  1. I hope this works. I have been trying for over an hour to post some pictures from my photo gallery.
  2. That's it! I must have OD! I did test with a tad more FO. Oops!:rolleyes2
  3. That's what I call some tiny tarts! Still sounds like a lot of work for such a small price.
  4. Glad to know I'm not crazy. Fortunately I haven't gotten any bad headaches or triggered my old migraines back. And I don't have allergies thank goodness. Just that sore throat feeling in the back of my throat.
  5. Very nice Connie! Do you make all of the stuff on the site? The soaps look great.
  6. Lately when I have been burning my candles they have been making me sort of sick. I especially get a funny sore throat feeling. They never bothered me before. Anybody else have a similar problem? I hope it's just temporary.
  7. I'm not sure what huckleberry smells like so can't help you. But I like blackberry sage from Tradewinds.
  8. I keep the rejects in a box in my closet. I like to melt them down and make melts or tea lights. Then I can reuse my jars too. Making something new out of the old wax makes me feel better-- and the tea lights are easy to store and use up whenever I feel like it.
  9. I use the 1343 too. It works well pouring over the chunks so you can see them. You don't have to add anything.
  10. Uh... the model number was G1270. But I don't remember if that was the drill model or the bit model number. Sorry!
  11. I just saw this demonstrated in a shop. They used a drill with a forstner bit size 1 5/8". Worked great and just took about 2 secs. I don't have that kind of drill thou.
  12. I went straight from the double boiler to a direct heat melter. I love the melter cause the wax is melted by the time I set up my jars and wick 'em. But I wish now I had shelled out a few more buck for a larger size. I did have trouble ordering it. Had to wait a long time for it. So I'm not sure I would want to recommend the company I got it from. However, it is well made but *!@*%#! expensive!
  13. I started testing out the crisco in my wax. I tried 1 tbs per lb and my jars came out nicer. A LOT less probs with wet spots and the wax can hold a bit more FO too. I like it. So far-- no problems.
  14. Why are you freezing the tarts? I make tart melts and floating tart candles and never put them in the freezer. They always pop out when the wax has cooled.
  15. I just tested a double wick candle and the burn time is 1/4 oz per hour. That makes it 4 hrs per oz. Is that normal time for a dw?
  16. I meant to start out with about 10 or 12 but ended up with 20 to start out. I couldn't help myself I love FOs! I still have about 20-30 that I use.
  17. I use the 6228 too! I had been thinking for a while to change to another wax because I noticed the same thing about it becoming harder to find. Anybody got any ideas for another wax to try thats similar? I want to stick to a parrafin blend.
  18. I love tarts too. I use plastic molds and aluminum. I don't have any trouble with the metal molds but the wax sticks to the plastic. I'm gonna try some mold release spray I just got for that.
  19. I've got the wagner brand too with 2 settings--- hot and hottest! Don't remember how much I paid but got it cheap at my hardware store. I use it for all kinds of things. I melt the wax drips off the sides of the jars that I spill and it evens out the tops of candles and even helps make the water spots disappear. Sometimes I heat my jars with it too just before I pour.
  20. That was awful! Now I don't feel so bad about my wicks.
  21. I had a similar prob with some of my wick pins. I quit using them and now I just place the wick in when the wax is cooling. It is working out better for me and taking less time. I also have centered wicks now.
  22. I've tried Red Hots from Tradewinds Fragrance Company. It smells like the little red hots candies when you burn the candle. I used one ounce per pound. HTH
  23. That is very sweet of her to do that! It looks very nice too! My prayers for your daughter.
  24. Before you buy a presto pot you could try the double boiler method mentioned on this site. Check it out in the general section I think. Just thought it could save you even more money if you decided you didn't like to make candles.
  25. I've been using pillar wax for melts. I use a parrafin blend though. Haven't tried a soy yet.
