  1. between their always rising prices and horrible (in my experience) customer service - i don't bother with wsp anymore.
  2. thanks guys i'll try some of those. i poured the bc one tonight, and while it sank to the bottom like a ton of bricks at first, lol, it did smell pretty accurate to me. we'll see though.
  3. to this day, my sister buys chocolate chip cookie candles from yankee and has informed me that she will continue to do so until i start making them. (pretty effective way to get me to carry a new scent, btw ) so does anyone have any good ones that they can recommend? so far i've only smelled the one from bcn (not bad oob), and haven't gotten time to put it in wax yet, but i'm getting ready to make a few orders here and would like to find a couple more to try out. thanks
  4. :embarasse heh i've been outed as the bigmouth that brought it up in the first place in that link, lol.
  5. lol bring it on, all of you! i'd put up a good fight at least, to get a peak in my state. of course if it were in oregon, that would be just one more reason for me to move back over to the left coast :rolleyes2
  6. i've read a couple of negative things about this place... i can't say anything one way or the other because i've never dealt with them myself, but maybe do some searching before you order.
  7. that's really not that bad... and from what i've heard that is a small company, with one person doing most of the work, i believe, so i'd go as far as to say that's pretty good. is there anything on their website that says how fast they ship? sorry you have to wait. i am awful at waiting for the ups/usps/fed ex guys. some times they surprise you and show up early though.
  8. i still like the idea of peak opening a warehouse up here in michigan looks like maybe they need a few more too? hehe
  9. aw come on guys, someone has to have some ideas even just stuff that you've heard is good for this stuff... any eo's or that type of thing?? my real question is about the menthol and would it work in a lotion stick?
  10. alright, forgive me, but this is out of my area of knowledge, so it could very well be a stupid question, but hopefully someone can help me out. i want to make a balm for sore muscles. i am one big sore muscle after work, and am mostly looking to make it for myself, and possibly some coworkers. for convenience, i'd like to make something that can be used in a push up lotion stick container. i believe menthol crystals might work? but i'm not sure how they would work in a lotion stick type thing. i'm also wondering what other ingredients i should be looking into? any suggestions would be great. thanks
  11. good point sara, thank you. i remember i did run into problems trying to transfer from godaddy.com to verve. guess i never thought about just registering the name with them, thanks
  12. who's the cheapest for domain registration? no hosting or anything, just want to register the name. also have any of you ever contacted anyone about buying their domain? one of the domains i am interested in is taken, but i looked at the site and it is copyrighted 1999 most recently, and none of the images work. i sent them a very short email letting them know i was interested if they aren't using it, but who knows.
  13. most farmers markets will not limit the vendors that sell produce and stuff like that, and many will limit the craft type vendors. some do not even allow them. that really sucks that she has taken over your area, but keep looking, there are always other opportunities. and robin's right. my old farmers market out in washington had special markets on holidays where there were more vendors, and more customers as well. definately check into that. half an hour away isn't too bad, why not check into it? i drove at least half an hour for mine and wasn't bothered by the drive. the market itself was definately worth it - so much fun. good luck!
  14. sugar cookie will do this too. vanillas are killer, yeah, but i really do notice it alot with bakery scents. i use a whisk to stir, which seems to help. and as mentioned above, i make sure to always add the dye after i know the FO is mixed in well.
  15. bitter creek i have ordered from and wsp i won't order from any more. just checking around to see if there's somewhere closer. it'd be nice to cut that shipping down a little more. thanks for the reply.
  16. Does anyone know of a supplier in or near michigan that carries J223?
  17. most likely it is that your FO isn't completely mixed in. some scents, bakery in particular in my experience, take a little bit more work to get them to mix in completely. heating the FO (in it's bottle) in some hot water could also help if that's the case.
  18. congratulations i hate how the lye just goes where it wants. i've had a spill just like that, the stuff just shot out of the bottle. something i do now that helps make the lye handling easier is to wipe down everything that the lye will be coming in contact with with a dryer sheet before measuring. including the bottle of lye itself. helps to keep the lye beads from bouncing all over the place.
  19. i like the look of the concave better, and i don't notice enough of a difference in the way it burns to have that be an issue for me.
  20. i really do hope so. maybe i just caught her on a bad week, who knows. good luck.
  21. i bought from there and i won't again. long story short ~ my mom ordered it as a gift for me, and they sent it to the wrong address - the billing address instead of the shipping address. since it was my parents, i asked them to just send it along to me to save hassle. my dad said the box was in bad shape, he would repack it. after he opened it, he found that the mold itself was broken. a dowel that held it together had snapped and some of the glue did not hold. i asked him to just send it to me as it was, i would take care of it. i would definately say something about this, since i obviously couldn't use a mold without sides. i was nice, i expected her to offer to exchange it. INSTEAD she said she didn't understand how that could happen, the molds are made too well. i definately got the feeling she didn't believe me. i responded, offering to send pictures if she would like. she in turn said that would not help her, she would need to see the mold, and again insisted that she could see no way the mold could break, everyone tells her how great she packs her orders. in the end, she offered to let me ship it back to her at my expense and then pay to have another shipped back to me. that's 3 shipping charges (and not cheap, i might add) for one mold. no thanks. 4 if you count the shipping i had to pay from my parents to me. sorry, im still a little upset about this. good to hear that others have ordered from there with no problems, maybe mine was just an isolated incident.
  22. i don't see how it could matter? i guess i could be wrong (and i will probably go melt something just to make sure after this, lol) but i'm sure oils will weigh the same in their liquid and solid states.
