    1. ok so i think im going to cut down and limit fragrances. i want to make it easier on myself for freshness and in stock plus i am realluy thinking too many options is confusing to my customers. I just need to decide on how many fragrances and which ones are the best for b&b....what do you all do????

  1. Its finally going to be up & running in a couple of days. I had the best help with the person doing my templates..if it were not for her, i wouldn't look so good ( web site)http://cherryfarmdesigns.com

anyway im just excited now to get it going and taking the next step. I have been doing so well w/ word of mouth and the Salon but now it will be this. i did sell on ebay but closed that store. So anyway enough about my rambeling...just whoo hoo that I decided to take the plunge. :yay:

  2. I recently ordered some boxes from www.uline.com. They have a wide variety of sizes including itty bitty cube shaped ones suitable for 1 jar of scrub. You could also use those for orders to Canada where the priority boxes don't work. Realistically how many customers order only 1 scrub? If they are the exception rather than the rule than I would not worry too much about it.

lol you would think but after 2 yrs of selling there are quit a few that buy only one at a time and then come back to try another scent etc...some of my clients are on limited budgets so can only do what they can to pamper themselves. Not alot but there are more then I expected. Thanks for the link. I think I may have found something too that may work for me. thanks ladies.

  3. If you were going to ship only one scrub you could always just use a smaller priority mail box. It will not work for flat rate shipping but you usually have an idea of how much it will cost to say ship it to New York using priority mail. Since it does not weigh much I am trying to remember how they do the regions but it would probably be around $5 I think. Works just as great becuase you can order the boxes for free of off USPS. Hope that helps. I ship this way and it works out nicely for me.
i do ship that way but I dont like it...lol its still to big and i am a perfectionist on the way it looks when it arrrives. I have customers in canada too so priority doesn't work. I have been only offer Priority mail due to my not liking my products sitting somewhere in mail land :rolleyes2

I also think I might start shipping w/ a carrier also... hmmmm I guess I shouldn't change my ways but just trying to find cheaper ways for a few of my customers.

  4. how do you charge for shipping??? DO you charge a flat rate ...calculator...priority ??? I generally charge priority and its calculated however that can be spendy if someone only orders 1 or 2 items...cheaper (for shipping) to use a flat rate box. Also how do you ship just one item..boxes I mean???? they dont make small enough priority boxes IMO for lets say 1 scrub. Just trying other options for my customers ;)

  5. ok I never post pics and rarely post cuz you guys are all awesome...but im feelin brave today. Im adding to my ( limited) line lol ....Gingerbread Body Whip...its lighter then my body polish and it is extreamly gentle compared to the polish...less/lighter sugar. So I had a request for something like this and this is what I came up with. ( no laughing at me ....lol) :o

  6. I guess I misunderstood. Since I have not seen you post on craigslist for awhile and your Ebay store is closed I thought maybe you were looking for suggestions. I agree though its always great to share ideas.
i haven't posted anywhere cuz i sell to a few salons. i never really had a ebay store except for my hcts friends and not on craigslist.
  7. Since I am still fairly new on opening my company right now its mostly by word of mouth. You can post on craigslist but so far I have not got any sales from that but its free so no skin off my back.

You can write a press release and send it out to your local paper.

Unless you have tons of money which I think its fair to say most of us do not then you could do radio or tv or a a newspaper ad.

Leave your business cards on bulletin boards and hand them out to whoever you can. Also making flyers is a good advertisment and fairly cheap to do. Network with other business owners in your community.

Just remember it takes a lot of time. Keep working at it and you will continue to build clientele.

well i already have my own forms of advertsing, i just started this ( thread) wondering what everyone does and perhaps us share other ideas for people.
