  1. Thanks BizzyB - I think I'm going to start off with a small order and see how that goes first.
  2. I used to feel the same but when I switched to the big honking bombs, my customers would tell me that they would start out by trying to use just 1/2 the bomb and then decide to toss the other 1/2 in too. They seem to be happy with the bigger size. Also, it depends on how big your tub is, how high you fill it etc etc. Making the smaller ones was fun but labor intensive.
  3. I've never used a meatballer. I use the ornament thing. I love the size of them things. Also, when I first started making bath bombs, I used to make 1/2 rounds (shaped like a bombe). I used the little plastic container that you get stockings in. I would fill the top half, squish it all in with the palm of my hand and unmold immediately. They were SOOOO easy to do. I'd sit them in cupcake paper thingies and wrap them in cello - very cute they were. S
  4. I was wondering if anyone's order FOs from The Jar Store and your thoughts on them? I'm thinking about trying them (I can actually pick up and save on shipping). I don't make candles, just BB (mostly CP soap). Thanks S
  5. That looks really lovely. What type of mold is that?
  6. Sending wishes of much success your way. Let us know how it's going when you get started. S
  7. I am too excited about attending this. I've never been to one before so this is my first. I'll be driving down from Connecticut and I'll probably stay with my in-laws who live right at the Philly/NJ border. I'm beside myself with excitement and I can't wait to meet you all:yay:
  8. I CPOP every batch. Put your soap in the oven at 170 for 1 1/2 - 2 hours. Turn off oven and leave to cool down in there for at least 7 hours. I usually stick mine in at night and remove in the morning. I've never had a problem soaping this way. I still cure mine for at least 4 weeks but it is safe to use before that. Have fun
  9. i do cello bags, taped shut inside kraft coffee bags. I piece of ribbon goes from back to front and ties at the top of the bag.
  10. nothing plus shipping? I guess I'll just have to get me one of them there stamps then. Thanks for posting!
  11. Very very nice looking.......yet another thing for me to try
  12. Really lovely soaps. Nice Job!
  13. Kimberly I'm with you. I'll stick in the oven at 8:00pm, turn it off at 9:30pm and have it all sliced up and looking pritti by 7:00am the next morning (before work). the anticipation of it all gets me out of bed at 5:30am.
  14. My creme brulee turned an uglee do-do brown. if you can get past the color then it smells lovely and feels even better on the skin. i don't think i'll CP that one again.
  15. Looks delish - good enough to lick So, you need to wait at least 3 days before unmolding? I missed that story. How is it better? The last time I waited to unmold I couldn't even cut it properly without it breaking off at the bottom of each slice although I think that was because I had sodium lactate in that batch. I don't know if i'd be patient enough to wait 3 days :undecided
  16. the soap that made it into the mold looks fab. same question - is that a mr. doright mold? same thing happened to me. Just adjust your recipe. My 32oz (2lb) recipe had to be reduced to 24oz for it to fit in the mold.
  17. Oooh - lovely soaps. I wish I could get a nice blue. I LOVE LOVE LOVE the white shavings on top - looks like white chocolate
  18. The lemon sugar actually smells better than the black raspberry. Send your addy on - i'll send you one!
  19. Thanks. I've been making soap for fun on and off for a long time (very first batch was 7 years ago). Just recently started up again but this time I can't stop.
  20. FINALLY - I'm posting a picture . This is JS Black Raspberry Vanilla. I haven't trimmed them yet so they're still a bit raggedy. http://i174.photobucket.com/albums/w101/blueshazban/BlackRaspberryVanilla.jpg This one's JS lemon sugar with some lemongrass EO added. http://i174.photobucket.com/albums/w101/blueshazban/LemonSugar.jpg Not my first soap but my first picture - sorry !
  21. hmmmm.....i'll have to try it and see what's the difference. So you don't lose anything (scent-wise) by adding pre-trace? Thanks for answering my hundred questions S
  22. Does the majority add FO after trace? I read somewhere today that you can add fragrance to the lye solution - I've never heard of that. I've always added my fragrance oils post-trace. Is this something new or have I been living under a rock? Thanks Sharon
