  1. Those look better than some others I have seen here.
  2. As with any other candle, wick size and type must be tailored to wax and candle size. It does matter.
  3. Creative? It did this all by itself. It's a 30 lb. blob of wax. I'll bet if I put a chunk of this wax in my pot, and put it in my closed car, in an hour I could pour a candle with it.
  4. This is what you end up with if you keep a low MP wax in a garage in Miami during summer. Good thing it was in a bag.
  5. The only time I tried this trick, I ended up with something that looked exactly like grits.
  6. I just found out that the dollar store near one of the resturants I frequent is actually a Dollar Tree. I never paid much attention to it because dollar stores are all over Miami.
  7. I am a catalog freak. Once you get on a mailing list, you get sold all over the country. I get catalogs from everyone from J.C. Whitney, to Harbor Freight, to Colorful Images, to Crutchfield.
  8. They did this to me when I broke my arm, before they applied the cast. It was an oval tank filled with melted wax. No idea of the MP.
  9. I could certainly contribute to this hall of shame.
  10. Looks like exactly what he asked for.
  11. Does anyone have any information about the accidental ingestion (swallowing) of parafin or soy wax? I work from the same surface that I place pills on that I need to take daily. What would happen if I swallowed some wax?
  12. UA or Vibar will reduce the bulging, but will kill the mottling. Depends on what is important to you.
  13. Finally got around to wicking the 4 layer pillar. Wick is an HTP-83. Wax is 1343A. No scent.
  14. A blend of about 75% 1343A, and 25% slake wax seems to do well.
  15. In person, it looks like butterscotch too.
  16. This effect is by using a red tealight with a white overpour.
  17. I have been playing around with various mixes of wax and colors, and have come up with some interesting shades and textures.
  18. That is one of the sharpest and clearest pics I have seen here yet.
  19. I pour mine with no wick. After they have cooled, I drill the candle for the wick. It is centered every time.
  20. What is the average diameter of the wick pin. I don't use them myself, but I have someone that wants a drill bit of that diameter.
