  1. Yes, I had a few cases from a previous wax order that had quite a bit of water in it also. No problems with the new cases though.
  2. I have a Dell 3110 that I bought about 18 months ago. I actually bought it from Sams online cheaper than Dell had it at the time, I think it was around $350. I Love it. Have had no problems. Came with a good supply ink (toner cartridges) that I haven't had to replace yet.
  3. I know I have been struggling with finding just the right one also. I have several that are pretty good. I like Keystone Salty Sea Air, and oceans by Peaks, but they still aren't the perfect sea smell I was looking for. However, I just did a tester of the new SeaMist from CS. So far, both my DH (who never comments on very many) and my son, said it was a really good scent. I really like it, although I don't know if it really smells ocean/sea enough?
  4. Bittercreek has one. It breaks it down into differnt sizes for B&B. Not sure if that is the one you saw.
  5. Those look really great! I want to eat them! Makes my attempt at my bath bombs look pretty sad! Great idea!
  6. I test from beginning to end if I find it is a scent I want to keep. Many times, I determine after I start testing, that it is not a scent I want to add, (I have way too many to begin with - so I have to start being really picky about adding new ones) For those, I don't even bother to finish testing. Those I give out to family and friends. I too, used to offer a discount to customers when they returned the jars to me. I didn't make them clean them out. I would then reuse those jars for testing only, or for myself or family. Being that when I am testing, I normally try to makeup at least 6-12 different scents at a time to test, I go through quite a bit of jars. My problem is I have soo many FO's in my collection, because of my addiction that I don't think I will ever get to test them all. I don't offer this to new customers anymore, cuz it just started to get to be kind of a pain. I have dozens of jars that need to still be cleaned out. I still have a few old customers that I still continue to offer this to. It is not a bad thing, because you get to see how your candles burned, people like the discounts - it keeps your customers coming back for more, and it provides you with lots of extra jars for testing and personal use.
  7. I just tested Green grass from NG. It was very nice actually. The ones I tried in the past were nasty in my opinion. I had a customer ask for this. I think it smells like the real thing, and is clean smelling. I haven't tried the one from MC though. I also mixed it with some rain, and that was really nice too!
  8. Holly, I have tried various things also. I liked the little hex jars, but too heavy to carry around, and have to worry about broken glass. I agree the tins can rust, the little watchmakers case tins, too small. So I have started using the 1 oz jars basic PET jars from WSP. I have been using them for well over a year now, and everything is holding and smelling fine. I only had a problem once, and that was when I poured way too hot, it kinda melted the jar a bit on top. Other than that, I pour them last after I finish pouring and have no problems. I like them because they're lightweight and easy to carry around. I put them in a shallow flip top plastic storage container from Walmart, and I can fit quite a bit in there too. Hope that helps!
  9. they have it. It is under the low-shrink Parrafin Blends
  10. Seems like that would be a lot easier than trying to fit all the ingredients on those small bottles & containers. A card, or paper to include in the bag is a great idea. Now that I think of it, that's how it comes when you get gift w/ purchase from Estee Lauder or Clinique, etc. Thanks for the suggestions!
  11. Thanks so much for the answer Mystical. It makes sense, however, on the bottles I have ,it doesn't say that anywhere. I would be selling small little gift bags wholesale, with little sample bottles in them that the person would be giving out to clients, etc. She wouldn't be reselling them. In that case, I could get by with labeling them without the ingredients if it said " Not labeled for retail sale" ? Thanks again!
  12. Thanks for the help! I know others carry it, but wasn't sure how close they are to Keystone. I have a sample of the one from FOC. It's similiar, not exactly the same to my nose though. Does anyone know if JS or ICS are close?
  13. Does anyone know if any other suppliers have Salty Sea Air that smell like Keystone? They are out of stock. I need some ASAP. Thanks!
  14. I like JBN or KY (smell pretty much the same) I have used in 4630 & J233, and they are both very strong and yummy!
  15. Hi, Just wondering what the rules are for sample sizes (say 1 oz. sizes of shampoo, lotion, shower gel, etc.) I would think that the same rules would apply for listing ingredients and size. However, I have several sample sizes that I received from various places that I received from hotels and such. Most of them do not list ingredients, and some don't even give the product size. These are from big mfg also, such as Lord & Mayfair. Does anyone know if there are different rules for the really small sizes? Otherwise, I don't know how they can do it. Thanks for your help!
  16. I noticed that IGI, is now calling this 4630A instead of 4630. I pour this wax in enamelware canisters that are a little more than 4 " across. Pouring at about 160ish. They do dip in the middle. I usually just use a heat gun to even it out. I think this wax is only supposed to be good for up to 16 oz. candles for a one pour. The wider containers are the problem. Anyway, I have been using this for quite a few years now, and really like it.
  17. Hi Cathy, Could you tell me what the Northwoods smells like. BNL used to carry one with the same name. I really like it, but can't find it anymore. It smells more clean and green vs. Pine type. Thanks!
  18. I LOVE LOVE Blue Sugar! Have only tried BCN so far, but everyone loves it.
  19. Thanks everyone for the advice and encouragement. I have alot of thinking and researching to do yet. I think there might be a need, but like I said it would be a huge investment for me. That wouldn't be so bad if the profit potential was there, but wax margins are tight!! I see why a lot of suppliers steer more to the oils and smaller supplies. Unless you are a distributor, and can buy in very high volumes, than the pricing isn't that great. I will definately keep you posted on where I end up going with this. Leandra, I am curious where you used to purchase your wax in the Milwaukee area, I haven't come across any suppliers that sell IGI except for BCN (way too far) and DPS in IL. Just from my rough figures, I wouldn't be way over the price they are getting, maybe $5-7 a case more (again this is just a rough estimate), which would easily be made up by the savings in shipping. So it should still be beneficial to people that don't mind driving a little and stocking up. Oh yeah, and by the way, IGI wax is gonna be going up again beginning of December. Just what we need- another increase!! I'm sure soy is going up to from what I heard.
  20. Hello Everyone, I hope I am posting this in the correct spot - or mod please move I am a small chandler who has been doing this for about 7 years. I have been contemplating opening a small candle suppy business for quite some time. In doing research, I have always been scared off because unless you are big, it is very hard to be competitive with the big guys especially where wax is concerned. However, Wax and jars is what kills all of us smaller guys with the shipping. I always try to buy in large bulk whenever possible, but for a lot of people that just insn't possible. I am just trying to survey those out there in my neck of the woods to see what kind of interest might be out there who would be potentially interested in buying wax and jars in particular where you could pick it up and save all the $$ from shipping. I would be just small time to begin with so my pricing wouldn't be as competitive as the big guys. In my research, I have found that there is not much $$ to be made in wax, unless you can order big, and sell in volume. This fact has prevented me in the past from moving forward, because it doesn't look too profitable. However, I am a sucker for punishment, and would like to see more opportunity for those in this part of the country. How I envy all of those in OH, and East coast locations that can drive to pick up supplies! Even starting small, there would be quite a sizeable investment on my part in getting stocked up on wax and jars. Before, I get too far in, I really wanted to see what kind of need or interest there is out there to see if I should continue to pursue. For wax I would be looking at carrying: IGI 4630, 6006, 4627, 4694 possibly to start. Soy - Ecosoya's and possibly GB or Cargill depending on interest. For jars: Definately, the 8 oz mason jars. Also, Apothecaries, possibly Tureens, and whatever else is most popular. Even though my prices may be a bit higher, it could potenially save those a lot in shipping charges overall, if people could pick up. The shipping for the heavy items is killing all of us smaller businesses. I would probably offer some type of delivery service for those that can't pick up, but would still save over shipping UPS. I am located about 20 miles south of Milwaukee. So for all those chandlers out there please let me know if there would be an interest for you. And what types of wax jars, etc you would be looking for. Sorry so long, I look forward to hearing from all you out there. PM me with any ???? Thanks Again! Heidi
  21. I am pretty sure WSP has this one.
  22. I know, I ordered a sample of the Sweet Cinnamon Pumpkin also. I really like that one and was trying to order more, and that's when I found out she is no longer selling FO's. Bummer Does anyone know of a similiar one?
  23. Maybe they don't do as well in Soy? but in Parrafin off the top of my head I've had good luck with: Carmel Apple Pomegranate All of the Downy's Christmas Splendor Apple Orchard Fudge Brownie
  24. I actually have the bottle and it was just called "Northwoods" from BNL. I think it may have been an older one. It still smells really good though. I have the Northwoods Christmas from BCN, but it is not at all the same. It must have been one that she carried, and then discontinued I'm guessing. Thought maybe someone might have remembered it. Thanks for the help!
