  1. OOB its really nice, haven't got it into wax yet, it's on the list for this week. Am using Ecosoya CB135 & pillar wax. Ive never tried any coffee scents before so I'm really interested to see how it works. What wax are you using Sharon? Sally.
  2. I've just started testing some 16oz candle tins & have double wicked 1 with 2 Eco 4's & the other with 2 Eco 5's both tins with Ecosoya CB135 & JS Egyptian Rose Geranium at 9%. Diameter of the tins is 3 1/2". I lit both this morning & noticed something I have never seen before. Very soon after the Eco 4's were lit one of the flames had extended 1/4" from the wick across the melt pool thus melting more wax around this wick than the other wick was melting. I'm wondering if this could have been caused by the f.o not incorporating in the wax properly, although it didn't happen with both wicks or the Eco 5's, or possibly too high a % of this particular f.o. I will try less f.o next time & see if it happens again. I watched these tins like a hawk for the time I had them burning. Tin 1 with the Eco 4's had an almost complete melt pool, less than 1/8th" hang up at 5 hours. Tin 2 with the Eco 5's had a larger hang up at the same 5 hour mark, the melt pool was not as deep nor was the tin as warm as tin 1. I gave them a second burn tonight. Tin 1 (Eco 4's) again has burned more quickly than tin 2 (Eco 5's) has a complete m.p with no hang up at 4 1/2 hours & is much hotter than tin 2 which has a trace of wax around the side & is much cooler to the touch. Anyone got any ideas as to why the larger wicks are burning more slowly? Both have reasonable H.T's tho it's not a very stong F.O so I think it's ok. This is the first attempt with 16 oz tins & I'm not sure if double wicking is the way to go. I have larger Eco's,(12 & 14) LX's( 26 & 28) & CD 18's to try single wicking & I would really appreciate any help/ advice. TIA Sally.
  3. I have mine tissue wrapped with a scent label on the front (trying not to use plastic wrappings) then I have a selection of pretty organza bags for sale & folk will often buy a bag or two to put tarts in. It takes some time to wrap all the tarts before the fairs but I think it's worth it. Sally.
  4. Have you tried any local...ish craft fairs? This time of year there are often a few more. Or howabout a small feature in your local newspaper, local woman's small business kind of thing, with contact details of course. Sally.
  5. Got my oils from Bert this week & a whole bunch of others so I need to get some in my cb135 to test. Wanted to get test pillars made up too but I ran out of wax & the new box doesn't come til next week sometime. Bit of a bummer really as I have a house party the week after next & I wanted to introduce the christmas scents then, hoping I'll have some ready but it won't be the full range. Sally.
  6. I'd use it as it is....if it works well, it sounds like you're happy with it. Have you tried putting your bottle in a jug of hot water to warm it, I always do that with Benzoin EO & it works a treat & I don't have to wait half an hour for the drops to come out. Sally. ETA If you're using a blend you could mix it up in an empty bottle ready for use.
  7. I just got my box of goodies from Bert this morning.......not a drop was leaked all the way to Scotland. It's gonna take a while to work through them cos I filled that box with 31 of the 4ozers. Sooooo, here's my tuppence worth OOB Fig & Melon.......yummy, as good as Peaks Med Fig Candy Cane.......just like a stick of seaside rock Lemon Biscotti Pie......interestin, I'm not much into foodie scents but this one I like Black Raspberry Vanilla.........yummy, slightly less sweet than Peaks Tea Leaf & Jasmine....oh my, cant wait to get this in the wax Orange Spice........drool Christmas Pear.......more drool Redwood & Cedar....smells like something I've used in my bath years ago but I can't remember what Cinnamon nutmeg & clove....thought it might be more clovey, will see if it comes out more in wax Pomegranate......smells goooooood Juniper Breeze.....luverly Fall Harvest........nice Apple Cinnamon....think I'll add a touch more cinnamon Columbian coffe......yum Evergreen....don't get much clove again but nice Andes Thin Mint......I want to drink it Jack Frost.....gooooood Cranberry (traditional)....smells like the juice in a carton Anyway theres a whole bunch more to play with, will post results as they come in. Am using Ecosoya CB135 & my own soy/pw pillar blend btw. Now I'm going to have to restrain myself cos every time I look I see more I'd like to try........Bert I really don't need all this temptation, but thank you! Sally.
  8. A friend was recently in U.S & he bought me 2 Presto Pots & brought them over here without having to pay shipping or customs.....all legal! All I need now is a transformer & I'm good to go...........ooooo I'm so excited!!!! I know they aren't as big as a turkey frier but they are miles better than a double boiler. Sally.
  9. I second the Black Raspberry Vanilla & Mediterranean Fig. Tuscan Nights is lovely as are Blackberry Sage & Cucumber Cantaloupe. Tropical Tuberose is strong & Black Canyon is a great masculine fragrance & very strong too. I found all the Peaks oils I have can be used at a lower %age than others to great effect. Sally.
  10. Yup, each colour name has the appropriate coloured background, on my pc anyways. BTW I showed my oldest your site this w.e, he's very very impressed & he can be hard to impress. Sally.
  11. Sorry KK I can't offer any words of encouragement here........I've got 31 4 ozers on the way from Berts (I resisted but to no avail!) & god knows how many in a goodies box thats been collecting with a friend for a while.....that ones just cleared customs & I'm drooling already! Plus I need to order from a UK supplier who has a few good oils I've used before and some others from another lady too. Hope my oils cupboard has enough room for them all. Ahh but my house does smell goooooooood,& my neighbour tells me she keeps smelling some lovely smells coming out of my kitchen..lol. Sally.
  12. I would definately take some others, not everyone buys seasonally so you may well catch a customer you could have missed by only taking the fall/ christmas types. Sally.
  13. MMMMMMMM I love that candle, haven't smelled the fo but I can just imagine it. Hoping to play at rustics this w.e cos I missed last w.e's class so if just one came out as gorgeous as that I'll be happy. Sally.
  14. So very pretty, can't wait to try some palm for my winter project. Sally.

  21. Very smart, you've done a great job. Sally.
  22. MMM thats a hard call. I like both but prefer the no border on the jar, however if it was a pillar I'd keep the border..........cos thats what I have on my pillar labels. Sally.
