  1. Thanks for responding. Welcome to the board Sweet P, you'll learn alot!! Sockmonkey, I have printed a couple of the pages on photo paper to see if it was the pictures and of course they are not perfect cause I took the photo's, they look much better on the photo paper. I need to find a happy medium I think between glossy and regular paper I guess. I don't like the smudging with the glossy paper. Perky, thanks for the link, I think I tried that paper before and smudging was aweful, maybe I'll revisit that though. Anyone else?
  2. Just thought it would be interesting to see what everyones favorite tools (or time saving tools) to work with are, besides the wonderful PRESTO POT! LOL My favorite thing to use is the whisk that you use to make drinks and such. Works great to stir the wax without making lots of air bubbles in it, second is the wick centering tools and plastic canvas. So what's yours????
  3. I have Backwoods version, "Backwoods Blue". I just got around to doing something with it the other day. I made a reed diffuser with it. WOW, it smells awesome. I pick up alot of pine in it though. This is a very sexy scent!
  4. I have a brochure that I made in Publisher and am very happy with it except for the print quality. I have a HP officejet 5500 all in one printer. I know that a laser printer would help, but that's not in the budget for a long time. The picture quality doesn't look good on regular paper, I even tried the thicker paper which made it feel better but not look better. So, which paper do you use for yours? I've tried some of the HP photo paper, but it is smooth on one side and I need it smooth on both sides. I appreciate any input you may be able to give. TIA
  5. I can't help you because I don't use 464 or apothecary jars. I use 444 in status, keepsake, & square jars. Still testing the Barrel jars. Anyway, check this site out, may help you with wick choices: http://www.wickit.net/recommendations.html#lx It helped me alot. Good luck.
  6. From the stores she visited, maybe she was trying to get craft supplies to replicate your candles :laugh2: :laugh2: I'm an addict too though, you know, wax, FO, CandleTech, etc. but at least I pay for my supplies!
  7. I second Gateway foods and Kris. She has super fast shipping and her price still beats Millcreek who are closer to me. Where are you in IN?
  8. Very pretty, I love the look of that wax!
  9. That is how the ones I tried were too, with the black in the wax. I have a friend that LOVES the WW candles so I may experiment some more for her.
  10. Here's the only place I have found them.... woodwicks They have 4 sizes now. I tried the smaller ones and wasn't impressed, I used them in a container that was too large. I'm interested in trying the larger ones when my time allows.
  11. MC Spiced Cranberry gets my vote. Works well in soy and also great in the reed diffusers!
  12. You're all making me thirsty!!!!!!!! Just one question HeavenScentU, are the bottles actual beer? If so, love the name. That would tell my DH who's beer it is!!!!!!!!!! LOL:laugh2: :laugh2:
  13. I just poured Grandma's Kitchen for an order, smells great. I think around the holidays it does better but I do agree about re-naming it. By the way, I re-named Hillbilly Homebrew- Spiced Pecans. I dipped a snowman in it last year and didn't think the name worked. Sold it though.
  14. You're welcome, I have learned so much here, I'm glad I can contribute every now and then and help someone else.
  15. I made my own warning label, larger font so it can actually be read, and put it on the inside of the lid. I use 11 oz tureen jars with the screw on lids. People keep the lids and they see the warnings every time they take off the lid. Works for me, and have been selling very good.
  16. Sorry, I can't help you but I can add another question. Do you sell straight uncut oil or do you cut it with DPG or something?
  17. Mix your aroma beads, FO, & liquid candle dye in a jar with a lid. I use mason jars, old cleaned out spaghetti sauce jars (make sure all scent is out of it), etc. Shake to mix and shake every so often until they are dry. (they won't stick to the jar when they're dry) After they are dry, I normally use about 2 TBLS of beads per cookie cutter (depending on size, sometimes less) and bake. I always use a nail with a large head sitting on the head in the beads where you want the hole, before baking of course. I have found that if you only bake them for 3-4 minutes, the scent lasts longer. The ornies can be used as car air fresheners. I use small elastic thread, like you use for beading, to hang them. As far as the cardboard, sorry I can't help you there. I am hooked on the ornies. Good luck.
  18. Those look great! I wish I could master the round labels, PITA for me and my printer!
  19. Thanks for trying to explain the odvious to me, I sometimes don't get it! LOL I know when you get the oils, the light oils are fuller than the heavy oils. I didn't know if the darker color of some oils show that they are heavier or not. Update on the roses, The purple tipped white roses I put into the lilac oil are turning green from the stem. The yellow that I put into the honeydew are doing great( no green). So, I don't think the white roses are good candidates for this application. But they are performing very well!!!
  20. Wow, I swapped shows with a Pampered Chef consultant. She had her candle party tonight, 10 people came, 2 outside orders, and her total so far is $307!!!! Not bad for 2 1/2 hours. I am so excited!!! :yay: She had other people who couldn't make it tonight so we are keeping her party open til next Friday (my PC party) so hopefully she'll get more orders. Downfall, no one booked a party:sad2: I want to thank everyone on this board for advice, instruction, and ideas! This is the best sources of information that I have found!
  21. Anyone tried the wood roses with the diffusers? I ran across it on Natures garden site so I figured I'd give it a try. They really do suck up the oil into the stems. I put some with the honeydew and the lilac and noticed a small jump in scent throw. Plus it adds a little to the appearance.
