  1. Whew! That was a LOT of money! I'm glad they came through. :highfive:
  2. I orderd samples of White Base, Goat Milk Base and the All Natural Base from Essentials By Catalina and LOVED the White and Goat Milk bases! The All Natural is good but didn't have as much lather as the other two....probably from the rich oils it contains. It would be a GREAT soap for people with very dry skin. The Goat Milk and the White bases had the best lather I've ever seen in a M&P...and even beat some CP's I've used. I like these much better than the SFIC bases I was using. I went down yesterday and picked up 20 pounds (because I live 30 minutes away) and was greeted and treated like a queen! Prarieannie was right...this is a wonderful company with fabulous soap bases!
  3. Mary, she agreed to a warning label but doesn't want me to put my info (company name, dot com) anywhere on it. I thought that was a bit odd since it's absence takes any liability out of my hands to some degree...doesn't it?
  4. BCN recommends "no more than 6%". Following their recommendation, I'm not over the limit yet. Thanks for the info. I don't know which Flavor Oils you use, CareBear. Sounds like they would be pretty luscious. Care to share?
  5. Thanks for all the great responses! I'm going to check into the cost of supplies and then get back to her with a quote. I'm excitedly nervous...this is my first big order! Carole, I hope they make the check good. Reading your post, I think I'll ask for a money order up front.
  6. Thanks for the info! I am definitely using Flavor Oils :-) I hardly smell a scent when I sniff the tube and I've let them sit now for three days. Can I use more than the recommended 6%? Is there a risk with using more?
  7. I've been asked by a local company to make 1000 travel tin soy candles with no labels and they are needed by the end of October. There will be two fragrances only. For a small scale business (one pouring pot), is it reasonable to think that 1000 travel tins can be made in 5 weeks time? Thanks for any input!
  8. I'm new to making lipbalms and bought a kit from BCN. Made several from the flavors I ordered (Cherry, Coconut, Honey)...and I'm not at all happy with the strength of the fragrance. Instructions said to add no more than 6%. Can I stick these tubes into the microwave to melt down the lipbalm so I can add more fragrance oil? (Melt down, pour into glass container, add more flavor oil...repour..blah, blah). I don't know if these tubes are microwave safe. Anyone know? Otherwise, I'm afraid the lipbalms I made are a total waste. TIA
  9. Mistletoe from CandleScience is my favorite Christmas pine scent.
  10. They look fantastic! Love the drizzle! Looks so real.
  11. I wrap my candles in bubble wrap and then pack them surrounded by packaging peanuts. When shipping only 6 candles, I use the $9.80 USPS Flat Rate box.
  12. I'm determined (eager!! ) to try their soap bases. The bases sound terrific and I wouldn't have to pay for shipping. They said I could pick up any orders I make and so I called them yesterday to place an order but they're on vacation until Sept 2nd, though. I'll wait . . . :rolleyes2 Currently, I'm having a problem with some of the OMH FO's morphing in the SFIC soap bases I'm using. I've wasted so much soap! I'm using KY's OMH, WSP OMH in Goat Milk base and in Shea base and they continue to come out with a dusty ordor. This doesn't happen when I use NG's OMH FO, though. But, I don't get it. These other FO's are suppose to be awesome.
  13. *faint* Whew!! I love this wax and don't want to have to test all over again with a new one.
  14. I once ordered a soap from someone and it had such a fabulous fragrance, I wanted to try and duplicate it. To me, it smelled like Quaker's Maple & Brown Sugar Instant Oatmeal. So...yes,....I did.
  15. I wrote to them asking for their ingredients and they responded. While they did give me a list of ingredients for each of their M&P soaps, they also added this clause: "This information is strictly confidential and should not be given to anyone without Expressed permission from Essentials By Catalina. " Hmmm...is this odd? Normally, I like to let my buyers know what they're putting on their skin. Anyway, I guess I could say that they do have one particular M&P soap that appears to be an all natural fabulous blend of yummy goodness. Is that the one you're referring to, Prairieannie?
  16. Thanks so much! My plain white glycerine will be delivered on Saturday and I'm going to play!! So, if I reconstituted the goats milk (by adding water), maybe adding some oatmeal would balance it and then it would cure quicker? I love using oatmeal and real honey in soap.
  17. I've been using a GM soap base but would like to get more creative. I'd like to purchase a plain (white glycerine) soap base and add my own goodies. How much powdered goats milk can I add per pound of soap? TIA :smiley2:
  18. Since I live close to Essentials By Catalina, this would be so convienient! I'm currently using Peaks SFIC bases because I like the natural ingredients. In checking out the ingredients in the WSP and Essentials By Catalina, I'm not sure if what they list are chemicals or not. Are their bases as natural as the SFIC bases? TIA
  19. I was using BCN's Pumpkin Pie and then ordered a sample of Flicker's Sweet Pumpkin Pie. Now I don't know which one I like best...they're both fabulous in their own way. I need to choose! :undecided
  20. If this is the same Yancey, I'm familiar with this person's Etsy shop. I'll PM you with the info. Not sure if the link is allowed here.
  21. They're cute but if they use a lightbulb to heat wax then they don't get hot enough to throw scent very well. I bought my daughter a really cute tart burner that worked by means of a light bulb and it barely melted the out to the edges of one tart. I like the 24 watt, electric combo burners better, though they're not quite as pretty.
  22. dabbledoya, I had a feeling you were making this soap with the cp process because of the way you described it's natural, wonderful aroma. I don't get a nice aroma with GM M&P unless I add an FO. Without FO, there's only a creamy milk scent and I don't care for that. asheebeans...where do you buy powdered goat milk? I was considering using this method but, so far, have only been able to find canned, liquid goats milk. I don't make soap in large enough batches to warrant opening an entire can.

Fabulous! I love making and using wickless. Thanks to Admin for all their hard work in separating out the individual threads in order to create new sections.
