  1. I can't remember what Yank** smells like, but I have one from TC that smells really good. I haven't tried the one from JBN yet.
  2. Hi, I was wondering if anyone is familiar with this scent that BNL used to carry. BCN doesn't carry it now. I received some off the classys awhile back, and have a few people that really like it. Its not so much a pine type, more just crisp outdoor scent. It is strong and fresh. Now that I figured out I really like it, I don't know if I can find something similiar to it. Any suggestions? I appreciate the help!
  3. Purple Hippie, I'm glad to know I'm not the only one that has that problem. I too, made candles & bath & body products with it, because I LOVE how it smells, especially in candles. But when I recently did a small survey of some of my lotion samples that one consistently ranked towards the bottom. Go figure! I thought everyone would think it was awesome, like I did. Well, I guess I will just enjoy it all to myself.
  4. Well, it's good to know that she is not alone in this! I never really paid much attention to there being a certain scent to it. I guess it may not be so unusual after all. She might be on to something by golly! I will have to check with Taylored Concepts to see if they have such a thing. Thanks!
  5. Okay, I had a strange request today. Someone was looking for a fresh ink smell. Like when you open up a brand new magazine, there is a certain smell to it that she apparently really likes. Wow, that is not something that ever crossed my mind. I had to open up my new magazine that I got in the mail today and give it a sniff, so I could try and see what she was talking about. I guess there is a certain scent to it, but can't imagine how (or why) you would want to recreate that? Well, I guess to each his own. I'm sure there have been much stranger requests, but this was on the top of my list. Has anyone heard of such a thing?
  6. I currently have some JS Lemon Sugar that I used for Body Butter. It smells really good and Lemony. Reminds me of Lemon Bars. I am thinking I would like it to be a little less bakery like. Can anyone tell me between JS, FOH or Solas which they like best? Also, I have heard great things about BCN(BNL) Lavender Basil. I have a sample of ICS's Lavender Basil, is that anything like it? Or is the BNL way better in your opinion? TIA for all your help! :smiley2:
  7. Hi, To go with your question Holly, I just wanted to mention about Peak's BNB also. I have been using it for a few years and LOVE IT. And have a few customers that will only order that scent and nothing else because they love it too. I know when I seen the raves about CS BNB, I thought - Hmm could it be better??? Am I missing something. I hate to miss things you know. But I had already just received my CS sample order, and had to control myself to not just go out and order some more right away. So I would love to know if anyone has actually compared it to Peak's too.
  8. Well, tried 2 smaller batches with the scent whipped in. They turned out pretty good. They are still holding there whipped texture since Sun. I did not use the freezer at all just my KA and kept whipping. Next time I am going to try it with making the batch and then separating them out into jars and mixing in the scent instead of whipping to see what happens. I'll keep you posted. Thanks everyone for your help!! :smiley2:
  9. Hi, Can someone tell me if this is pretty much the same as Creme Brulee? I have been using JBN Creme Brulee which I really love. I received a tart from someone of the Daystar's and thought that smelled alot alike (possibly better?) So now I am confused, I can't decide which I like better, of course I haven't burned the Daystar one. I am running low, and need to order some more soon. Any thoughts on if these are very close. Or if you prefer one over the other? TIA for your help!!
  10. Hello Everyone, I am just getting started to take a stab at making the Whipped Body Butter. My question is when adding FO is it OK to add later, as in stirred in separately after you finish making it. or does it have to be whipped in when you are making the batch? I would like to make a bigger batch, and then scent them individually to try several different scents. I didn't know if this would cause it to go flat or lose the whipped texture. Just wondering how most people go about it. Thanks for your help!
  11. Just to clarify, I definately wasn't going to Sell anything . I am not even sure that they are rancid. (I know that sounds bad - like why would I even want to use something that was rancid right?) It was just that they really don't smell bad to me. That is why I was questioning, if there was any harm in using them for personal use if it is past the normal "shelf life" and they don't seem bad to me, but maybe they really are and I just can't tell. Does that make sense?
  12. I had the same problem with her, she did my labels a few years ago. I was happy with the design, and very inexpensive. But also very unreliable. Same thing, weeks without no response to email or phone calls. It was like pulling teeth to get something changed or revised sometimes. So, since then I have been doing my own, but I am no expert and it can be pretty time consuming when I want to do different designs to get it laid out correctly. I would prefer to have someone lay them out for me with the designs I am looking for, but then print them myself. Because I much rather be spending my time making candles and such. I would be interested to know if someone has found anyone else that is reasonable and reliable for the smaller businesses.
  13. Thank - You! I was going to toss too, and they were almost full bottles. But I thought, if there wasn't any harm then I would just keep for myself. I have VERY dry skin and can get some use of them I'm sure. Thanks for saving me a few Bucks!!
  14. Hi, This may seem like a dumb question. But I was wondering if you you weren't sure if your oils (for instance SAO or GRapeseed) went rancid or not, is there any danger in using them on your body just as a straight oil for moisturizing. Feet, legs, etc. Not to sell to anyone. Is it just that they can smell off, or is there actually some harm in using them. Mine have been stored in a cool area, the SAO does smell a little stronger than I remember, but not really bad. I'm not sure if it's bad or not, and would use it for myself even if it had a slight odor to it. Thanks for your help!
  15. Hello, I need to place a order with Snowtop for some Cranberry Orange Spice. (One of my FAVS) I was wondering if anyone had any reviews for the Woodland Spice or Tart Green Apple. Or any other ones for that matter. I am using Paraffin. I have tried the Baked Apples which was VERY GOOD. Country Grove was OK, but not exactly what I was looking for. Raspberry Dream very good OOB. Has anybody tried these? TIA for your help!
  16. Hi, I want to order the Comfy Cabin from here, and have never ordered from there before. Of course I don't want to just order 1 thing. Does anyone else have any r/o's on some good ones from them? (I use Paraffin) TIA for your help!!
  17. First of all, just wanted to say HI to everyone , NEWBIE to this board, (I registered on this board a few months back, but have yet to post. Mostly, because everytime I go to ask something, I do a search first, and usually find what I am looking for. Lots of helpful people out there! I have been making candles for about 4 years, but mostly pretty small scale. Just lately, have stepped it up quite a bit though. I am wondering if anyone can r/o a Great Sugar Cookie for Paraffin. I already have BCS, but looking for something a little stronger if possible. I am planning on placing an order soon from MC, Peaks, and JS. Do any of theirs make the top of the list? If not, I am open to suggestions. Also looking for Strong Bayberry, and a good sweet Sugar Plum (not Spiced) TIA for your help!!
