  1. I don't know how he can get dark colors in soy with just a little color, soy is opaque, so you would need more color to get s dark color. I have to double my amount of color from my paraffin votives to my soy blend containers, to even get close to the paraffin color.
  2. I don't know about vanilla but, My customers rave over Pink Sugar. In my body spray they say their men want to lick it off of them. It smells like cotton candy, so maybe that's why.
  3. I could not find one called "elemental jars" but I did find the L97023V Spanish Green Insulator Votive - H=2 11/16 in. D=3 5/16 in. Size: 6.5 oz. that looks similar.
  4. They look great. Good luck with the wicking. I looked all over the site you posted but could not find that cocktail glass anywhere.
  5. That does not look like that jar. The jar she wants has no threads for a screw on lid. It has a thick rim that you put a plastic snap on lid. I can't find a picture of the candle I'm talking about but they are at grocery stores' date=' dallar stores, and discount stores.[/indent']
  6. Sure you could. If you want to continue selling FO's, of those names, you will have to remember where you purchase them and the name you bought them as so you could keep selling them. If you are only tryng to sell what you have on hand then you need to state how much you have and that it is a limited item, when it's gone it's gone. You could list the FO's here on the classifieds as the real name and what supplier they came from.
  7. You wont know what the true color is untill the wax cools. Color in melted wax is lighter than colled wax. A drip of wax on white paper WILL NOT give you the finished color, close but not exact. You need to pour up a sample in a paper dixie cup, then when the wax cools just peal off the cup. This way you will know the exact color of the wax.
  8. Here is a " How To" to make balloon candles...http://www.onestopcandle.com/candle/jackoproj.php The title is not the same but it does use a balloon to make the candle.
  9. I also did not notice any threads on the top of that jar. That's why I think it looks like the dollar candles withe the plastic snap on lids.
  10. That jar looks like the cheep discount/dollar store candles, they are shaped like that with a plastic snap lid.
  11. You want the clear, because the white is whiter than the wax so it will look like a decal where's the clear you can't tell it is a decal. BTW - If you do a test and print out on white paper that color will look darker & brighter. When printing on the clear you need to slightly darken any pastel colors, or else they are to light on the candle.
  12. Sorry about that, I forgot you are in the UK.
  13. Wish I could pay annually, I hate book work, I am right brained not left. In my state, I have to pay monthly.
  14. If everyone on here, that is using this glass glo palm wax, is getting amazing cold & hot throw and looks, just as it is, then why add something to it? From the number of posts on here all you need to do is... melt wax at about 200*F, add color & FO and stir then pour into a wicked & heated jar and let cool very slowly. When cooled, trim wick & add label and your done. BTW - When I get some to test, I will have to poke around and see if the "one pour" is true or not. It may have hidden air pockets around the wick.
  15. Paraffin A term used variously for either a waxlike substance or a group of compounds. The former use pertains to the high-boiling residue obtained from certain petroleum crudes. It is recovered by freezing out on a cold drum and is purified by crystallization from methyl ethyl ketone. Paraffin wax is a mixture of 26- to 30-carbon alkane hydrocarbons; it melts at 52–57°C (126–135°F). Microcrystalline wax contains compounds of higher molecular weight and has a melting point as high as 90°C (190°F). The name paraffin was formerly used to designate a group of hydrocarbons—now known as alkanes.
  16. After looking at the site and other pictures it could be that. I saw bubbles in some of them so it could be gel wax, and after the candle was made, heated to remove the bubbles. Either way they look safe because, I saw a tea light embeded in the top of one of them. So I would guess the rest are that way, too.
  17. Also, that holder is a little to big. You see how the wax ran down between the votive & glass holder, now you have a much bigger candle than what you started with so that's what made that wick to small. You need to find a tighter fitting votive holder. The straight sided one's (you can find them at Wal-Mart in the craft section) hold the votive real snug with little room to rattle and very little to no room for wax to run down the side of the candle. When checking the size of a propper fitting votive holder, do the rattle test. Place a votive in a holder and shake the holder, if the candle rattles, a lot, you need a tighter fitting holder, with little to no rattle.
  18. Do a search here under wood wicks, you will find lots, even photo's of burning candles. The search button is located in the upper right on the blue bar.
  19. I don't use Lanolin because people can be sensitive or allergic to it.
  20. That one, try thousands of mass produced candles that never get tested.
  21. Yep, that is the norm, if not worse, for most average mass produced candles out there. I have tested lots of mass produced and name brand candles and mine will out burn all I have tested, so far. The problem with mass produced is poor quality and throw. Name brand are mostly high priced, and on average, not much better than the mass produced, they are sure not worth the high price.
  22. I heat the molds in a toaster oven between 200*F & 250*F and pour hot between 180*F & 200*F. I re-pour / top off one time and I get smooth votives every time. I don't always get flat tops but not a major dip either.
  23. Is their container palm wax different than other suppliers out there, or are they the only ones that is carring this wax? I want to get the results they claim and the good cold & hot throws I have read about on here. I would like to purchase someware closer to reduce shipping.
