  1. Around here most of the Christmas Craft shows are finished after the first weekend in December. There are a few on the second weekend but the sales have already dropped. I do tend to get a few website sales at this time but that is because people want things shipped out in time for the holidays so I run a holiday sale to draw in more sales. Lastly, I do a last sales day at my office once the craft season is over. I take all my leftover products and sell them at work. Sometimes I make more money at my office than at the craft shows.
  2. Gook luck at your craft fair! Hope you make lots of sales.
  3. Absolutely beautiful, colors and swirls. You sure have some great talent there!!
  4. I have to second CS Smoke Eliminator. Its spot on and really works. Smells a bit like spicy bubble gum but really does the job of elimination odors. Word of caution make sure you keep it away from your other scented candles. It will pull the scent right out of them. I also use CS Nag Champa in my palm candles. A wholesale account of mine that specializes in spiritualism and meditation sells incense and swears it smells exactly like the real thing. Same with CS Dragon's Blood. You can't have a line of incense candles without a Dragon's Blood. Other good incense types are CS Frankensence and Myrrh, Angel, Driftwood, Egyptian Amber, Moon Lake Musk, and Oakmoss & Amber.
  5. It does sound like a good scent combo. Love the green!
  6. Do you know who the candlemaker is? Are they a big company-- lots of dupes out there for companies like Yankee. Some better than the original. If you know the candlemaker and the scent perhaps you could post that and a scent description. Someone here might know exactly which scent you need.
  7. Did you explain to them that since this is not one of your regular scents you would have to do some research and develpment along with testing before you could even think of selling the new candle? If you really want to do this and they really are serious about buying in bulk that you are talking about you need to sit down and have a meeting with them. Make sure you have a reasonable time frame to do your research and testing. They should be willing to fund your R&D or walk away.
  8. I had the same problem. I changed to coconut milk for a whiter soap batter. I also add water soluble TD to my lye water. I use about 2 tsp for about 5-6 lbs of soap. For the purple I got that from Nurturesoapsupplies.com. Its the purple rainbow mica. About 1 tsp ppo. More for deep purple less for a lighter purple or lilac.
  9. Thanks Steve. I have 12 soaps my wholesale accounts keep buying so I have to keep restocking. They keep me busy!
  10. I love her Honey Gingerbread. One of the best gingerbread fragrances out there. Its strong so you want to use lightly. I also love her Black Irish. My customers also loved her pumpkin cornbread but personally it did nothing for me. Other good ones are lilac and linen, coconut curry custard, cashmere and pearls, gingerbread latte, grammy's yummy pumpkin, lilac, maui wowie, patchouli, pumpkin cappuccino, pumpkin gingerbread, rice flower and shea, rune stone, and watermelon marguarita.
  11. Thanks for all the compliments. I just love my new log molds. I can practice swirls in them I couldn't do with my slab molds.
  12. I use 1 oz ppo. I like my soaps strong but you should be able to cut it down to .7 or maybe even .5% and still get a nice scent. It mellows out at 1 oz ppo so thats why I don't really like to cut back.
  13. Finally got around to CP'ing this over the weekend. OMG it is super strong and so far the best Lemon Verbena I have soaped to date. No A&D. Was easy to work with and had time to make a lovely swirl. I have to get batteries for my camera after work so I will try and post pics later. So far I am impressed. Been searching for a strong LV for almost 2 yrs and this is about the 3rd or 4th one I have tried. It got good reviews so I thought I would try it. Glad I did. Now all I have to do is wait and see if it sticks. I used 1oz ppo but think I can go .5 or .7% with this.
  14. I like Peak's Ocean and CS Beach Linen. I love CS Coconut Lime year round but its a big seller in the summer. CS Ocean Breeze and Montego Bay didn't do it for me. Too weak.
  15. I use labelsbythesheet labels for my lip balm tubes and buy the T-perf shrink wrap to seal the lid and tube. I've been using them so long its hard to imagine not sealing my tubes. Keeps people from opening the tubes until after they make a purchase. I like that!
  16. I have been trying to get my soaps down to 12 sets of 3 or 36 soaps in all. Since I sell mostly soap I like to have a large selection. Its enough to fill 2 tables at a craft show and thats what I am aiming for. That way a third table can hold my other stuff.
  17. I've ordered from them in the past and had no problems.
  18. Very nice! The colors are perfect for peppermint.
  19. So are you gonna give it a try? I think little soap jello cubes would be adorable. Or you could pour it into a fancy jello mold. I think it would also be perfect for little "fruit" soap embeds.
  20. Its fun and easy. I've been practicing the mantra and getting better at it. Once I have that down I'm gonna work on another technique. I like the brown color too but its hard for me to keep cocoa powder in the house especially when its cold outside. I just love hot cocoa!
  21. I would have said "would you mind demonstrating that for me?" Actually, I've heard this before from a candle maker at a show I did several years back. Only the person saying it was her 9 yr old daughter bragging that you could eat her mothers candles. I looked the little girl straight in her face and told her you can't eat any candles. That took the smirk off her face. Honestly I just could not see telling a child this stuff and was hoping to set her straight. Hope she never tried it because her mothers candles had dyes and fragrances in them. Ick!!!
  22. That looks interesting. Not sure what I think about it. It seems more of a novelty than a practical soap. I have an idea kids would love it but most adults would not be impressed.
  23. I love the colors! I am still learning about colors but haven't been able to get brilliant ones like those. Just awesome! Can't wait to see the cut pics.
