  1. Now that I moved, I am wondering if there are any bulk Soaping supply places in the Southeast that are similar to Soapers Choice? I used to be able to pick up from them, and stocked up once a year to really save on shipping. Adding shipping prices are really a killer for my costs now.😬
  2. I just saw this now. Just after reading about NG. I've been a customer for about the same time, and like you got started making candles with my very first kit back then from BC. Makes me sad!
  3. Wow, This is so depressing!! I had slowly stopped using WSP past several years because of the insane prices on their oils, but remember the days not that long ago when you could order from NG and most of them were about $13-$14 lb. then if you bought 5, you would get another $1 off each. Although some of their oils weren't the highest quality, they did have some great ones that were good performers & best sellers for me. Rustic E was one of my favorite suppliers for years, then WSP took over. Oils that I paid $16-$17 lb for few years ago, went to close to $30 over more when WSP took over. Didn't know that Flaming went with them too. I think I will have to throw in the towel if FB, Aztec or any of the others decide to sell. Horrible news!
  4. Ok, That sounds great! I will have to try it next time I order with them. Thank-You!
  5. I was wondering if you ever compared NG Mango Sorbet to WSP? I have used WSP in soap for years, but like everything else there the prices are getting ridiculous. Have been trying to replace most fragrances from them with more affordable alternatives.
  6. Thanks! I know I have had a few vanillas do that even just stored in cooler basement. So if the building is not heated, It would be freezing temps, but didn't think the oils would actually freeze. Just didn't want to damage them. We are Around the Goldsboro area where my Son is Stationed. We looked at condos near Topsail Isl a few years back, that is nice. Where on coast are you?
  7. Thank you for letting me know. That is funny because we will be doing the same thing. NE in the the summer and then looking to be in NC in the Winter. I know it could get freezing temps in the Winter so that is all I would worry about. But maybe in the fridge or freezer unplugged might help insulate them too. I don't really want to have to move around either. and I still have ALOT of oils.
  8. We are going to be moving soon, and I am also going to be downsizing my biz quite a bit. My new studio space will not be heated in the Winter. It is in the Northeast, where temps can get in the teens in the winter and even below zero on occasion. I've always kept my oils in cabinets in our cool and dark basement, and over the past 20 years have not had issues with oils going bad. In my new space they will be stored inside cabinets, kept in my unheated shop. Do you think this will pose a problem?? As many of you, I have accumulated tons of oils over the years, with Thousands of dollars worth of product, and I don't want to damage them. What are your thoughts?? P.S. I will also be selling tons of candle jars, and thousands of cosmetic bottles/jars/lids etc. My problem is I am under a very tight time frame, and dont have time to list, and ship a bunch of stuff, I will post under Classy's but if anyone is local to SE Wisc, and is interested please let me know. Thanks!
  9. That is great to know! I wouldn't have thought of trying that. Thanks so much for the experiment & helpful tip!
  10. I happened to come across this thread as my last Cuisinart blender is making grinding noises, and on it's last legs. I bought one from Costco, but it had the lock and unlock buttons, that I found hard to use with 1 hand (unless I am doing something wrong) Many of the ones I was searching for now have this lock feature on them, which I find to be cumbersome. Any one else notice this, or have any issues with that? For years I had great luck with my Cuisinart's but of course they had to change the design now. The Amazon basics one looks very similar to the one from Costco.
  11. I happened to come across this thread, I have slowly moved away from them over the years because of a few CS issues that I wasn't happy with, but still used their Mistletoe as it is a great seller. I am assuming that this one is changed also as it says reformulated. Just realized I am almost out at the worse possible time of year! Has anyone tried the new version of this or know of anything close to their old one? I did see that AFI has their dupe of it.
  12. Thanks TallTayl! Sounds like the primera was a great investment. Good to know about the HP. I can handle a jam once in awhile. But this is jamming every single sheet & curling up really bad with several labels coming off each time also. So this is not going to work for these labels at all.
  13. After using a Dell for years, I just bought a new Xerox Laser Printer. The colors are exceptional compared to my old printer, but now all my Glossy Clear labels are getting jammed & labels come off on the roller no matter which media setting I have tried. & they are the ones made specifically for Laser printer. Very frustrating! Most of my labels are printed on paper label stock, and those look great, so now debating if I should return it & try to find something that will work great for both types of labels. Does anyone print a lot of these type of labels, and if so what type of printer works well for these?
  14. I happened to see this post, and thought I would jump on the bandwagon to RANT about my recent experiecne that I had with them too. Before Christmas I had a 16 oz bottle of fragrance in my cart that was 19.97. I left my cart for a little while to figure out what else I needed, and then when I went to place my order it said the 16 oz was out of stock. but I could order 2 of the 8 oz just fine. Being that the 8 oz are 12.88 that adds quite a bit more to the cost & of course who wants to pay an extra $6 for the same amount? I gave them a call to explain that it was just in my cart & when I went to check out it said not available, but the 8 oz were, could they just adjust my price so that I could still get it at the Pound price? They said they can not do that, as the price is already figured for the additional labor cost. Really? I realize there is a slight cost for extra bottle & cap, but I had over $100 in my cart, I just think it would be good customer service to do that. I know several other suppliers that run out, and just automatically send 2 8 oz or even 4 4 oz. So then I mentioned the high shipping cost. I asked why when I was ordering only a few bottles why it was so high, but I can order much more from other suppliers who will ship Flat Rate, for much cheaper. They said they have been trying to find a way to use the Flat Rate, but they haven't figured out a way to account for all the different items that someone could order. ???? I suggested, well how about at least offering it for Fragrance oil only orders? No, they can't do that, because they need to be able to ship other things in the same box. & they won't know what will fit with all the different combinations, weights etc. & they don't want to overcharge the customer, they want it to be accurate. Ok, well I said I have ordered from other suppliers, who have refunded me the difference if the actual shipping amount ended up being less. Oh no, they would never do that, they do not want to be in the practice of overcharging & then refunding - that isn't good customer service - Oh but just flat out overcharging for shipping is good CS? I ended up just ordering 2 items, and deleted everything else out of my cart. I don't plan on ordering again anytime soon, sometimes you need to bend the rules a bit or be flexible to meet your customer's needs. There are plenty of other suppliers out there that are more than willing to do just that.
  15. thought this was a good time to chime in on problems with the IGI. I have used 4630 for years, never had any issues, Ordered quite a few cases late last fall, and had nothing but issues with it. Instead of being a one pour, I had cracks & craters in almost every candle. Also, was burning hot with way more soot! Complained to supplier, they went back to IGI, who came back with a bunch of instructions & questions on how I was using it. Well I haven't changed a thing, in over 10 years & it was working just fine up until this batch, so HELLO- I don't think it has anything to do with what I am doing. After some back & forth, I found out that IGI had other complaints on this batch, from other suppliers, & they ended up replacing it - THANK GOD! The new batch is working just as it always has in the past. So yes, I would say they are definitely having some Quality control issues there. - very frustrating, when you count on it to be consistent. Who has time, to retest, and fix batches when you are coming up to the busiest time of year.
  16. I can't say about the fragrance changing, but I can say that I wouldn't ever order anything from them again. I had a whole cart full of products when they were having their sale last year before the move. It would not accept any of my credit cards when I was trying to check out - I emailed several times with no response, then finally a response that she would check into it. Still nothing - waited another few days, tried again, & they never did get back to me. This was over a few weeks span. I understand that you are moving, but you can't at least acknowledge the customer & explain? It was over $100 in my cart - some things I really wanted to try, but that is just terrible CS - there are enough other places that are happy to take my money If you treat your customers with such little regard, then you don't deserve the business. - RANT!
  17. Trappeur: Heartfelts Pine was very popular with a lot of people on the board back in the day. It smells almost identical to Bert's Pine to me, and to other people that I had try it when I had to make the switch. I had ordered quite a stash of Bert's before she went OOB, but thought I still had one bottle left, bud couldn't locate it of course, that is why I was very excited to find the HF one the other day! To me it is just a nice strong Clean Pine scent without any fake smell. All my Customer's loved my Pine, so I never really ventured out to try many more after that. It was based on reviews here that I tried the FMC, after I exhausted all my supplies. I do really like that also, to me it smells a bit more realistic pine/balsam but I had some candles made up with my old Bert's Pine, & some with Fillmore with different names, and almost everyone bought the Bert's Pine - so go figure. I do think it was stronger, maybe that was part of it. I have many oils that I have had for years also that are just fine, I just didn't know if having an old oil to use for Duping purposes was going to throw anything off in the final Duplication. But oh well, guess I don't really have much of a choice, it's that one or nothing - I will be happy to post on here once I get it duped to see who would be interested in some. I am sure it will be awhile yet though. I do have a few sample bottles of various Bert's that I could possibly get duped to if there was interest - which ones were you looking for?
  18. For many years I used Heartfelts Rocky Mountain Pine, until sadly she went OOB, then I moved on to Bert's, which I was equally Happy with, Luckily before she went OOB I had ordered 10 lbs of it - since then I had to move on to Fillmore's Pine. One of my plans for the new year, is to start getting some of my most popular scents duped little by little (as it is expensive to buy the large qty at one time) By getting them duped or newly created, I am hoping to cut costs in the long run, and avoid the going OOB problems, and I also plan to use each of my fragrances in several different blends, to really get my bang for the buck. So I would begin with fragrances that can go in several different blends - Pine, Cranberry Orange Spice, etc. or ones that I currently use that I pay too much $$ per lb, but they are very popular fragrances My question is - I recently came across a small amount of Heartfelt's Rocky Mountain Pine - I think it smells fine, but I know that it is probably 4 + years old, can't remember when she went OOB. I am wondering how much this would affect the duplication if it is old? Otherwise, I do like Fillmore's but in my mind I think I liked HF & Berts better, at least I believe they were stronger? and I don't want to take any of the oil available to make a new candle, as I need enough to send in For those that have tried all of the above which one was your favorite??? I appreciate your thoughts!!
  19. Have you tried FB's? - I just ordered a bunch of oils from them but forgot to get a sample of that one. Would be curious how that one compares. so far I have been really happy with most everything I have ordered from them.
  20. Hi, I have a lot of items to list for Sale, so I created the list in Word, but now I can't figure out how to get it to paste in the box. I keep copying but it won't paste. I have tried all the little icons, and I tried the "Paste as Plain text", where it lets me paste my info in the text box, & hit OK, and nothing will paste in the ad.. I can' figure out what I am doing wrong, It will take me forever to retype everything. Any ideas?
  21. I've had this happen quite a few times and it was always with a new batch of fragrance, when in the past that same fragrance from same supplier worked fine. In my case, it wasn't the wax, because I was only having this happen with certain fragrances and the other candles from the same wax were just fine. I too believe it has something to do with the removal of the Phalate. (sp?) I first started experiencing this a few years ago with some of the WSP fragrances I was using at the time, namely the Crackling Firewood. I finally had to give up on that one entirely. I tried several different bottles, because it was a #1 seller for one of my wholesale accts. But, it was never the same. Then it started happening with others also, mostly the heavy oils like the fire type, cinnamon, sandalwood, etc. Very frustrating!!! Of course, the supplier never had anyone else experiencing these problems of course it must have just me.
  22. I normally pour 4.5 lb batches with 6 - 7% FO. How many batches depends on what I have going on. Sometimes I will cut that in half if it is a less popular scent. I try not to pour any less than that if I can help it in a batch. I find this to be the most efficient.
  23. Sorry, haven't seen them to purchase but my hubby made mine, and it didn't take him long at all. It is hinged, so it folds flat with 2 removable boards that slide in for shelves and stability. Don't know if you know anyone handy, but that might be your best bet?
  24. Another vote for Aroma Haven's I haven't tried Peaks so I can't compare, but I thought AH was very nice, although I don't sell alot of it.
  25. yep, I posted the same problem in another thread. I left at least 5 messages, and sent email. No response. Ironically, I was after the same oil, but after waiting for at least 5-6 weeks now couldn't wait anymore. I ended up ordering the Amish Harvest from TN instead based on other reviews I read on here. With that kind of customer service, I do not plan on ordering from them anymore EVER! Yes, they have good prices, and a few oils that I really liked but that is ridiculous to not even have the decency to return customer phone calls/emails. Guess they must not need our business I'll stick to the suppliers that actually treat their customers like they value their business. I would go elsewhere!
