  1. well, a little bit ago my answer would have been make candles. but you've motivated me to clean out my work desk. heh, if you don't hear from me within the next week, send help
  2. i have no idea what gc's birthday cake smells like, but i ordered a sample of JS's white cake (also called cake bake on the label) and it smells awesome.
  3. i tried one called fall woods that was awesome. i don't remember the supplier (i am thinking for some reason it is a supplier i won't buy from any more, but i'm not sure). it is a good one if you can find it, though.
  4. i love peak's fo's, most of them are really strong for me at 1oz pp or sometimes less. but you shouldn't rely on the opinions of others to replace your own testing . 1oz pp is where i usually start with most fo's, and i either go up or down from there.
  5. it is a bb scent, that's where i got it anyways i found it so you wouldn't have to pay wsp's shipping ... http://www.brambleberry.com/fragrance_otoz.html
  6. if you are looking on a candle suppliers website, the fo is candle safe (i can't think of any exceptions, but there could be). not all candle fo's are body safe, that's why some say that and some don't. as far as what to look for in a fo, and which to use in which wax... a good throw is always nice . i'd get a sample pack and just start playing. j225 is a new wax, so you're not likely to find much feedback on fo's that work well for others in it. so just play around and check in here when you have questions, most likely someone will be able to help you out.
  7. yup and it has to be at least a month before you report it. i had to do this with a supplier, and as soon as my credit card company got on it, i got everything back, right down to interest i had been charged on my card. unfortunately if it is a debit card, your bank is not quite as likely to do a damn thing.
  8. i got the sample the other day, and hope to try it in wax early next week. oob it smells more creamy than just the spiced tea, so i'd say there is a milky note. it's sweet, too, more oregon chai than traditional chai tea (for those that know or care lol). it smells really good and i'll let you all know how it goes in wax
  9. someone needs to tell her to quit doing this. every time i make an order, a few days later there's another new fo i need to try. i'm going to go broke in no time at this rate. i know it's new, but if by chance anyone gets a chance to order or try it this week, could you let me know how it is? this looks like one i'd definately want to try.
  10. in my opinion, that sounds like someone not really accepting responsibility. it's great that they are taking steps towards fixing things with people that have been wronged, but even when it's just one employee screwing up, the responsibility is not completely on them, imo. you can't tell me it took them that long to figure out someone was messing up their paperwork... and even if that is the case, i'd still think twice about dealing with them.
  11. i wouldn't have even considered trying it, but i do have some citrus lavender stuff that smells awesome. thanks guys, i think i'm going to try out a lemongrass, and the lemon pucker.
  12. see i'm not too sure about the sweetness that i'm sure that one would have... i don't know, maybe a lemongrass?
  13. peppermint kiss is a good one
  14. does anyone know of a supplier that carries this fo? or of a good lemon to use to blend my own? lavender is easy enough, but most lemons i know are bakery or sweet, and i think i'm looking for a more natural or even herbal smell... apparently yankee has this scent now, and my sister has informed me that i must carry it :rolleyes2 http://www.yankeecandle.com/cgi-bin/ycbvp/product_detail.jsp?oid=2959546
  15. i hear ya. i don't know who you're talking about (but i would like to ) my last fun experience was with the company that took over selling my best selling fall fo. i placed an order, got it, everything is fine. then i get an email saying my credit card is overlimit... they charged me twice. shit happens i guess. i tell them, they seem like they are on top of it, say a receipt for the credit to my card will be mailed to me and everything is taken care of. i get the slip and it does say credit for the correct amount. a couple weeks later, no credit in my account. so i go digging for receipts to call them and sort this out. when i pull out the credit slip and look a little closer, it has the last 4 digits of a card, but not my card. someone else got my credit. so of course i let them know about this. after going back and forth, giving them ALL the information that i possibly can (transaction numbers included) they say they are stumped, their bank is stumped, they don't know what happened. well, at this point it's clear they screwed up, so i just want my money back. they want to talk to me on the phone to confirm everything. so i give them the times to call me (i work 3rds so it's a little limited), and give them permission to talk to my boyfriend about it. when do they call? when im sleeping. and when they get my boyfriend, they leave a message for me to call that day. i get up too late to get ahold of them. anyways, i ended up reporting it to my credit card company and they got my refund (and my overlimit charge and interest ). i have 3# of that fo left, and after that i guess i just find a replacement. which does suck because a LOT of people specifically request it. but it's just not worth it. i say don't buy from them again. these places should be competing for our business not expecting us to wait in line for their products.
  16. it does look great. did you do it yourself?
  17. you know, i started out with one fo from there that sounded really good (pumpkin nog) and of course picked out my 3 samples. then i had to order more of one of the samples and another fo that sounded really good. of the 3 samples that came with that, i want to buy at least 2... at first i wondered how she could afford to give 3 samples just for ordering 1lb of fo, but now i see... i am a great example of how this works for her. beware the free samples:D
  18. first one to try it, please let us know how it is i just placed an order 2 days ago or i'd be getting a sample of it, myself.
  19. http://www.candletech.com/forums/showthread.php?t=3164 that post might help you, it's bunny's post on how to build a soap recipe. i use butters and oils. i've gone up to 10% on my butters (shea and cocoa). and there are a ton of good oils you could use, but you really only need the basic ones for a good bar of soap. if you're talking vs. dial, then anything you make will be better for me, a typical recipe includes palm, coconut, palm kernel, rice bran oil, olive oil, castor, and either hemp or avocado oil, or a butter. you can make a perfectly good bar using only olive (rice bran if you prefer), palm, and coconut, in my opinion. or there's always castille for an even more simple recipe.
  20. yeah, when i get a good one, i make sure they KNOW. i have gotten some really bad ones in the past few years, it really makes me appreciate these good ones all that much more.
  21. actually, i love the name, it is unique and fun to say:D
  22. i just sub it for the water (all or some) when i use it. no specific recipe
  23. i agree with rebecca on the amounts she suggested for the hemp oil. really, over that much is not necessary. i suppose you could push it up a little to 15 (i have done 20 and there wasn't enough of a difference to keep doing it, especially with the added cost) also, hemp oil won't freeze. i keep mine in the freezer and just pull it out when i want to use it.
  24. (vent warning ) you know what? i'm tired of looking for my packages. i work 3rds so i love the fact that most of the time ups will leave my package at my front door without ringing my doorbell, which wakes up the dog, which wakes me up, which is not good. but this is getting to be too much. my recent experiences with ups: *one day this past fall, 3 packages all say delivered when checked online around 7pm. i only have 2 at my front door. after a few minutes of confusion, i check the other side of the duplex we live in. what do you know, sitting right there is my 3rd package. *i come home a month or more later to a message on my answering machine from a neighbor i don't know. they have a package of mine. (i now see why it's a good thing they put your phone number on the package) luckily they were super nice and dropped my 30+lb box of soaping oils off for me. *my personal favorite: a month or so ago, we turned onto our road and saw a ups truck sitting at the end of the driveway. we pull up to the house just in time to see the driver sprint up the driveway to the OTHER side of the duplex to drop off a package and back out to the truck. did i mention he had to run past a for rent sign and through some rather deep snow drifts (with no footprints) to get to the wrong side? upon seeing me bitching up a storm to my boyfriend, his coworker sitting next to him pointed out the house numbers to him. the house numbers can be found on the mailbox AND on the actual house. *today. i get up around 7pm, my boyfriend has been home all day and says my expected package hasn't shown up. check online, yup it has been delivered. take the usual walk outside, no package. other side of the duplex, no package. so i call the ups 800 number (did you know you can't get ahold of them locally?? the lady i talked to said there was no number for her to give me so that i didn't have to bitch to some random person sitting in some other state. even she found this humorous) told them *everything* and i get to wait for them to call me in the morning. then they have to go get the package and bring it to me, of course. i'm not the most patient person in the world when things run late, lol. especially when it's because of stupidity. so now i figure they will probably be super anal about making sure they hand me my package and have me sign for it (which they never do even when they hand it to me now) which will suck because it will mean they will have to wake me up to do this. why is it so hard to make sure the number on the box matches the number on my house?
  25. i was asked to make this for my mom, who at the time was still buying mac apple from yankee. i tried peak and everyone who has smelled them side by side has said not that they are close, but that peak's is much better. this is a very popular scent for me
