I use the white photo gloss cause I am putting my pix on my labels.

You can get one at any hardware store. Mine's a wagner with 2 heat settings. I think it was around $20.

What's in your kit? $150 seems pricey. But then, I went to an overly priced craft store to make my very first candle making purchase and spent too much!

It does sound cool! Good idea to try for Halloween.

They have a video of the candle splitting. Check it out. What I don't like is the wax spilling out when the apple candle split open to reveal the worm inside.

Hillary You may want to contact the SBA and find your local SBA office or affiliate. I have been taking dirt cheap business courses at a local college thru my local SBA. So far I have had classes in taxes and licensing, setting up your account books, and the business entities course that explains the differences; pros and cons, of LLCs, Sole Proprietor, regular and S Corp, parnerships, and more. They have more courses that I plan to take including a two day workshop in quickbooks that is much cheaper than taking a commercial course. Its helped me a lot. I'll bet you have one close by-- if you have trouble also try contacting your local Chamber of Commerce.

I'm in Northern Virginia and it does suck not to have a supplier here in VA!!! I have been seriously contemplating driving to Penn and WVA to buy supplies. Tri-State are CandlesandSupplies are 2 suppliers that are a half days drive. But there is the Jersey turnpike toll for PA and the 60 plus gas price.

When I take indoor pictures I try to light my photo area rather than use flash. Indoors my flash pics results just aren't as good as when I use natural illumination or lighting. Flash tends to brighten the foreground of the pic and darken the background. The flash effect also doesn't flatter my subjects.

I'd like to know how they got Oprah's attention in the first place. That must be an interesting story. The packaging--- It's gotta be a premium price even for wholesale. But I'll bet the candles cost around 2 bucks to make.

Unless my math is wrong that should be about 32? For me its less cause I spill even when I am trying my durndest.

J223 does do a good job with most FOs I've tried. Out of 20 I think about 2-3 didn't throw well or were just plain stinkers.

I was thinking the same thing. I always do a search to find answers but sometimes you just don't find what you are looking for. Also-- sometimes a question asked last year may not be relevant to what I'm llking for and I may want to know what people think TODAY because times they do a change!! JMHO

How long has it been since you poured? Some candles just need a longer curing time before you get a good cold throw. If you just poured today that could be why.
