  2. Nice list! Thanks for posting. I was in need of thinking outside the box and your list has some good ideas. Thanks! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ www.aromafieldscandles.com
  3. I 'second' Peach from CandleScience. Very true scent. :highfive: ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ www.aromafieldscandles.com
  4. I love Spring. Very pretty candle! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ www.aromafieldscandles.com
  5. Wow!...the list of suppliers is very helpful. Thanks for posting this, Carol! :highfive: ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ www.aromafieldscandles.com
  6. I've never tried candlechem.com but did get some really nice ones from CandleScience this week. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ www.aromafieldscandles.com
  7. I was using Saran Wrap to wrap my tarts in...stored them in my candle closet and every time I opened the door I could smell their lovely scent. Then I read that if the scent can be smelled after they've been wrapped, the fragrance is not being preserved....(as this topic was talked about before). I did some research and found that Saran Wrap is not "polypro...". ( *faint* Uh-oh!) So I unwrapped all those babies and now use polypro... bags. I don't smell anything when I opened my candle closet now ...........but that's a GOOD thang . ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ www.aromafieldscandles.com
  8. Which soy wax are you using? Some require longer cure time than others. Are you using dye? What kind and how much? I've noticed that some dyes, if used heavily, with smother the FO scent or make it smell musty. And, as already asked, where are you getting your FO's? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ www.aromafieldscandles.com
  9. I test wicks in my wax with each different container size, FO and also dye color choice. I once had a wicking problem that I narrowed down to the dye color which kept clogging the wick. Once I changed the dye color, wicking sailed smoothly. If you use additives, those are taken into consideration, too. You'll test as many times as you change anything you put into your candle 'recipe'...and anything you put your candle into. HTH ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ www.aromafieldscandles.com
  10. I'm having an ink-fading problem with my glossy, white labels. Even after I spray coat them with Krylon, the ink fades after about three weeks. The white labels aren't yellowing at all, though. And I have florescent lighting.
  11. I'm using EZsoy which is the same as 415 and I also add 3% BW. I do get creamier tops and MUCH, MUCH less frosting. I pour at 100, though. Also, if I add a wee too much BW, I get a bit of frosting and some pits. Wax is so moody sometimes! Edited to add that I (also) get my BW from CandleScience :-) ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ www.aromafieldscandles.com
  12. I'm not experienced with the type of wax you're using but someone else may chime in with some precise info for you. Meantime, I'll throw in a few "off the top of my head" things-to-consider: I'm going to assume that when you're speaking of your mp, you mean that the measurements are in depth (not width). Too small of a wick will cause tunneling whereby the mp goes more down than out. Further, you can't really get a good idea as to how well the wick is burning if it's going to move around. Your container might be heating up because the wick is too near the edge. Did you poke a hole all the way to the bottom of the jar for the wick? I use the same method for testing as you and my wick doesn't move around. I poke a hole using a wooden skewer and make sure I reach the bottom of the jar. HTH
  13. I wipe out my pot with paper towels to get them as clean as possible but then I also wash them with soap and water. I also clean my stir sticks and thermometer the same way. I just don't want to take the chance that the fragrances mingle. Um...you probably think I iron levis now, don't you?
  14. Way to go, Kimberly! And lilac is such a pretty scent.
  15. Thanks, Top...you are correct. I always measure my soy flakes on a scale and use a plastic "one cup" container to scoup them out of the bag. Seems that my measuring cup comes close...but I don't depend on the measuring cup, I depend on the scale. When it comes down to ounces, I'm plucking out (or adding in) pinches (literally flake by flake) of flakes just to get an accurate measurement. So, no cups here...and I apologize for my brain fart.
  16. 16 oz in a pound / 8 oz in one cup ..........soooooooooo the answer is two.... TWO CUPS *super banana*
  17. Ramaroa, I went back and fixed the spelling errors on the "Scents" page...you mean there are more? I'll go check.............. MeAndMyPuppyDog, you see the cell outline as black? It's colored peach but I guess not all browsers are picking it up that way. Thanks for letting me know! I'll go fix........... And thanks to all who are giving comments. I appreciate that input greatly!
  18. That simply means that the wax will HOLD that much FO. It doesn't mean you HAVE to use that much. I agree that using 2oz/pp wax is a waste of FO but some people really like to load up on the fragrance (and this wax will hold it). IMO, too much ruins the true scent. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ www.aromafieldscandles.com
  19. I love CandleScience's FO's and find that they have an awesome throw (hot and cold). I began purchasing from another supplier but since discovering CandleScience, I'd like to carry more of their FO's because they do seem to throw better for me and they don't have that 'musty' smell that some FO's have. I haven't tried all their FO's yet but so far, Cranberry Marmalade, Strudel & Spice, Violet Lime and Rain Water throw fantastic. I use EZsoy from another supplier because that's where I originally began ordering and I have a lot yet to use BUT I wouldn't hesitate to purchase CandleScience's GB 415. Good stuff! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ www.aromafieldscandles.com
  20. What a beautiful display and your candles are very pretty! I like the charms.
  21. Actually, the Golden Brands 415 is the SAME as EZsoy.
  22. Kelly, that was sweet of you to come back and let us know what worked. Good job on the testing! :highfive:
  23. Thanks for checking out my new site. I greatly appreciate your comments and will follow through on those 'fixes'. :highfive: Have a great weekend, everyone!
