  1. Yes, it's great MP soap. A lot of mp-ers use this soap exclusively. Comes in a lot of varieties too.
  2. Hi Dee! I get mine (I'm in NJ) from kycandle supplies: http://www.kycandlewaxsupply.com/bathandbody.htm. They're in Kentucky and sh Scrooooooooooooooll down to the bottom of the page. She's a fast shipper too. Kangeroo Blue - www.kangerooblue.com also carries the bases, but I think they're a little more expensive. Hope this helps!
  3. I guess the title says it all. Has anyone used their melt and pour base? I had my eye on WSPs, but I would have to order in small increments because their shipping charges are so high! It's cheaper to order twice by using the flat rate shipping. But, since soaper's choice comes in those huge blocks, I don't want to get stuck with pounds of yukky soap base. Any comments on the base are welcomed! ps I also add shea and other butters to my soap (up to the point where it doesn't impede the lather) can that improve a bad soap base? Thanks!
  4. I find their flavor oils to be of great quality. I do not add the sugar kisses to mine, but I might try that next time I order. I have used honey, strawberry swirl, mango mango and chocolate cream.
  5. Thanks abbie - I think what I'll do is create a special hostess gift for my friend as well as give her the choice of cash or products. Glad that 10% is a decent rate.
  6. Try www.directfloral.com. They have a nice selection of baskets at good prices. Their minimum purchase requirements aren't high either.
  7. Hi ladies: Long story short: a friend of mine is hosting a party with my products. She is providing the place, the vittles and the folks. I will also be inviting some of the people who were at the last open house. My question: I just want to offer her 10% total take off the top to keep it simple. How does that sound? Should I also offer free products if the total take is over a certain amount?
  8. Thanks soapmom. I think I'll try Ebay. I'm not buying them to resell...so I'd probably do better either at goplanetearth or ebay.
  9. I emailed them some time ago and received a pdf file that basically lists all their products with the number and price. Seems linke the pdf file with their products and the wholesale website have different prices and different minimums. The webbie has only a 50.00 minumum and a 10 mold min, mix and match. The pdf has a 100.00 min. and it looks like you must by six of each mold. Hmmmm, seems easier and faster to order from the website. Less confusion for me.
  10. That's what I figured too, but that's so cheap that I was suspicious!! Well, I'm just going to place the order for the molds and see. Their soap,(which I don't buy) is 4-5 lb packs for 11.00 wholesale. Doesn't that seem really low? Or is their soap that low quality?
  11. Has anyone ordered wholesale from life of the party? I have the order form but I'm a little confused. I called the company but had more questions after I hung up the phone. Say I wanted to buy a soap kettle. The order form lists them as 2 in a pack, which means I'd have to buy two, and the price is listed at 15.00. Does that mean 15.00 wholesale for 2 or are they 15.00 each, thereby if I bought the 2 pack it would cost me 30.00 wholesale. My brain is tired. Thanks for any help.
  12. I use extravirgin olive oil and castor oil for my ocm. My face is also very dry and I've found that a mix of 80/20 (evoo/co) works for me. I've also used jojoba in place of the evoo. The castor oil is the "cleansing oil". Hope this helps.
  13. It is really cute - I really like the colors.
  14. That is such great news. It's nice to have have sort of a "bricks and mortar" store w/out the huge overhead. Good luck to you!!
  15. Shrink wrap and glue dots works for me. In addition, selecting a box that the basket just fits in ("snug") helps.
  16. Speaking of being on the back of a van.....vista print is now offering those magnetic signs that you put on your car for free (you have to pay shipping of course, but a good deal nonetheless). Way OT - I visited Phoenix and Flagstaff in August of 1994. It was 110 degrees during the day and I absolutely loved it. It was strange to me to see decorative stone in front yards instead of grass (I'm from the Garden State, NJ) but what gorgeous weather. I'd rather be in AZ with 110 degree and no humidity than some of the sticky summers we have here in NJ. (but I would miss the Jersey shore lol)
  17. If you can handle it for about two more months (and I know that's a lot, especially if you're working two jobs) try to hang in there. I would venture to say that business will pick up in the summer months - soon as it becomes a little warmer.
  18. I highly recommend stat counter - and I've used lots of counters. The stats are quite useful.
  19. I agree that the SFIC bases also last quite a while. I also add olive oil at 1 TBS pp (got that tip from Pepperi) and that seems to help with hardness.
  20. I second the cocoa powder - it works very well for a brown color in your soaps. And 1 oz of Mica is a LOT. You won't run out anytime soon. Enjoy!!
  21. I used to use SFIC bases, but have recently switched to WSP. I use the shea butter base, but I add so much of my own stuff, it might not matter which kind of base I use, if you know what I mean. But using it right out of the package, it seems to me to be almost the same caliber as SFIC. I've also heard excellent things about essentials by catalina bases, but I just can stomach shipping from CA (I'm in NJ)
  22. I have to jump on the castor oil bandwagon - works well for my dd. I add it to my melp/pour soaps and am making her a special cream (that I won't sell) with shea, mango and castor.
  23. Maybe try essentialwholesale? I've looked at their bases (never bought so can't give a testimonial). Not sure if they have soy bases though, but I recall seeing organic bases.
  24. I would think the bath water would need to be really hot in order for the creamer to dissolve properly. I've tried adding creamer to lukewarm coffee (because I was in such a hurry to drink it and didn't want to wait for the microwave to fully warm it) and the non-dairy creamer lumped up on me. Also, some of the flavored dairy creamers contain sugar - not so good for some in the bath, even in small amounts. But why not try it?? I usually try almost anything - I learn LOT from my mistakes. Take it from the woman who tried to shrink wrap a lotion bar, ok? LOL:cool2:
  25. I agree with the above. People like to "nest" in the winter and cozy up.
