  1. Since I haven't ever smelled zucchini bread I'm wondering if it might smell like something I have. Does zucchini have a smell of it's own or is it the spice that gives the bread/cake it's special scent? Pumpkin Pie? Gingerbread. Cinnamon bun or Spice cake. Has anyone mixed their own? Thanks
  2. I wouldn't bother testing without FO. Every thing changes when you add it. Just try with this wax what you tried with the other and see if it has a better throw. I thought the first picture you posted looked pretty good, Maybe a little deep for a melt pool. For a 4" across jar it should take 4 hrs to make it to the edge then start going down. Some waxes don't burn that way but soy usually does. But no soot or mushroom is a good thing. Good luck.
  3. I've had some for years, maybe 10 and it's still good, has turned a little yellow.
  4. I don't pull the plug but have them plugged into a surge protector and I turn that off.
  5. How do you attach the wick to the Bottom/Top when you pour? If the top is the bottom when pouring, what keeps the wick fastened to the mold?
  6. I have a silicone t-light mold that I push wick pins through from the outside bottom. The molds sits on the flat bottom of the pin. When the wax is dry I pull out the pins, remove the candles and shove a tabbed wick through. I have used the wick pin on the inside of the mold but it does make them a little shorter. The silicone will seal around the pin and will close up when you take the wick pin out.
  7. Can I have some pinto beans 'n onions with that cornbread? Now I'm hungry..
  8. I would say " Triple is the standard but I always add more than standard just for the extra strong scent I insist on. I'm very picky and have a my FO custom blended. Also use a specially refined blended wax that is made just for my company. " Can you get better than that?
  9. I use 435 for tarts but I pour into the muffin foil cups. I don't add anything when the wax is acting good but. When it's bad I'll add Beeswax maybe 1 oz or less per lb. Or Paraffin about 1/2 to 1 oz per lb. As far as popping out of the cups or warmers, I never had to deal with that since the wrapper just tears right off and I recommend pouring out when warm.
  10. I would not even test without FO, you'll just have to do it all over when you start adding it. I have a variety of wicks, I could send some of the larger sizes. They are all primed and tabbed though. Send me your address if would like a few to test.
  11. Be sure to try the Chestnuts and Brown Sugar.
  12. Not a good thing in a firestarter at least not the kind we want to make.
  13. Your so right, why would Suzy think combustible is a bad thing. If it said NON then I'd worry. 25 lbs is going to make a ton of starters, I use mostly soy in mine. Have about 5-50 lb boxes of various waxes in the garage I should get rid of. These waxes aren't good for anything but fire starters, it's so old. Could donate but not worth shipping.
  14. This is not a picture of mine although mine are similar. Just one I copied to keep to show. And 1 wick is enough. You don't need the pet bedding either if you have Potpourri use it just for testing.
  15. If you need wicks, I have a bunch of cut ones I could send. The wicks are free Just pay shipping. This is a picture I copied to show what Fire starters look like. The ones I make are in smaller cup cake foils, wax, scented with extra spice FO, red color, potpourri and cedar bedding.
  16. I love NG's if you haven't tried it I can send a tart or sniffy if you can tell by just a snif.
  17. I will trade you a Spiced Cranberry from NG for a Milled Cider. But mine is made from container soy GB 435. PM me if you want to try it.
  18. I personally want to know what I'm buying when it comes to perfume scents. Why change, these names sell well for the big companies.
  19. Did you add water or anything to the Melt&Pour except FO? I have sprayed Pam to help with the un-molding and it has worked. Good luck.
  20. I have seen soap with these perfect bubble gum balls and wonder how they do it? The balls are too perfect to shape by hand or with a scoop. So how are they made?
  21. Weeping/leaking happens to me all the time when it's humid, weather changes. Spring or fall anytime it warms up. If I have 30 tarts on a tray only a few or half will leak, it's random. Like Imc said heat gun the top, some times a couple of times, others I have to wipe off and heat gun. It will stop so don't change anything your doing. It's just such a pain. FO, might suck back in on it's own too.
  22. Hell, I'm allergic to Aspirin!:rolleyes2
  23. I hate the way soy and paraffin, all waxes plus the FO's are always changing. No matter who you ask the answer is the same "no, we haven't changed anything". It is such a pain, expensive, time consuming and depressing. At least for me. Do not believe that no one every has problems and never believer that everyone has perfect candles. JMO
  24. He is asking because he sells soy a newer and different wax than paraffin, beeswax, palm or others. Since soy is different he will advertise he makes soy candles and customers will say what's soy? why soy wax? is it better? smell stronger? burn better? And he can say what ever he thinks is best. Since he didn't know how to answer he asked us. I personally like soy because it throws better, is quickly renewable (true and sounds good), and cleans up with soap and water. At least mine are great, maybe his are too, I have Paraffin, Bees wax and Palm I can say they all Throw great, look beautiful and are easier to work with. JMHO
  25. I bought one and used for a short while. Wax melts from the sides and takes too long to heat. Prefer the Turkey Fryer or Presto without spigot.
