  1. I prefer the plastic ones. But I use the aluminum ones for sample giveaways cause they're cheaper!
  2. Eugenia - What do you mean you use a small level? You mean a small amount of repour wax to level the bottom or a levelor of some sort? Sometimes the repout for me is enough to level the bottom-- other times I have to heat the bottom and melt off wax to level it.
  3. I like what Rachel said. If you want to make or market this product make sure you put some handling and care info on it. You should try it if thats what you want cause you never know what could turn out to be a good seller.
  4. Your daughter has great taste! Those are beautiful!
  5. Awww! Poor doggies! LOL Nice candles! Are they scented? Please tell.
  6. Folks-- I am not an expert on smooth pillar bottoms. I did have a few that asked about how I got my pillars smooth after I posted some pics. So here it is: I have used two methods.- The first method is to place a cookie sheet over a pan of simmering water. Put/stand your candle on the cookie sheet and the wax will start to melt. I hold the candle firmly and swirl it in a circular motion until its level on the bottom. This method produces a lot of wax in the pan so you get a drippy candle bottom. Then I clean the pan with paper towels and do a SECOND bottom melt to melt away the drips. The second method is to buy a flat griddle pan (at the famous WalMart) and drill a few holes in it. Heat the hole drilled griddle pan and place a cookie sheet underneath to catch the dripping wax. Place/stand your candle on the griddle and melt the bottom til its smooth and level. A faster more efficient method without the drippy bottom probs. Both need practice but produce the same results. I'm not saying either are the best ways its just that I was asked and so I wanted to share. Its working for me until I figure out another way. I would love to hear from others how they level and smooth their bottoms. (Couldn't help myself!)
  7. Sunlight suggests sun rays-- art deco sun rays popped in my mind. But I think a sunrise in the logo would be nice.
  8. I like the name Little Rock Lather and Lights. But it sure is a tongue twister. BTW - Nice job with the logo work.
  9. Sorry to hear about that Luci. Keep your chin up!
  10. Awwww! Now I see it! Very nice! Thanks for sharing. I love cucumber melon. I'll bet it smells as good as it looks.
  11. I'm not seeing it. Did you post a pic?
  12. Those are beautiful! I love the way the layering came and I love the color too. I have got to work more on my pillars. Your candles are an inspiration for me.
  13. I think you're gonna love your new camera when once you figure it out. I'm having a blast taking digi pix.
  14. Okay folks-- My head has officially exploded from being so puffed up! I appreciate all the kind words. I hope to have more pictures in the future.
  15. Just got confused. Happens to me a lot.
  16. Stacien - I used parrafin. I did the repours in 6228. The white candle I was supposed to use a clear parrafin because it was a chunk but I didn't. I wasn't planning to sell it so I just did a quickie repour with what I had left in my meltor. Bottom came out so smooth I just left it as is. The melon colored pillars were made with 6228 and I used same wax for the repour. As I mentioned before I did level the bottom with a heated pan.
  17. Those are beautiful!! Thanks for sharing!!
  18. My apologies! Thread was for Candlelovr not JudyVega. I can't seem to edit the original post. So sorry!
  19. The first two are chunk candles that I didn't bother to level. I just finished pouring the one on the left and it came out smooth. The one on the right is unfinished. The last two picks are closeups of the same candle that I leveled. I placed in hot pan and melted bottom til candle was as level as I could make it. HTH
  20. Just for you! Oops! I meant for Candlovr-- not JudyVega.
