  1. I personally don't like the look of beveled bars so no - I do not bevel. Jen
  2. Can I buy her or one just like her for dds room? Please? She is the cutest thing! Jen
  3. Ack - forgot to say - the candle kit was not from the company you're talking about - nor anything like that! I'd never buy into something like that. Jen
  4. When I first started out, I bought a soy kit and yes - I did microwave my soy . But anyway. I didn't know about proper wicking and guess what - I got black soot from my soy candles! Yup - good ol black soot. But I thought soy didnt produce soot (I'm being sarcastic here)?!? Guess what - it does if you've improperly wicked it just as paraffin gives black soot if - guess what - you've improperly wicked it (being sarcastic again). I've since switched to parrafin (I was able to get awesome throws from soy so that wasn't it) because soy candles give my mil a headache. Both types of waxes have their goods and both types have their evils. But hey - if bashing the one you don't use brings in more sales - good for you (sarcasm again). Jen
  5. Daystar has one that I love... Jen
  6. As I use mostly heavy fos, I use a 51z in a reg 8oz jj more often than not. Jen
  7. I personally find FBB to be very drying and much prefer making my own scrubs, etc. Jen
  8. I think J50 is better than J223 as well and J300 is not as good. Jen
  9. As someone who has three of what you consider not your best pillars but what I consider absolutely gorgeous - yeah - you definitely exceed expectations. Congratulations! Jen
  10. I beleive the one I've used that is super strong is ICS. Jen
  11. Place the bottle in a warm water bath for a bit...
  12. Just curious if any paraffin users have tried these colors. I'm hearing good things about them in soy... TIA! Jen
  13. Thanks, Sharon! That's the way I would do it too. Pour the tart - if I like it, pour a candle. I'm sure you guys have a gazillion testers sitting around too...but it's really driving me nuts. And I've gotten about 30 samples in the last week and when I thought of pouring all 30 and knowing that probably only 10 or less I'll want to order more of...I just got to thinking....kwim? Jen
  14. Fern - And that's exactly what I'm looking for - is an idea of what the fo is all about - the nuances that come out in wax. I use J50 for containers and my test tarts so I'm using the same wax. I wasn't believing people on the tealight tart warmer but that's all the store had and oh my goodness is the throw amazing!!! Thanks, all! Jen
  15. See - I got to thinking - you really truly cannot get a good read oob (I mean - we all know that!) because sometimes the scent just blossoms in wax. And I have a gazillion testers sitting around my house of scents I poured a full candle of and didn't like. Yeah - I eventually do something with them... Anyway - I just got tart molds in and a tealight burner and have been playing and started thinking - instead of wasting 6ish oz of wax just to test an fo (not for throw or wick - just if I even like the scent) - why not put it in a tart? Huh. Maybe I do have good ideas sometimes . Thanks! Jen
  16. before pouring a whole candle? Just to test the fo in wax vs oob? I know other factors are involved with throw, etc... Just curious... Jen
  17. Cider is always nice this time of year (and makes your house smell sooo good). Also - candy corn mixed with peanuts - easy peasy. Jen
  18. Sorry - what I meant was they were selling candles in reg 8oz jjs and had them labeled as 8oz. And a burn time of 60-80. Jen
  19. I just got home from a craft show (scoping them out for ideas for when I'm ready...) and someone had a tumbler with a zinc lid on top that had their logo imprinted on the lid. It was awesome!!!! Does anyone know where to get these made? Also - someone was selling regular jjs and had 8oz on the label. I posted a recent topic about this in the candle section - there's no way you can get 8oz in an 8oz jj. Ah well. TIA - Jen
  20. The one from Just Scent - it is awesomely strong and is B&B safe as well. Jen
  21. I think of body butters as both emulsified butters (water, butters, other goodies) and whipped butters (no water). The Body Shop's Body Butter is an emulsified butter. Jen
  22. Ok - are we talking strictly in our line or are we talking what's on our shelves? Because for my "lines" (which aren't fully developed yet) I will have much much less than my 250ish answer. I mean way less - I don't want to overwhelm the consumer lol! But for my personal collection - yeah - I'm at that 250ish between candles only, B&B and candles, and essential oils. What can I say...I like to sniff and play! Jen
