  1. Bunkie I had that happen to me when I added some additives so I tried adding a little more cocoa butter not a lot just a bit. That really helped a lot.
  2. I was wondering this myself. I was thinking about taking baking soda and adding fo to it. Anyone elses thoughts? Kelly
  3. Thanks for the link I will definately follow the instructions and go from there. Will keep you all posted! Thank you!
  4. I will try pouring at a lower temp and poking a few holes in the top. Should I attempt to do this without the additives? When you say you pour in layers do you allow the wax to completely cool before pouring the next layer? And when do I remove the wick holder?
  5. I am sure this has happened to someone at some point and time.Maybe I'm just not using the right words to search. I am new poured my first container candles last night. I used ecosoya container blend wax and added vubar and stearic acid to it. When I poured the candle everything looked ok but as it started to harden the center began to crack and left a hole. What have I done wrong? Kelly
  6. I learned if I am adding something like oatmeal or powdered goats milk I need to increase my cocoa butter just a bit.
  7. I'm sure you all have done this already yourselves but I thought I would post this anyways. The recipe posted in this thread is wonderful, but for a lot of people or at least myself anyways I needed a much smaller quantity. And this seems to be working well for me: 2 oz. Cocoa Butter 6 T. Baking Soda 1 1/4 T. Cornstarch 1/4 c. Citric Acid 1/4 T. FO Now I have a couple of questions. How would this turn out if I added a bit of oatmeal and if I am using non deoderized cocoa butter do I use more fragrance? I can smell my fo a bit but not as much as I would like. Kelly
  8. Thanks for the clarification. I made the lotion bars and I think they turned out good. I will use one tonight after I get out of the tub and post my thoughts then. Kelly
  9. I made a small batch of my lip butter as I like to call it. I made 4 oz. and put it into one of the 4 oz. glass canning jars. I will keep an eye on it for seperation though and once its cooled will refridgerate it. I use the recipe posted above. Thanks, Kelly
  10. ty that just seemed like a lot of beeswax
  11. I want to try the lotion bar recipe listed here on CT. http://www.candletech.com/forums/showthread.php?t=11999&highlight=lotion+bar However I need to know am I measuring by volume or weight? Kelly
  12. Are we measuring my weight or volume?
  13. MSM does not dissolve well in aloe vera juice. Make sure you warm it a bit first it helps to dissolve, however I myself have found that it dissolves better in water, I do a 1/2 & 1/2 of water & aloe vera juice. When I did the aloe vera juice alone it turned a bit gritty. Still worked well just wasn't as smooth as I like it.
  14. I used some of my fortune cookie candy molds and they are great however I only have 2 and they only have 9 cookies in each of them.
  15. Mine is posted in the recipes section. I myself love it. Kelly’s Lip Butter 37.5% Mango Butter 25% Sweet Almond Butter 25% Avocado Oil 12.5% Beeswax Here is a tip that was given to me on the boards:
  16. I love this recipe. Granite I have only tried it once. I love it. And the 1/2 oz. size is perfect. I do however need to make a batch in a manly scent. My son has terribly dry skin. And these work great. I am however having trouble finding the perfect mold for these. Kelly
  17. Anytime I make a soap in which I use GM I put it in the fridge after pouring.
  18. If it were me I would follow the recipe as it says except I would exclude the menthol crystals. If you are using the eo's just mix them as it says minus the crystals and follow through with the recipe. I would also add my color to the eo mix or if you are not using the eo's and are using fo's instead mix the fo with the colorant and then continue with the recipe. Kelly
  19. Great. I was thinking something along those lines. Thanks Kelly
  20. The following oils work well when it comes to pain: St. Johns Wort Oil Infusion Emu Oil Arnica Oil Infusion Black Pepper EO Rosemary EO Lavender EO Peppermint EO
  21. When you make your lip balms or lip butters do you make your own base and just take out what you need when you need it or do you just make it as you need it? I was thinking that I should make up an 8 oz. base of my own recipe and use it as I need it. How do you do this? Kelly
