  1. What's a Mead soap? I must have missed this. Love how the label looks.
  2. Scents will mellow and sometimes they lose notes. Scents will fade and come back too throughout the cure and sometimes they never come back. While .7 is the norm usually for FOs, I tend to like soaps at 1 oz pp. What redquilt says is so true.
  3. I was trying to think of who the other supplier was where I've seen it. I would definitely go to these guys before the other two.
  4. Looks like SOS and WSP are your choices.
  5. I think you better burn it all the way down. You still have a risk that's at least 50% of something going wrong.
  6. It makes an interesting candle, but aside from how how far the embeds are from the wick and how it performs etc ... were the lemon slices dried or dropped in because if they were fresh (guessing they were from the black surfacing in one of them) you have another problem ... the introduction of incompatible ingredients ... citrus juices with wax.
  7. I've been pleased with what I have from her and the service is chop chop (very speedy.)
  8. More black labels. May I ask where you are finding these or are you having them printed?
  9. Go for it! I'm trying to figure out what to pour for valentine's day. We've not had to fret about it till oh now.
  10. Can't answer about Candlewic so I won't guess on it. I would seek out cosmetic grades that you know will be able to be dissolved in oil or water. Yes, it makes a difference in how you dissolve it. The oil kind needs oils and the water kind needs water or it won't dissolve completely and could/likely will leave white flecks in your soap. I can't answer about glycerin. I have more luck with the TD that dissolves in water than I do in anything else. It takes very, very little water. You could take say a tsp of your water out before adding the lye and that should take care of the amount of TD that you use in most instances ... saying it's water soluable.
  11. I like them though I can't read them. The art and wording are straight. I gather that you embedded off acetate perhaps? I can see a line there, but maybe it isn't acetate.
  12. That was a kraft label? Looked black with white print on it to me! I have to get too close to the monitor to tell these things since my new glasses had to be returned so I could see out of them. It was picture ... gimme a sec here ... 3 from the classic collection ... I'm dying to see those and hound you to death about them if they are what I think they are lol ... (all in a good way!)
  13. Someone said NG's Fierce was fierce. I have it too and have yet to try it lol. Imagine that! Hearts & Daggars will go into soap first and whatever is left is what I'll try out in wax ... unless, of course, a plumber never comes ... in that case i'll only be doing wax.
  14. What wicks I've decided on do what I want them to do with the candles that I sell ... basically consume the thing, release scent etc. everything to be a candle. Then I wanted that candle to be better. I occasionally experiment with wicks to see if I get a better throw or a longer burn or both and to see how the candle is burning. 1/4" rim on a 3x3 is too much leftover wax for me, but this is me. I am curious how you get 100 hours out of a 3x3.5 mold though, because I am able to get 60.5 hours out of that size of candle or is yours bigger? Both. Solidly since 2004 and on an off from 1994 to 2002. I didn't do squat in 2003. Paraffin is my preference and so are pillar candles. 1343 with the right amount of additives. It isn't broke, so I haven't bothered to try to fix anything though there have been some very challenging FOs. (Also a reason to test. You will find that one wick size does not burn all fragrances equally ... if you do, I will introduce you to Oil of Amber as Sliver pointed out, a patchouli and a few other heavier fragrances lol.)
  15. LOL! Except that Oil of Amber was burnable with a really large wick though in my paraffin. I remember thinking wholly cow is this ever going to work out? Wickless for that scent would have been far easier for sure! By the way, excellent advice!!
  16. soft blue-green (or hardly much teal)
  17. Why is that? Cuz I can't find things? lol! In my blindness I did stumble on the scent on one of my shelves <insert blushing smilie>
  18. Well what about finding a tobacco flower and combining it with a tobacco scent. Hate to not be able to give you a supplier on either of these, but maybe someone will be able to add someone.
  19. They don't need jump lines! I think the look great! Apparently I need to visit this section more often.
  20. Enjoyed the spread, but what I'd really enjoy is a close up of that label on your container candles. Unfortunately I can't read it well or see it well on my laptop, but I sure would like to see it better, pretty please! It looks awesome.
