  1. Thanks. I hadn't realized it was something real..lol. Think I definately need to smell this
  2. Ok, this is the second one I did over the weekend. Comments, advice, suggestions? Be honest please! I'm a big girl and can take it Not sure about the soap petals around him, pink ~ Apple Blossom, but he looked so bare on that big plate, even though his toes are at the edge He's Lilac scented. Any suggestions on how to purty him up?
  3. I haven't tried these, but they seem pretty simple (famous last words ) Might help you get started though.. http://www.thesage.com/recipes/recipes.php3?.State=Display&id=102 http://www.snowdriftfarm.com/form_liquidsoaprecipes.html
  4. Sounds wonderful! I'll have to try this one when I get all the stuff. Thanks for posting!
  5. So you dress them afterwards? I'm guessing while wax is still warm?
  6. I have plenty of glass plates to use, I was just wondering if there was others things usable that I hadn't thought of Thanks for the warning info too
  7. It's the ones like that I'm wondering about. Are the clothes dipped too, or just the bears?
  8. Since this is my first go round with these, I've still got a lot to learn 1. I've seen some of these that are on wood plaques... aren't we supposed to cautioned customers NOT to put them on wood surfaces? I have one on a glass plate and one in a wicker chair (not sure if FO will be a problem or not) What all CAN they be displayed on/glued to? 2. On that note... what all are we supposed to caution them about? Besides where not to set, that it's not a toy, and not to torch them? I had never even heard of these before I found CT...lol. I don't want any accidents 3. I poked my nose in Ozark. Most of theirs are dressed up, yet still wax dipped. Has anyone done this? Do you dip them with their clothes on or afterward? Either way seems awkward. Definitely wouldn't work to dress them after they cooled, I barely managed to get a ribbon around that dang neck..lol. I know there must be a 4 and 5 but can't remember now 5 Smileys is too many in a post... lets try 4
  9. Those are looking pretty good! Will have to add this to the never ending "to try" list...lol
  10. Ohh, them are some hard questions Good luck!
  11. I really don't know, but seems like they would be hard to make by hand. You'd have to have a hole to put the oil in, then how would you close it?
  12. I've only done the M&P twice. First swirl might have been nice, had the soap NOT run out the bottom of the mold and have to be poured into another one....lol. There's alot of different ways to swirl and different looks. I followed BruceCarvesWax, I think... in that I help the base up a ways and poured the colored into the edge of it as I poured into the mold. Mind you, I was only using 1 lb of soap total...lol. No clue how I'd do a large batch alone and I think I've scared everyone here at home away while playing with it Ms Sara's directions here might help ya too http://www.candletech.com/forums/showthread.php?t=118 Added; And I've only used the microwave myself..
  13. Ohh, and here I thought it was just a soft wax. I was starting to get worried I still question what the humidity is doing
  14. Also, make sure you coat the bottom of the floater with wax after you wick it, if you use wick pins. You don't want water leaking through and putting the flame out. I've only tried a couple, but managed to goof them..lol
  15. Are you the one who had posed them on the old board? The ones I just put up I mean? If so, thanks again! I've run across this a few times so far... things I saved and don't remember who posted them first I never dreamed the board would crash, I had just saved them for me. Well, and tweaked to first one, hope thats ok

  18. Congrat Melly! It's exciting isn't it Congrats to you too Craftyjean!
  19. Those are just too cute Infused or dipped? What scent?
  20. Those are adorable! That's what I really wanted to do, infuse them so I could dress them up. But everyone keeps asking me if I'll ever make dipped ones
  21. You shouldn't have any problem at all! Make the end of the wick flush with the bottom of the tab and squeeze with crimpers or needle nose pliers. Cut wick to length. That's it
  22. Mine also expanded, but just a little. I did the "fill the jar to the top" thing too. Oops
