  1. If it is for a gift, somebody's gonna LOVE it! Beth
  2. Very nice and such a fun shape. Beth
  3. Great looking holiday jars. I agree with Richard. They don't need a top label...I think it would just distract from the whole presentation. Beth
  4. Sorry to hear about your problem. It seems to happen with all varieties once in awhile. I had it with 415 and tried crisco, lower melt soy etc. Never did get it fixed. Best (but not near perfect) was with paraffin. Though it isn't the help you want, it is probably easier to just get it from a different distributer after checking batch numbers with them and make your order up. All that retesting just before sending out an order would be really time comsuming and discouraging. Hope sombody chimes in and can tell you how you can fix it...you didn't need this right now! Beth
  5. Dark colors are my favs. Great job. Beth
  6. Very pretty without lots of do-dads. Great color combo. Hya-Scents. I am terrible with names! Beth
  7. Very nice...love the flake and the poms. Beth
  8. My husband made me one and said it has to be a pipe tap and that you could probably get one at an auto supply store. He said to get a tap sized to match your nipple. And also when you screw it in, you might want to use JB Weld on the threads to help seal it. You should be able to get that at an auto supply store also. Hope this helps. Beth
  9. Very cute! I'd send you a snowball, but I know it be a puddle by the time it arrived. We get snow in Idaho, but come Feb/Mar I could do with some warmth and sun. It is just adorable. Beth
  10. Hi again. I have a bag full of various looking scrubbies. Some are prettier than others which are downright ugly. I think mtt's directions are the ones that I originally was trying to make. I just found out my "double crochet" wasn't really a double. So maybe that is part of my problem. Now, don't shake your head...is the chain 2 counted as one of the double crochets? Also, cutting this netting is really causing me to think about just going back and buying these from the original supplier! Thanks again. Beth
  11. Hey thanks Oakbrook...I have wanted to try making something that requires just a smidge of powdered dye and I didn't want to buy a big amount just to try. So this is just what I wanted. Thanks. Beth
  12. Just cute. My mom would love one as she spent 20 years in AZ. Now I can see you are the one to bring my crochet questions to! Beth
  13. Always liked owls. The first and the Christmas one are my favorites. Very neat. Beth
  14. We repainted and I'm very careful now not to let any visable soot come off my candles. I realize there still is some, but I'm much more aware now. Some depends on the construction of your house and insulation. Mine was much worse on the ceiling where the rafters had insulation between but not over and the cold was coming in from the attic through the boards. Cleaning is almost impossible I found. It's a greasy kind of black. I feel for you...cleaning or painting..ugg. Beth
  15. Those are very cute. Look to cute to use on pots. If you made them for bath poufs would you use cotton yarn or? Oh no, I'd better stick with pot ones as I thought I'd give them (if I can make them look nice )with pot holders and towels for stocking stuffers for the daughters-in-law. I'll have to spend more time searching the web. Thanks again for all the help. Beth
  16. Well, the one I had is no more. It was real frayed and I cut it apart to see if I could understand it better. Then my husband garbaged it. Humm. It was round and yes DeAnna, I may not be increasing correctly. I'll try the one below and see if I can come up with a keeper. At least I'll have a person to ask about a specific problem I encounter. These are supposed to take 15 min. or so to make. Right, this is about my 4th day! Just got more netting at WalMart, so back to the hook. Thanks again. Beth If I ever get it down, I'll owe you all one!
  17. Love the green eyed one! Beth
  18. Hi all. Maybe I just do it too tightly. It just seems logical (of course it depends on the brain we are talking about ) that I would have to add more stitches as I get bigger and that's maybe where I mess up. Sometimes I think the directions think you already know how to do something so don't get real explanatory...and I seem to need every little thing written out. Going2Adopt, if you do get the (tell her easy) directions, that would be so great. Thank you. Beth
  19. I have read the instructions for nylon net scrubbies online. I know only basic instruction (chain, single and double crochet and slip) and mine don't turn out very well. Mainly they won't lay flat. I bought one that is flat, round and double thickness and maybe 3" in diameter. I'd love to make this. Any help out there from you who crochet would be appreciated. Thanks. Beth These are for scrubbing pots and pans, not bodies.
  20. Hi. Are your oils stored in a cold place? A long time ago a company told me that the flakes were due to the cooler temperatures which effected some oils and just to heat it up some to disolve the flakes. I can't remember the outcome, but if it is working in your wax, it is probably dissolving ok. I quit ordering oils in winter as they have to sit outside in freezing temperatures. Not sure if this helps, but is maybe an answer. Beth
  21. Hi. I haven't tried their parasoy contianer, but have felt most of their products were good. I'd give it a try except postage is so high to me. If you live near, I'd not be afraid to give it a chance. jmho. Beth
  22. I think it might depend upon where you purchased your dyes. I have some that the rubber bulb is not seated very well and the dye is all over. The ones I have from Peaks stay much cleaner. Beth
  23. Not sure this will help you much, but I've found if the cold throw is good, the resultant hot throw is often wicking problems. Have you tried a lot of different wicks in the same candle? How is the wick burning? How is the melt pool? And, what FOs are you using as some are just lighter in throw and some just won't throw in a certain wax. Also, sometimes more FO isn't the answer either...see what % FO each wax will hold and then remember the wicking gets tougher with more FO and more color. These are a few things to think about before giving a thumbs down to any of your waxes or mixtures. I think mixing waxes is a kick but I've had some really bad as well as some fairly good combos. So have fun. Beth
  24. HI. Just wanted to add that I have found the Fragrance Discussion forum under Strickly Scents (down below bath and body) to be really helpful for many different FOs in many waxes. It took me a while to find all the forums under this craftserver, but search there and you'll get tons of answers. hth. Beth
  25. Have you tried burning it yet? Just wondering about how it preforms. Like the idea of palm, but just thought I'd ask about burn. Thanks. Beth
