Add 1% stearic acid to any recipe for a super hard bar. Traces quick, gels quick, and can be cut quick!

Bunny's Peppermint Foot Scrub 3.2oz Coconut Oil .6oz Sweet Almond .6oz Apricot Kernal Oil 2.3oz Jojoba 1.5 oz Silica (Bought from TDF) .5oz polysorbate 80 4 g peppermint eo 2 g tea tree eo 8 oz Dead Sea Salts or Salt Blend 2 tsp pumice (I like the blue pumice from Brambleberry) Preservative of choice at manufacturers recommendations. Heat coconut in the microwave until completely melted, add other oils. Heat up for about 30 seconds, and add silica. Incorporate it well using a fork. Add PS 80. Once cool, add eo and preservative. Then add salts and pumice and package. Viola! Awesome stuff! Yes, you can use any oils you like, but note when you use kokum or shea or harder butters, the finished product will be harder. Adjust your recipe for the harder butters/oils.

Go to www.thesage.com and click on the lye calculator. (Even if you're not making soap) and enter in your stuff. Sub things, like for shea oil, note that it's really ewax and things like that. Click on go, and look on the second from the right box, percentages!

LMAO! It was the castor I was thinking of! Glowlite, was just curious to the "method to your madness".

How were you able to get the candle dye to dispurse? I can only use water based colorants, not oil based in mine, or they get super nasty and don't blend. What brand candle colorants did you use?

10oz of olive oil 7oz of coconut oil 1 tbl castor oil 6 oz distilled water 2.6 oz lye 1/2 tsp tumeric for yellow color Don't really need to add this if you don't want too. How in the heck do ya'll run 1 tbl of lye through the calc to make sure the lye amount is right? It's been buggin me since I saw the recipe posted. (and I'm sooo sorry, I don't remember who posted it.) Am not bashing the recipe in any way shape or form, would just like to know how it's done properly. Please please please never *trust* a recipe's lye amount, always always always run it through a calculator. If you make a habit of this, you'll have just made better and safer soaping practices.

You mentioned you were having problems with your rustics too.. What have you been doing? I add 3T ppwax stearic and pour just as the wax has started to skim over in the pot.
