  1. I'd like to make a nice creamy butter myself but I have only had success so far making whipped butter. And I have to say the best recipe I have followed by far is Kimberlys Whipped Shea recipe - http://www.candletech.com/forums/showthread.php?t=97&highlight=Kimberlys+whipped+shea Kelly
  2. I spooned mine into the molds. I made ones that were 1 oz. and 1/2 oz. I have to agree though 1/2 oz. is perfect size it doesn't leave the tub an oily mess. Kelly
  3. Thanks so much! I will try that next time. So if I remelted do you think it would fix itself? Kelly
  4. What would cause this recipe to go grainy after a few days? It still melts into your lips but its somewhat grainy when it goes on. Did I do something wrong when I created the recipe? When I first made it it melted right into your lips with a nice smooth creamy feel. I thought at first it was the sweetener I added perhaps not getting it mixed all the way but its happening to some of the ones I didn't add sweetener to as well. 37.5% Mango Butter 25% Sweet Almond Butter 25% Avocado Oil 12.5% Beeswax Flavor Oil Sweetener is optional Thanks
  5. I recently received a soap that was made with Soymilk and it is very very nice. I also just made a soap myself made of Goats Milk, Soymilk and Coconut Milk. Turned out very nicely. Kelly
  6. If I do a water discount will that cause my soap to accelerate and begin to seize? Kelly
  7. I made these for the first time last night and they work really really well however this morning I noticed a bit of condensation on the tops of the ones I did not wrap. So I unwrapped one of the wrapped ones and the same thing kjust not quite as bad. Is this normal? Will it go away? And when should I wrap them? Thanks Kelly
  8. I made these just a bit ago. I think everything turned out ok. I scented with vanilla hazelnut and did fortune cookie shapes, frogs, turtles and regular tart shapes. They can be seen here! http://www.candletech.com/forums/showthread.php?p=566649#post566649
  9. This is a first time for making these for me. So far so good I made them in fortune cookie (about .5 oz) turtles & frogs (about 1 oz.) and regular tart shapes (0.5 oz). I scentd them in Vanilla Hazelnut. The little specs you see are lavender buds. The only cornstarch I had was some I had made some lavender baby powder out of. Which was ground lavender, oatmeal and cornstarch. Thanks for looking. Kelly
  10. Could I use my 3 oz. 6 cavity clamshells as molds for this?
  11. Thanks Lori! I'm slowly getting it back together. Got all the updates installed and got it networked in with my other 2 computers. I was smart enough this time to save all of my recipes!!!
  12. I apologize for the way this has posted. I am in the process of crashing and putting my laptop back together and for some reason I have no features available and it will only allow me to post in a paragraph. I will repost this recipe once I have corrected my laptop issues.Kelly
  13. 37.5% Mango Butter25% Sweet Almond Butter25% Avocado Oil12.5% BeeswaxFlavor OilSweetener is optionalI just learned how to make these and this is a simple recipe I came up with. I myself love it. It melts right into your lips. I attempted to add sweetener but that didnt turn out so well. And I also got to thinking that winter is almost here and I don't need to be licking it off my lips! LOL! If you try this let me know what you think.Kelly
  14. And no shipping either. I am so accident prone. I love this thing though. I can't believe how nice it made my soaps look even the ugly ones! Thanks everyone for your help. Kelly
  15. I got mine in the mail yesterday!!! I love it, however I was wondering for those of you who have one how do you clean it? Is it ok just to put it in soap and water? Is there a particular type of spnge or wash cloth I should use to clean the blade? Thanks Kelly
  16. Oh my gosh I just tried this recipe for the first time and I've never had a whipped butter come out so nice. I didn't have any hempseed butter so I used sweet almond instead and I used grapeseed oil for my oils. I 1/2ed the recipe but it's wonderful! Kelly
  17. Exactly what is fractionated coconut oil made of? Is it coconut oil mixed with another oil or diluted in water or something?
  18. There is an oil coop going on right now on the boards.
  19. I have not used frozen milk as of yet. I myself just make sure its extrememly cold.
  20. I haven't even attempted to cut it yet. It's been done about 2 days now. How long do you think I should wait to cut it? If I take it out of my mold will it harden enough to cut?
  21. Hardness 35 Cleansing 13 Condition 61 Bubbly Lather 17 Creamy Lather 26 Iodine 62 INS 144
  22. New recipe I came up with: 23% Lard 19% Coconut Oil 23% Olive Oil 8% Sunflower Oil 6% Sweet Almond Oil 6% Avocado Oil 4% Castor Oil 3% Apricot Kernal Oil 4% Cocoa Butter 4% Mango Butter 7.44 oz Lye mixed in 8 oz. Aloe Vera Juice 12 oz. Milk Mixture 4 oz. cotton candy fo from Just Scent Milk Mixture: 57% Soymilk, 21% Goats Milk & 22% Coconut Milk. I put it in the fridge and it appears it gelled almost the whole way but not completely. So it will be multicolored. I'm wondering if next time I should freeze it? This is somewhat of an experiment. I love GM soap and while at the store saw the soy and coconut and figured what the heck. If I don't refrigerate my milk soaps will they be ok? I'm just worried it will heat to much and crack but at the same time I would prefer not to have the multi colored partial gelled soap. Ideas or suggestions? Kelly
