  2. Beautiful as always, Donita. You haven't lost your touch. Good luck on the show. Beth
  3. You make gel look drinkable! Very nice. Beth
  4. They are all very nice, but my favorite is the little pot with the drips. It reminds me of a RedWing design. I can see why you won a prize with the tea set. Great work. Beth
  5. You should try carving a head. Years ago I carved one and let it dry just to see how it would look. It is hard to remember, but I think it shrunk alot and also darkened. They suggest lemon juice to keep the color lighter. Humidity would probably be really hard on them as apple slices pick up the moisture if left out of the storage container. So, not sure how they would last, but it might be a kick to make one. Beth
  6. Can almost smell the brown sugar and fig. All the pretty colors are so fall. Beth
  7. Can FO be stored where it will freeze? I have quite a few older oils and I want to keep them, but today I decided to dump one I didn't like in the burn barrel with some paper and cardboard. It burned really , really hot and fast. I can just imagine the whole house going up. But, we do live in the north and I don't have a heated storage area. So just wondered if anyone could tell me if freezing would actually hurt the oil for later use. TIA. Beth
  8. Very nice and I like the idea of pouring inside. The flame looks great...would love to see the shell as it burns down...hint, hint! Did you scent the 70/30? Beth
  9. Don't know about fashion, but there are directions on the net and this pair of jeans were from a tag sale and belonged to her best friend which I thought she would like. Thanks for all the thumbs up. Beth
  10. Hi. Decided to do jean purses for the granddaughters. This is for the 14 year old. The school mascot is the badger. Hopefully I learned a lot making it as I took it apart many times. But, I am happy with the final result. Thanks for looking. Beth Pict. didn't show inside so well...zipper pocket in back and 2 open pockets in the front for phone etc.
  11. Wow, you've totally remade your bedroom! What a lot of creativity to bring it all together. I bet your husband thinks you are pretty crafty. Good job. Beth
  12. Hi. I hoped someone who had done it could help you, but since not yet, I decided to jump in. Using the search on this forum really will help you. I found these as well as others and thought they might help: http://www.craftserver.com/forums/showthread.php?t=54265&highlight=painting+candles http://www.craftserver.com/forums/showthread.php?t=41150&highlight=painting+candles http://www.craftserver.com/forums/showthread.php?t=86358&highlight=painting+candles
  13. Very, very cute. She will love it! Beth
  14. They pour cooler. Look up "rustics" in the search and you should get the instructions. hth. Beth
  15. No picts? They sound cute...girls as well as bows! Pony tail holders out of material are pretty also to match outfits. These forums have everything to help one get started. Good luck. Beth
  16. I really haven't tried it but I would think you could do it that way and make a hurricane candle. Or, make a pillar with a shell such as some of the palm waxes have. Just seems the rocks would fall out as the candle heats and burns. The other idea would be to make a pillar with the stones embeded and poured with the top ready for a tea light or votive. To me that would be the best plan. One other thing, if you use your mold with rocks, it will probably scratch and not be good for regular pillars after that. Not sure if it would work, but maybe a plastic pipe cut to length would do for the insert? Just a few ideas. Beth
  17. I know I could just get the dye and try but thought if anyone else had done this first, it might save some time and fuss. What I want to do is use pine needles in a hurricane. But, if dry, they are brown. So I wondered if it would work to dye them green with clothes dye. Not sure if it would work, or if when poured over with hot wax they would hold the color. Any ideas about this? Beth
  18. Pretty colors and the flame looks good too. Would love to see it after it has burned several times. Beth
  19. I like your card...I'm sure all the work will be greatly appeciated. Someone made me a special Christmas ornament that was quilled and it has lasted for many years. That might be another idea for using the quilling. I'm sure there are many more also. It is fun to see different crafts. Beth
  20. Thanks for all the help! Can't wait for the first frost now to get out of the garden and into the sewing room. Then a few candles too...wish I had a housekeeper! Thanks again. Beth
  21. Well, I haven't decided upon the exact type of fabric yet, but would think a heavier might be better than say broadcloth. When you iron on the pellon interfacing, do you do both the lining and the outside or just the outside? I was leaning toward just adding the interfacing to the outside and then just a lighter weight single fabric for the lining. We have a Joanns and a Hancock about 95 miles away. I can order online, but really want to see the material for myself. One more question, do you put purse feet on you bags? They seem kind of expensive and I'm not sure they are needed though the library book mentioned using them. I'm planning on fairly easy projects for this first try. I have to say, TexasBrat, your purses were the inspiration to try this. They are so great. Beth
  22. Hi. After last years scrubbies and towels, I've decided to try making purses for Christmas presents. I took several books out of the library on making them and the nicest one said to iron heavy interfacing on the inside of the material used. Is this necessary? And if so, do I use really rigid stuff or regular like used in making clothes? TIA. Beth
  23. Very nice pieces and sounds like it could be addicting also. Put the rest on when you pick them up. We want to see! Beth
  24. If you wish to use card stock, you might get an oval punch. If you want to print on both sides, it is just getting them lined up properly that takes lots of time and hair pulling but once you get the set up, it isn't hard. Just a thought as cutting each by hand would be one big job. Beth
  25. Sounds so interesting and they look so neat. Like the sunset best, also. Could you use this medium to paint on candles or is the medium you mix with not compatible? Beth
