  1. stay organized????:rolleyes2

labels, jars, oils, colors, supplies, butter, boxes OH MY!!!! I am just having a hard time staying organized and I hate it. I try real hard however my storage / office closet is upstairs...downstairs is my kitchen and I have taken over a little storage area down here also, however seiously looks like a tornado hit both. I wanna organize tonight since DH & DS are gone for the night WHOOO HOOO:yay:

I definatly need more shelving... :wink2:

  2. Did you have a problem with it before? The reason I'm asking is because I was thinking of ordering from them, and if there was some problem, it would be helpful to know.

Hi...by the way i did find what I was searching for locally:yay:

I cancelled an order with them due to poor customer service and lack of customer service. i wont use them, local or not. Also their prices are much high then other. i figured it wasn't worth it...i dont want to beg for my products:rolleyes2

  3. You can drive to Liberty Naturals in Portland for the tea tree oil. Maybe they have the menthol crystals too.

im actually not interested in that company at all.

I didn't know if possible you could get those two items at a natural grocery store or health food store. i dont need alot of it.

  4. Mango butter should smell like Mangoes- and it should be creamy.

But- it varies GREATLY from supplier to supplier. Just like shea. I have seen Mango that was as hard as Cocoa Butter and dark in color.

I only get my Mango from OBN. They have the best IMO.

Plus great pricing and customer service.

yes well the stuff i recieved is DEFINATLY rancid...i should have gotten it directly from a supplier I guess...

  5. So that is the secret..sifting..OK

I use it in mine but dont get to much film..I don't like to use that much though. More BS and CA.

    I have a big ? though...

Mine dont tend to 'smell' very much. How much FO do you all put in say a 3 cup batch?

i dont measure anymore...I do it all by sight, feel & smell I just make sure they are smelly before i mold ...i know not much help but i dont think you can go wrong w/ bombs...

  6. i have been searching everywhere for a low sided jar/container for lotions, butters, scrubs etc... I have 1 that i got but i cant remember where she got them. They are more flat and round not high sided. about the size of your hand....IMO easily portable rather then a cluncky 8oz jar that I have.

  7. Why don't you use envelopes?

If you are going to use the small sample foil packs, you can easily fit them into a regular envelope.

There are also padded envelopes you can get at the dollar store :) HTH!

im not talking about shipping them...I needed the mylar sample pouches like pp had stated. I was just looking for a cheaper supplier since I dont need that many and KB wants $9 to ship to me usps.

  8. I use the heat and seal sample packs from Kangaroo Blue or 1 oz Polycons from La Con. I think SKS sells these as well.

thanks I will have to try & get something...I just wish I could buy local or something to save on shipping...I dont wanna ups shipment for something so light kwim???

  9. to kind of gauge what % of your ingredients check out bunny's bootylicious body butter....it's amazing (IMHO)

you may want to do a search on it here to get more info about updates and ingredient switches....but it's a start.....plus Lori posted a link to a recipe at oregon trails another thread of yours about the same thing.....

i got those ingredients from the souffle i used awhile back...it was like air...not a greasy butter at all.

"plus Lori posted a link to a recipe at oregon trails another thread of yours about the same thing" ????????????????? im confused about this

  10. Hi all, could use some help. Attached are some pics of my first 2 forays into bath bombs.

The teal one cracked, which I thought was generally due to drying too fast. But since the humidity that day was around 99% it doesn't make sense to me that it could. And the little "buttons" I made with the same batch didn't crack. These are basically citric acid, baking soda, corn starch, sunflower oil, FO, color and a tiny bit of water. They do fizz like the dickens in the bath!

The purple one is an enigma too - I got warts AND cracks - and that was a LOW humidity day. Maybe the warts are from not mixing well??? And the "button one I made with my 1T measuring spoon warted up BIG time. These had no water in the recipe (beyond the coloring) - just citric acid, baking soda, cornstarch and coconut oil (76).

Is it my recipes, do you think? My mixing (but no water in the purple one cept like 8 drops of coloring)? The atmosphere? Should I move to the desert or the coast??? And how come the different sizes have dramatically different end results?

    Boggles my mind :cry2:

    Carol

I didn't see any attachment for pics :sad2:

If you get warts generally there is too much moisture....are you adding your liquid directly into your mix ( bowl) ??? I dont use water I use WH and a spray bottle...I feel everything to the touch. Make sure it doesn't feel wet...It should be almost dry mix yet able to stay together when pressed. Also not sure how much oil your using...just make sure for the most part its a dry miz....just enought to hold together when placed in a mold after you squeeze tight.

  11. I'm sure you did - but just in case - did yoiu check the archives? Maybe this is it? http://www.candletech.com/cgi-local/yabb/YaBB.cgi?board=bathandbody;action=display;num=1076650542;start=1#1

HI- I did however it wasn't quite what I had in mind...its still more of a "butter" then a souffle. I have the ingrediants that I would like to try to use just not sure how much or how to go about it. That recipe also didnt have water in it ...I am really hoping to find something nongreasy & light & fluffy.
