1. A ladybug would be really cute too. I am finding that crocheting is much faster than knitting. Hopefully I will get better at figuring which stitch to start each row in. Then it will be lots of fun! Beth
2. Very cute. If I get going on the beanies I might try something like that for my one younger granddaughter. I especially like the red with the white polka dots (top right). Beth
3. Thanks DeAnna. I did see some cute animal ones...Not Sarah's style. And, I did find a headband pattern that I think will work for the granddaughter. So if the new yarn makes it to little, just use a bigger hook? I think a scallop around the bottom would look nice. With an added flower, maybe that is all it would need. Probably should just buy her one, but for some reason, want to make presents. She wanted crochet, but I'm a better knitter. Also, it doesn't mention any ribbing type stitch around the bottom, will it just stay on? I think I muat have loosened up on my stitching as it seems as big as the other. See the bumps on the one? Too fast of increases? Thanks again. Beth
4. Hi. I did get some and started to make them. But the first fits my head, but there is to much on the top so it doesn't lie smooth. It is like there is to much hat there. The next one I am making now has less stitches and is all double crochet. It has 12 less stitches around, but is seeming to lie flatter against the head. I am not yet accomplished enough to add or subtract from the patterns The yarn I bought is Caron's simply soft. It doesn't seem as thick as the worsted I am practicing on, so not sure what will happen with the size. I had sort of wanted something a bit fancier than just the same stitch, but if it works, so be it. I've looked at many online but hoped someone here had a never fail pattern to share. Thanks for the input, I know you crochet everything! Beth
5. My daughter in law wants another beanie. As you might remember, I learned to make nylon scrubbies a few years ago. That is as far as I've gotton. Does anyone have a stylish beanie pattern that is fairly easy? I've knit stocking caps, but this needs to be smaller looking. See how up to date on fashion I am? I did practice making flowers and can do that to put on it. Also the granddaughter wants a wide headband with a big flower. Do you need to add something stretchy to the making? Please get me through another Christmas! TIA. Beth
6. Does anyone sell the votive plug to put in the top when you pour forever candles? I have the glass holders, but not sure how to keep them in place so no wax spills into it. Fill it with putty and stick it down? Want it smooth and nice looking. Beth
7. How tight do you actually twist your wick and since it seems thicker now, do you go down in wick size? Beth
8. Since I need just a tiny bit of pigment in two colors, I hate to spend big bucks on lbs. etc. Since I am not burning these (using in hurricanes), has anyone tried clothes dye or something else to color embeds that won't run into the rest of the wax? I found only one place that sells oz. but they are out of stock on the color I need. Have the urge to do it now, so looking for alternatives. TIA. Beth
9. I always thought about them also, but wondered how they would wash. You know kids and clothes! Anyone have help for Sharon as to brands they have used and tips and if they stood the test of time? Hope so. Beth
10. Hi. I use the 1260 and just add some micro 180. They turned out pretty good with embeds, photo prints and shells. You do need to keep the embeds near the very edge of the mold or there will be more wax coverage. With the shells, you just heat gun them off to your satisfaction and then overdip. Beth
11. Will pillar paraffin release from a straight sided glass sprayed with mold release? Thanks. Beth
12. Both are really pretty. Let us know what she picks. Beth
13. Does anyone know of a supplier for a clear plastic (or ?) 3" or 4" round mold? TIA. Beth
14. What wax are you using? Generally the wax will contract as it hardens and pull away at least a bit so it can slide out. Also, you sometimes have to wait a bit after you think it is cool and solid. You can also put them in the frig for a bit and that seems to contract the wax. I love hurricanes. Beth
15. I like the patchwork very much. Using different colors and even different quilting patterns would give you a lot of variation. Very nice. Beth
16. I like your colors...and the whole result...they will go in any room and still look splendid. Beth
17. Love your bright colors, as usual. Beth
18. Hi. Buying wool fabric is quite expensive. I have been getting wool coats at yard sales (of course, we are up north) and then cutting out the nicest pieces to be used. You have to be willing to have a multicolored non-matching rug, but it would still look wonderful. Beth
19. Hi. I like this one because as well as being very pretty, everytime you wear it, you will think of something that has meaning for you. Beth
20. The necklace in the first picture really caught my eye. They are all super nice, but I liked the first the best. Beth
21. The watermelon ones are great. Love the seeds. Beth
22. Hi. These are the last 3 of 6 for Christmas...tomorrow the other group of kids will be here. I'm pleased as the first set of granddaughters seemed to like them. I have two more jean ones to make for a friend's granddaughters and then to try a tote for my neighbor and sister-in-law. Didn't get a picture of my favorite one, but they are all similar. Hope you like them. Beth
