big bottles of those
  12. I did a search and came up with 2 recipes that were supposed to Bunny's melts, one was here on the forum, the other was a google search, There was a difference in the amount of ingreients between the two, so I think I'll try the one I found here.
  13. I'm thinking of substituting Lard for the palm oil in the small bar I want to make, only because its readily available for me. The other oils are Olive and coconut.
  14. Thats a good reason for me to order more than 10
  15. Thats true, seem to take forever to shred those 2 batches, one was 3lbs, the other about 2lbs, they had set up over a month,
  16. Yes, it does, my shreds at the moment are about a month old, just finished shredding them last night, they are moist, not overly so, but I did use shreds that were around 2 years old, very dry and it worked out ok, I melted, remolded them, the scent was still strong. My shreds now are from 2 different recipes tho.
  17. Thanks everyone for your replies. Was that an easy question or what? I'm finding it hard to decide on FO's that are different that I've used before, trying to limit myself from overbuying or I end up with a few small bottles that I never got to open and end up throwing away. Your replies have given me suggestions of scents that I probably wouldn't have thought of. It s not easy to make a choice tho, I end up with a list of 25 instead of 10
  18. Wish I'd thought of that at the time we were building, actually the work area itself was a last minute thought, but glad I have that now
  19. I didn't mind at the time that the kitchen was my work area, it was convenient in many ways, I kept a small supply center on the counter top and everything else had to be stored in the bedroom, but now with my space, except for a sink, I have most everything that I need, all of my tools, molds, supplies are in one area now and I dont have to work between the 2 anymore.
  20. If you had to choose 10 favorite scents for use in soap and no more than 10, which ones would you choose and why?
  21. I used to be that way about knitting too. I tried years ago to knit, didn't work out, so I learned crochet. Then a few years ago, I decided to try again, its working out better this time around.
