  1. That's OK, I wondered the same thing the first time I used mine. :smiley2: Once it is melted in there you just leave it in there and unplug as usual. It will keep the coils protected that way. Normally, I never leave it get below that level again. You are always adding additional wax to the fryer and just make sure that you don't let it run so low that the coils aren't covered in the future. Hope that makes sense. You will love it! Don't know how I survived with out it now!
  2. I use LX's for the most part and normally use 2 16's as a standard. 14's for the less heavy scents. I haven't tried the so have no comparison there.
  3. Great ideas everyone! That will definately give me some mixing ideas to play with. I had this Honey that I haven't done too much with so far, and knew there had to be some good mixing ideas for it! I just poured a whole bunch of spring/floral testers for my upcoming show, so I will post some results on those in a few days. Thanks Again!!!
  4. Looking for some different scent mixing ideas for Honey. I have OMH & just Poured a sample of the the Honey Patchouli from Flickers - which really surprised me because I actually like it (I have to test it yet) but so far I was pleasantly surprised, as normally I do not like Patchouli at all. Anyways, I have some of the Bacci de Miele from OM, and am looking for some other ideas to mix it with besides just leaving it straight. I was thinking some florals or fruity types. Does anyone have any good mixing ideas for this? TIA!
  5. Wow! Those are some great sounding combo's!! I was going to do them in layers with pastel/spring colors, so this will give me some great ideas to work with. THanks everyone for all your help, now if I can ever get done with my damn taxes I might be able to play again I'm ready to scream!! I love the candle biz all year until Tax time - then I wonder why the Hell I put myself through all this agony. THanks!
  6. I've been wanting to create some double layer candles for Spring. I would like to mix some Spring type or Florals together So OK, all you creative minds, Who's got some good ideas??? So far I'm thinking: Lilac with Lily of the Valley? Tulips & Daffodils Rose & Gardenia? (probably too strong together) Honeysuckle & ( I already have the Honeysuckle Jasmine from CS- which I Love so looking for something else to go with it) or maybe I'll just skip the Honeysuckle Rain & Fresh Cut Grass Hydrangea & Doesn't have to be all florals, just something that says SPRING I'm sick & tired of snow & cold definately ready for Spring! TIA!
  7. I have used KY Toasted Marshmallow, and so far it hasn't turned brown, has turned slightly yellowish in tarts though. Smells great!
  8. You might want to try here. http://www.craftwholesalers.com/
  9. OK, Guess I can't help with that. Good luck with your search!
  10. I think I have some 12 oz like that. How many are you looking for?
  11. That's funny, I was just on their site because I had to order some more of the Lime Mint, and noticed everything was 25% off. COOL! - Now instead of ordering 1 or 2 things like I should, I have $100+ in my cart now. But I haven't pressed the button yet. Maybe If I wait it out a little bit, the temptation will go away??? :laugh2: By the way, I like a lot of their fragrances but between the price and the shipping I usually don't order much. What I have tried and really liked: Cracking Firewood (although I recently had a bad batch which they credited me for) Lime Mint SeaGlass Sun & Sand Maple Pecan Streusel Hot Fudge Brownies Passionfruit & Pineapple Beneath the Stars Calming Waters Lemon Lavender Aqua Spa Wedding Day That's all I can think of off the top of my head. l
  12. I have the NG Old Fashioned Banana Pudding, and I love it! It has a sensational HT in Para blend, although I can't get many people to try it. Those who have, Love it. Don't think you will be disappointed in that one. I also use their Iced Cinnamon Rolls and that is really good also, comparable to others that I have tried.
  13. Getting ready to place an order at CS. Wondering if anyone has tried either of these? I've tried several Lilacs and seen many reviews on different ones, but haven't heard much about theirs. Also had someone looking for a Fresh Bread. Thanks!
  14. Ok, Thanks for the ingredients, I didn't think there was anything really special in there. I'll just have to play around with it. Thanks Again!
  15. OK, I'm a dork! :embarasse The stuff I was thinking of is the "One Minute Manicure" I am looking for a recipe similiar to that. I know it is like a scrub mixture with oils and sea salt. Now that I figured out what I was actually talking about, does anyone have a recipe like this? Thanks Again!
  16. I have a wholesale customer who is looking to add some type of spa hand treatment product. She originally wanted a Hot Paraffin wax treatment, but I really don't want to try that with the liability issues. So she is looking for something that would be similiar. I was thinking along the lines of something that would be similiar to the manicure miracle treatment (not sure exactly what it is called) that you see at some salons. Does anyone have any ideas? TIA for you help!
  17. Ok, I am going to try Alabaster 1st, since I am already getting a order from them, but will keep the others in mind in case it doesn't work out. I'm going to give Taylored Concepts a call to see what they have to say about the BBQ/steakhouse one. I didn't know that there was a Southern Comfort scent out there, so I will give it a try, hopefully that will make him happy at least it's Whiskey right? Thanks everyone for all the ideas - I appreciate it!
  18. I am looking for a Midsummer night dupe, I saw some posts that Peaks was good, but was wondering if anyone can vouch for the one from Alabaster, as I am already getting a whole bunch of jars from there? Also I have a wholesale customer who wants a Steakhouse or BBQ type scent for a Men's line. I have had no luck trying to find that one. THis has to be food type BBQ/etc not a campfire type smell. Any ideas?? Oh yeah, and then I have my son's friend that keeps asking for a candle that smells just like Jack Daniels. He just loves that scent and if only I could make that for him he would be soooo happy. :rolleyes2 I would be happy to just have some "normal requests" Thanks for your help!
  19. I tried the Sea Glass, thought it was a very nice scent. I really liked it. Haven't decided if I want to add it to my line being that it is so expensive though.
  20. I changed the name to Wildberry Smoothie.
  21. Which ones did you try? That scent was also one of my favorites. I haven't burned one of theirs in ages, so not posiitve how close it is., but I love Peak's. I also have several customers that only buy that scent. I think CS is similiar also.
  22. I love pumpkin scents! - which is weird because I hate pumpkin pie or anything with pumpkin in it for food. But anyway I was mixing up a whole bunch of different combos from stuff I had in my cabinet trying to come up with something different. (trying not to go as crazy with the new oil purchases this year- Yeah right , will see how long that lasts! The possibilities seem endless. THis is what I tried so far using various different pumpkin scents such as Solas Pumpkin Spice, BCN closeout, BW Yummy Punkin. Pumpkin & Cranberry Marmalade-didn't test yet Pumpkin & Hot Fudge Brownie - didn't test yet Pumpkin & Coffee Bean - good & strong, just needs something else maybe a touch of vanilla or carmel. Pumpkin & Carmelized Pralines-didn't test Pumpkin & Snickerdoodle - Burning now - smells Great! Pumpkin & Gingerbread-didn't test Pumpkin & Lavender (got that one from here somewhere) smells really good - clean and different. Most of them smelled really good in the wax, now I just have to test the rest of them. Any ideas on what to call the Pumpkin & Lavender? Anyone else have any great pumpkin mixing ideas? I already carry at least 3 pumpkin scents, but I can't help myself!
  23. Thanks for the suggestions. The pumpkin combo sounds really good. I have a couple different Apple J&P's, but I don't think they are lotion safe. I was thinking something with maple might be good too.
  24. Hi, I'm looking for suggestions for a good fall type fragrance to use in body butter and scrubs. I know I am going to do something Pumpkin for sure, and only want to have 2-3 different ones at the most. Just looking for something good and different. Any ideas??? TIA!
